    I think I mentioned this here before, but American eels are a common find in the minnow ponds (bait farm) near Richland, Mo. That place is connected to the Gasconade only by a trickle of a drainage ditch that is probably dry for miles much of the time. When you think about the trek involved and most of all WHY they keep showing up there it really is a mind blower.

    Thanks, I couldn't justify the cost of a Umpqua boat box, and that one does the same job for about 8.00 total. The sweet lookin' shaddy popper on top of the box is a Billethead model, the others are mine. That is my White bass/Hybrid box. I made a boat box for Green bass too.

    Interesting observation regarding ZM... If you WANTED to introduce them into one end of a lake then you should dump them in at the opposite end. I say this because the places where I notice them are never anywhere near boat ramps.

    I did some research on them and they are a favorite hook for ice fishing panfish. Small enough for wax worms, live nymphs and wasp larvae, and a long shank so you can unhook a fish quickly with gloves on. There was some other interesting items in the lot.     They might oughta gas up those new trucks and go put some posters up at all the accesses. I bet if you asked 50 of the guys that use the access just down the road from me there might be 2 that are even aware of this. Of course they would likely be the only two out of the 50 that are actually registered voters. LOL

    Does anyone have a use for these... I aquired a box of old tackle and ended up with 10 boxes of these. Apparently they are a popular ice fishing hook? Dunno but I'll never use 1000 of them !

    No don't buy a choke solenoid until you first verify that it is getting voltage to it when you depress the choke switch, and that a bunch of gunk hasn't built up in the plunger barrel. There really isn't anything that can go wrong with the solenoid unless someone crushed it with a hammer, it is just a housed electromagnet.

    LMAO! Nice fish. And I can respect the face crop. I called in sick once on a very busy Saturday in order to fish a tournament. I laid it on thick too, tuned up my best sick voice and left the most pathetic message you ever heard on the office answering machine at 5:45am. Wouldn't ya know we won the blasted thing and it made Monday's paper, grinning hero pictures and all.

    Elk, Spoonbill, Urban trout, the magazine (yeah it's cool but we all have internet now....save a tree), I'll stop now since I'm sure those alone will catch me plenty of flack Access upkeep doesn't have to cost out the wazoo, look at the work our Stream Teams do for nothing (we don't even need T-shirts, we'll still be there).

    Sweet, BH. I did similar using regular craft foam sheets and laminating them together until I got the thickness needed, then cut slits. Works great ! Now,back to the Altoid box project... I found a nurse

    Matching the hatch for smallies is usually a waste of time. Something big, buggy, and dark with contrasting rubber legs (Bitch creek, BUBfly, leech patterns). Yellow legs are a thing with some guys. I've had better luck with white. A big black woolly worm with white rubber legs and antennae will move a lot of fish. They can't seem to resist coming closer for a good long look anyway.

    The longest lasting set I ever had were some fairly cheap Uniroyal's, but nobody in my area sells them anymore. Goodyear's are great if you don't travel on gravel much.

    Countryred, you just took me back to where I grew up. Odd thing, I've seen just about everything near the confluence of Otter Creek except an otter. Good trotline sets were marked by nailing a spoonbill to a tree.

    There ya go. If sized right they would snap in and stay put. Stain or paint them and it would look really sweet. I'm thinking about a project for the kids to do for the folks now... Sewing kits, first aid kit, ect.
