  1. Looks like the team on the Mo./Mec. acted reasonable. My hand goes out to them.
  2. This is what happens when lawmen can't find enough REAL stuff to do. They gotta justify the importance of their job out there or they'll be in the unemployment line or doing lowly security work at a factory somewhere. Everyone makes a big deal about how wild and unruly the waterways have gotten, and they DEMAND more lawmen patroling...... Then when the lawmen get there in great numbers to address this reported craziness they have to look hard as hell to find anyone doing anything wrong. Those massive fines for piddly infractions are a result of everyones exaggerated claims of rampant lawlessness.
  3. No Al, it's not "ok". Neither is making up hypothetical situations and claiming that they happen routinely in order to get a point across.
  4. Yeah she's a "victim" because her eyes couldn't look in any other direction. LOL When I was 14 my mom pulled some cookies fresh out of the oven, she told me to wait.....but I just couldn't.....OUCH ! Am I a victim?
  5. About the only thing "legal" you can do anymore is watch the news, sleep, and pay your taxes. Try doing anything else and chances are you're riding the fence on legality.
  6. Ok fine, you win. But after all the "fun seekers" are legally brow-beaten back into their homes for good and are all on probation or in jail....THEN will you please go after the cows and destructive runoff sources ?
  7. Was that accident a product of drunken thuggery? I was under the impression that the only alcohol involved is what was in the fuel tank.
  8. With an education and street smarts like you have, who needs a legal mediator to keep you safe from the dreaded river thugs? I'm confident that you'll be ok.
  9. If they are doing actual harm to other people, animals, or the waterway and surrounding land.....then I absolutely agree.
  10. First off what I am promoting is being friendly and at peace with folks that aren't harming anything. Seeing someone partying and ASSUMING that they will rape and pillage the next woman or wimp that they see is freakin' ate up paranoia, dude. When was the last time any young girls got raped on the river for Gods sake? Those people you run into kickin it on the river are the same folks you deal with every day, they are students, teachers, factory workers, grocery store employees, ect. Y'all are growing some weird s#it in the gardens of your mind and I'm just curious about who's doing the planting.
  11. I guess I'm just a tad less uptight or a bit more easygoing than most. I've spent alot of time on the waters of this state and have only had 3 unpleasant encounters, one was a threesome of vietnamese weirdos and the other two were lawmen ( and no I wasn't doing anything even remotely questionable, and they actually acted quite "put out" that I wasn't). The encounter with the supposed non english speaking hoods I was capable of handling just fine without the help of any badged heros. Seen a few drunks on the rivers and lakes....usually they are free entertainment until I get tired of them....then I move on. Never saw a reason to help feed another lawyer just cuz a guy (or gal) shows their butt, whether literally or mentally. Apparently I missed you mentioning it, The dead giveaway for me was when you said I was "wasting your air". I've hung out with a handful of LEO's (have a few in the fam) and there's a definate pattern to that cliche, they must use it heavily in training. Sad attitude IMO but I'm sure in this instance it was merely said in jest.
  12. Your welcome but I didn't do it, YOU DID ! Kudos to ya for stopping and taking the time to figure everything out proper before going forward. That's a sweet lookin' rig.
  13. A water pump R&R is 0.8--1.5 hr. labor/ plus parts.
  14. I keep my butt-chewings referee'd by always answering calls via speakerphone. She never knows who might overhear her......and she doesn't wanna be thought of as a nag, so everything always goes very democratically. I also learned this really cool line from Trout Commander that I'm keeping in my holster, but haven't gotten to use it yet thanks to speakerphone.
  15. Yep. I know it's a bit confusing because most come from the factory in a "2 lips up" position, but for freshwater use "back to back" is the way to go. Use a little gasket sealer if the seals don't have the red or yellow coated brass/aluminum, and fill the void between the seal lips with grease before seating the pump base. The single "lip up" shift shaft seal acts as an excess pressure vent so all other seals (propshaft and driveshaft) can go back to back.
  16. Uh oh, The law is here. Sorry Officer, I didn't realize that was YOUR air I was breathing LOL Maybe you could enlighten us criminal types. I'm not soset in my ways that I can't be reasoned with. Looking forward to learning something here.....
  17. Hell F&F, there's way more rotten behavior going on in churches than there is on the rivers. I think we need more cops in there!
  18. I certainly have him to thank for helping me learn how to fish. I suppose I did pay for it by purchasing the rags that featured his input, but that's one of the few writers that always gave his readers WAY more than they were paying for. Thanks Homer
  19. I had a 2000 Lowe 180 Striker/ 115 Johnson and it took alot of lake ozark beatings and kept coming back for more. A F2 tornado ate it or I'd still be fishing out of it. I prefer riveted aluminum hulls over welded aluminum and I absolutely loved that boat, it was fast, safe, and could do it all. I'd strongly suggest the 18 footer over the 17.
  20. Yeah I've got two of them, but telling either one would screw up your long standing record of always being right.
  21. Haven't experienced that situation but I have been stuck in quicksand on the Mississippi. My brother and I used to play in it and thought it was funny.... It wouldn't be one bit funny if you were by yourself with nobody to help you get out.
  22. Nobody needs COPS to protect their children.... that's the parents job. Cops are for protecting doughnuts....and that's serious business. Don't interfere with that by asking them to babysit your dang kids. Jerry Sandusky coulda just as easily been a cop ya know.
  23. The thing is; the saturation attempts are about building revenue, .08 is not dangerously hammered, it is mildly buzzed. In my insignificant opinion if you have to make someone blow into a machine to tell if their "overly intoxicated".....then you should prolly just leave them alone and allow them to enjoy themselves.
