What do you guys use to help keep ice build up off of rods and line?

Good looking fish there Bo. Looks like some nice LM are still out deep. I fished the Polar bear series yesterday and we weighed in 11.98 lbs of SM for 2nd place. We only caught 2 LM all day and they were culled by the SM. We had 8 keepers all day. Caught all of our weight by 930 and the night bites were few and far between. No wind and blue bird skies. We did break 2 off that felt like bigger fish but we will never know.

Hopefully will get down on Friday afternoon for the weekend. Hope they biting better

Late Weekend Report. Table Rock 1, me 0.
Alex Heitman replied to abkeenan's topic in Table Rock Lake
I went this past weekend and could not get a shallow bite going besides on Saturday evening when the wind pick up heavily in a pocket and got lucky when they started feeding. All of my fish came out deep on a jig 20-30 ft on points and in some timber spots with ledges. We didn’t load the boat but caught enough to keep it interesting. All of our fish were mostly keepers but no studs. Big fish was a 19 inch SM. Most fish were small mouth and K’s. Only a couple LM -
Anyone been fishing lately? Going up today instead of fishing table rock because table rock has been super tough. Probably will be up in the Nianguas or the Osage. Just looking for some info to get started. Shoot me a PM. Thanks guys

Nice fish Bo. We fished the dam area last weekend and we did not have a lot of success. The places I had been finding them a month ago were not producing. A month ago you could go out on the long points and throw a deep crank in the 15-20 ft range and catch a bit load plus some big walleye. Very little success in those areas. I think they moved out a little further off the points and are suspended. We did find some chases in the back end of some coves on the last deep spot but there were mostly singles chasing but they weee nice LM. Never did get a shallow bite going. Did catch some in sunday morning on a tube which seemed to be the better deal by docks

We have a jet. We might try boiling springs access this time. We put in in the big piney and ran quite a ways down to the gasconade last time and some spots were pretty hairy up through there. We hit a big rock on the jet but only bent the one of the grates luckily. Probably won't do that again until the rivers get up a little bit.

With Jerome closed are they any boat access spots that are close to this area? I've heard of highway 28. Is that right at the 28 bridge on the right? My buddy and I are planning a trip on Friday after work and a looking for somewhere close to Rolla.

Like I said before we have a big dock with lots of boats on and have solar and we haven't had a problem. We usually fish until dark and charge our batteries at night and no issues at all. Sure it might be a little expensive but I think it's more safe for the lake. Think about all the electrical lines in the water when we had the high water event this year and the previous years. The lines may be safe but I have always felt sketchy with the electrical lines.

We have had solar on our 20 slip condo dock for over a year now and it works great. It has an inverter switch that you turn on to get power and it stays on for 4 hours then turns off. We have lights and outlets at every stall and have never had a problem. We even fished a lot during the winter and our batteries charged just fine.

Great time fishing this weekend The bite is great. Morning is the best but they will bite most of the day. Some are still shallow and some are deeper but not that deep. I think most of the LM are still less than 15 ft. Had a great weekend with my brother. We caught LM, SM, K's, whites, and 2 big walleye. We fished Dam to Kimberling. Water temp 82-84. Big girl weighed 6.43. Dad caught a minter white that weighed 3.48 the weekend before.

I need a PM from Dave or James on this secret lure you speak of!

I like to go on late evening and early morning raids on this talked about cove and dock with a wiggle wart, 5xd, or whopper plopper. I have not been since the lake level went up 12 ft but I would all security systems are down so have fun while it lasts guys

Speaking of throttle cables, if you replace it make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing replace it. I help replace one in my brothers bigger boat and in was a pain -
Ramp or parking lot to lauch/load boat
Alex Heitman replied to Alex Heitman's topic in Table Rock Lake
By the dam -
Is there any ramps/parking lots you can launch/load a boat right now? Our boat is on a lift and we need to take it in to get serviced and have new trolling motor put on. We will be coming down on Friday morning.

I think the COE does a great job for the most part. In this situation we are in now, I think a lot of it could have been prevented. All the area lakes were rising a lot before the rain over the weekend came. It had been projected all week we would probably see 6 inches or more. When you seen the lake is rising and a huge flooding event is expected, I think they should act a little more since the lake was already above normal pool. I mean we are really lucky it didn't rain anymore, or it could have been a real disaster.

Sold out now I bought them all

Best Casting Rod for Skipping Boat Docks
Alex Heitman replied to Mitch f's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
I like a 6' 10" rod med heavy with a soft tip for skipping docks and cover. If I go longer I lose accuracy because I tend to lift up more on the rod on the sidearm skip due to the angle of a longer rod. A shorter rod is easier to control in those tighter places for me. I use 12 or 15 lb fluro depending on the conditions -
Ultrex vs Xi5 Minn Kota vs MotorGuide GPS Lock
Alex Heitman replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
I have a question. We have a Nitro Z-9 with a motor guide tour digital. Does anyone know if you have to make the recessed tray for the pedal bigger to fit the MK ultrex trolling motor? I think you do and I was just wondering if anyone has gone through this already. -

I'm hoping we do not get that much rain. KY3 posted a pic on Facebook that shows between 6-8 in. Here it is. If we get that much rain we will be up in the high 920's in no time
