  1. Sounds like y'all are doing more boat riding than fishing.
  2. I've been told 70.00 but again....never heard of anyone having to pay it.
  3. Does anyone know anyone that has ever been fined? Just curious what the charge was called. Whenever I'm down there it seems that I am the only one paying any attention to those lines.
  4. I haven't done much F'nF but I would think a slip bobber rig would be better, no?
  5. http://www.nationalrivers.org/states/mo-law.htm http://www.mostreamteam.org/ http://www.lmvp.org/kayakswarm/PaddlersGuide/index.html http://www.missouricanoe.org/map.html
  6. Hog, spend a few hours down there, look around, breath the mist.... and you'll understand why nobody talks about it. Take hand sanitizer.
  7. Never. That's a buncha false flag marketing BS Can't argue with the "quiet" advantage, but the fuel difference throughout a typical day of fishing could be held in your coffee cup.
  8. What he said ^^
  9. Now there's a bit of a contradiction That will make someone a fine little outboard.
  10. So you think my assumptions are less accurate than the ones printed in the news story?
  11. Well ! I can tell ya one thing for certain; An incident like this would never happen on MY watch because hiking 16 miles to a place that can easily be driven to in the car is beneath MY level of intellect and reasoning. And I wpuld hope that a USAF veteran/ Dept. of Defense guy is considerably smarter than ME. Heading out like that with two 100+ lb. Kids and a dog of whom I would be solely responsible for ???? Hell, something as common and likely as a twisted ankle and you've got major problems. How far can you carry a 10 year old while encouraging the 8 y/o to keep up and keep the dog corraled...yet still expect to get home before dark? Puleeeze! When you stop to think about it and put yourself in his (Dads) shoes you really gotta wonder if the real reason they headed out in the first place had NOTHING to do with an "enjoyable hike". More likely than not it was to escape a (typical family vacation style) ongoing verbal assault from you know who. "He's been known to hunker down and wait out storms" she says. Uhhhh hu, I bet he has. Poor basturd. LOL
  12. Man, this is really tough. I have a great crab story, but if I tell mine everyone else is gonna tell theirs.....and I REALLY don't wanna initiate that. LMAO
  13. L.MAO! I caught that....it went "sShooom"! But I caught it
  14. Dying in the $#itter..... now that would suck.
  15. It didn't get below freezing until the middle of the night, did it? They had hours to get "somewhere". Maybe his "hunker down" tendencies were what did them in. If they had kept moving in any direction I would think they could have found a road, but who knows.
  16. This is the first time that I have heard of anyone getting caught in a cold rain and actually freezing to death in this part of the country. I'd normally consider the possibility of getting caught in conditions like that to be miserably uncomfortable at the worst, but not deadly. I guess you never know.
  17. There are some important missing details here, the reporter/publisher of this story really did a 1/2ass job.....either do the story or don't. The reporting (as it stands) makes no sense. They throw in the details of who he worked for and for how long. And that the rescue party all prayed together....yet leave out things like how far they were found from the cabin, and if an impassable creek was what kept them from getting back. The whole story seems "leading" doesn't it? Something weird going on here. Nobody survived but the dog. Was it really THAT BAD of a storm?
  18. The guys fishing nearby seem less than impressed. I suppose that hotties loose a certain degree of sexiness when they start outfishing you.
  19. Yeah, and 4 rubber legs, and a little piece of yellow foam on top so I can see it.
  20. A hard core reality that nobody wants to agree with or even hear about is that our society has evolved into a totally overpopulated, out of balance mess. And maybe nature is just taking over by doing what nature does..... trying to repair itself. We resist because of empathy and love for others but in the end nature will have its way and obtain a healthy balance. Floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, forest fires....none of those things are pleasant when they are happening, but the end result is always good. I don't think it is possible to eliminate or even substantially decrease killings any more than you can eliminate or decrease other "disasters". It is just an unpleasant and hurtful thing that periodically happens.....some years more than others. And that's all there is to it, period, end of story.
  21. Drill a hole in the top near the tail section, stick a piece of a plastic coffee stir stick (or similar) in the hole to act as a stop to keep the balls from going all the way back where they can get wedged. Epoxy it closed. Or give it to your partner and hope like hell he doesn't outfish you with it. Or hang it on a limb in a precarious location near the boat ramp and count how many guys fall out of their boats trying to get it. Or make a key chain out of it. No I got it...... Super glue it to the walkway of the courtesy dock.
  22. How much stronger background checks? Can you draft an example of the ideal background check ? Report mental illness to whom?
  23. Oh hell yes, and I'd rather have a root canal. LOL
  24. ROFLMAO! Wonder if any others are gonna get canned?
  25. THAT makes sense to me. I was under the assumption that it had to be examined under a black light or something to detect the "hidden signature". But yeah, if you dug a few up and they were all "not normal" looking, you'd probably leave that patch and go looking elsewhere. So the people/person that got busted actually tried to sell some crazy colored roots? Who the hell did they think would buy it? LOL
