  1. Holy smokes ! Outstanding ! I've been chasing smallies on the fly since 1997..... You've officially smoked me in a single season. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it!
  2. The googly eyes are where it's at. Nice work!
  3. Yeah well, I've had a nap since then.
  4. So on lake Egypt it is prohibited to fish off of a dock ?
  5. It's not the "retrieving snagged baits" that is the issue I don't think. Even the best dock shooters overshoot from time to time, and when a person is out on their deck ir in their yard and a guy comes by shooting for specks, all the person hears is "WHAP!" when jighead meets encapsulated dock float. No harm is done, but let's face it....when someone walks by your truck and you hear "WHAP!" Your hackles are gonna come up aren't they? And you're gonna run over to see what's up. Those people don't even know what "shooting docks" is about, hell most don't even know why you'd even want to fish THEIR dock because they never catch fish from it. LOL
  6. My dad trained bird dogs and he always said the best dog names were single syllable. Names like Chip, Buck, Jack, ect. (A name that sounds the same whether you are whispering it or screaming it, or whether you are happy or pissed).
  7. It's fun to do but I fear its days are numbered. You should hear the non-fishing dock owners describe witnessing this practice. It is going to result in a regulation that prohibits fishing "close" to docks entirely if we aren't careful.
  8. Get yourself some Stanley Bull Ribbit's (the big ones) and the "Double Take hook system". Fish that sucker just like a buzzbait, with 20# line and a good stiff rod. Drop your rod when you get a hit and then sweep hard to the side just like a Sluggo/Fluke hookset. Be prepared for that first jump, don't let him shake his head.
  9. If we get the rain they are predicting for tomorrow then the cats should make a move. I got a nice mess at the mouth of a small tributary right after that last decent rain (Tuesday?). Went this evening though and fished cut gills, cut shad, and dip bait and never had a single solid bite. The ones I caught the other day (all channels) were loaded with eggs.
  10. Jim, not having much luck with the phone(s) this evening, either to you or the owner of the rig. So I'll try ya tomorrow. Oh and according to my 19y/o daughter who is an authority on all things cool and stylish.....Having a boat that matches your truck "is ghey". Who knew, right?
  11. Yeah the PM's aren't working for some reason. You can call or text me if you want. 573-569-5406
  12. It's not GREEN! You were drunk. It's Brown/Metallic Bronze, trimmed in gold. Beautiful old Champ! Doesn't look like it ever got rained on, never had a cable scrape tge side, and never even bounced off a single dock.
  13. I have an unusually clean Champion/150 Johnson here that I would pounce on myself if it wasn't a dual console. If interested I'll uncover it and post pics when it quits threatening to rain. Could probably be bought for 6k'ish.
  14. "As long as you're not doing anything wrong what's the problem? " I just had to throw that in there
  15. Here's one where nobody was buzzed, and somebody still goes to jail. The dude that was riding on the gunnel was saved, so I'm scratching my head on THOSE charges. Funny how in THAT case it wasn't a question whether he "fell or jumped", isn't it? If I make a trolling motor adjustment and your clumsy azz falls (or jumps) out, will you please bring me cigs while I'm doing time in prison for attempted manslaughter? I'd appreciate it.
  16. That's not true. The laws being broken that I'd like to see some attention/action given to are always ignored because it's inconvenient and requires EFFORT. It's frustrating.
  17. A type III with 3 buckles in front is what's being reported, but that just doesn't make sense. I would have expected the old orange thing which COULD be attached properly while handcuffed. Take a second and think about what it would feel like to be handcuffed over the water. Even a slight loss of balance would cause you to panic.
  18. Was he told to stay seated until instructed to stand? After all, the driver is STANDING!
  19. Of course there is THAT side of the coin, BUT..... This area promotes partying 100%. No that's not quite accurate... make that 110% ! They promote it to the point that even I who has lived here and know the drill, would expect a certain degree of leniency. And it's worse than a simple Speed Trap type entrapment thing because the arrests and accompanying charges will severely alter your life. Being totally shitfaced, running over bouys, and being obviously too wasted is one thing, but honestly that is a rare occurance so the authorities go to nit-picking any revenue generating infraction they can root out and then spin it into a severe crime. It's a dirty rotten way to operate, regardless. If you want to look at it from a statistical standpoint since Memorial day weekend..... the most dangerous situation on this lake would be riding in a Donzi with a trained officer.
  20. And who here is not guilty of it?
  21. That would be hilarious if it wasn't so true.
  22. What Catfish?
  23. If it had been a 20 y/o female from Missouri driving the boat, do you think would she have been cuffed and stuffed? Male subject = strike one. From another state = strike two Underage and presumed buzzed = strike three You're Out!
  24. I thought you were gonna say "He ripped it in half and asked her which half she wanted HIM to do". An acquaintance of mine agreed to pay for a 9k boob job for his bride. Then during the divorce settlement (7 months later) wanted to know which one (right or left) he going to be awarded. Seemed like a fair question to Me.
  25. Was he over. 08% ? It has been said that he wasn't. There is speculation that he was being taken in on a 12hr. hold to drill him about WHERE he had been served. (They knew where the boat left from last, indicating that the vessel had been marked for a pull over). Not cool! And if that is being denied NOW then what was the reason for the stop? Witness states that the PFD was on him AFTER he was in the water and trying to stay "head up", but that he had to keep kicking to keep his head above water. He went under and the PFD slipped off over his head. He struggled to keep his head up afterwards but couldn't do it long enough between gulps of air because of the incoming wake from the boats shutting down (3 including the WP boat). Did he have a few drinks? Probably. Was he so wasted that it justified him being arrested and taken into custody? Or was he taken into custody because he had drank "some" alcohol and was a few months shy of his 21st birthday? The uncuffed PFD clad patrolman was in the water less time than the boy, and was said to be "totally exhausted". I feel worse for the kid (and his family). The "alcohol related" thing can be laid upon every single accident that occurs. If it's a REAL SAFETY CONCERN then why is alcohol served at establishments where folks have to eventually leave....and must travel by road/water to do so? Again....What was the reason for the stop/check? Was there any problem with the way the boat was being operated? I'm so sure that nobody here ever had a few shots of liquor before their 21st B-day.....and if you did then WHO made it possible ? You get drunk and cause an accident then you deserve your punishment. You get buzzed in a state where serving alcohol is legal but get yourself home safely without causing any problems then you deserve to be left alone instead of handcuffed and treated like public enemy #1. The whole thing is stupid.
