  1. That sure doesn't sound like a blast to me. A few casts toward the front of the boat and the rude fellow might have gotten a clue even if he couldn't talk.
  2. Yes. That is Hammond
  3. Jeremy, I really appreciate your work and the update. Since we are seeing much less mortality amongst the hybrid bass perhaps consideration could be given to significantly increase the stocking rates of this specie. However, I do love catching those stripers!
  4. I have heard of a possible striper kill down by the dam. Does anyone have details?
  5. MoCarp - You should officially display your Fake News card when posting pictures without context.
  6. I threw the smaller version at bass busting shad in mid April and between the two of us we caught 59 bass. Average size around 2 1/2 pounds. I'm hooked for life.
  7. The NWS drought maps indicate drought currently in place in parts of Arkansas and Missouri that are under water. It is a useless bureaucratic exercise and has no relation to actual drought conditions. It is in fact classic government incompetence.
  8. I have to say I like your easy going attitude. I'm hitting LOZ this weekend and I might regret teasing you about the release zones before I leave on Wednesday.
  9. Look, anybody that posts that they actually fished the release ramp after a bass tournament has got to be pulling our chain. We've all laughed about doing this after we have had a tough day on the water but surely no one would really do this and furthermore you sure would not post it to the OAF.
  10. Nice job Dan. It was great to meet you this weekend. I appreciate your walleye tips.
  11. I just dipped for crappie. Eight foot down in 14 feet of water. Pretty standard Mark Twain pattern.
  12. You can catch some pretty decent crappie right now if you are willing to brave the cold.
  13. I'm headed out tomorrow. Nothing like 14 degree wind chills to get those crappie biting. I have bourbon in the cabin as a backup if the fish won't bite.
  14. I have already confirmed. I look forward to meeting the OA guys and learning from Bink.
  15. I have heard recent rumors that a plan has been put into place to remove the western half of the Dawt dam. Does anyone have some current information concerning the dams status?
  16. I have not been back. There is ice on some of the lake already.
  17. Fished a bit Sunday. 23 degrees when we launched. Caught several dozen small crappie but managed 9 keepers with the biggest a tad over 12 inches. One nice white as a bonus.
  18. Thank you for posting. I'm pretty much done until April.
  19. Did you notice any hybrid or white activity?
  20. I thought I was the only guy that threw at surfacing stripers just to watch them go down and move on. A rapid moment of unrealistic optimism followed by hours of "What the heck should I have been throwing!".
  21. People who keep bass at Table Rock are like Trump voters. They are probably all around you but just don't want the argument. (By the way, I have never kept a Table Rock bass).
  22. On a positive note. I read Cindyjo's post about locating the fish on the graph and throwing the kastmaster spoon. I am a pretty decent fisherman but I really struggle on the deep bite. I followed the advice and tried my luck in 40 feet of water with plenty of fish on the graph. Despite my lack of confidence with a spoon I caught crappie on my first two casts. What a hoot. I spent the rest of the trip chasing surfacing whites but I'll sure go back to the spoon next year.
  23. I'm thinking an under spin with a small swim bait could be effective on the whites. If they are deeper maybe a kastmaster spoon fished horizontal?
  24. Thank you fishinwrench. I'm trying again on Friday and I will concentrate on the type of areas you indicated.
  25. Spent some time on the lake Sunday and we were hoping to find the white bass chasing shad but I could find no surface activity and even when I found shad in the back of a shallow cove I could not get any love. We ended up with 7 big whites but it took half a day to get that done. No real pattern for us. Lipless crank baits with fish scattered randomly. We put in at PB2 and it was a real washing machine out on the main lake. One of the big ocean going vessels went past us about 40 times. I guess he thought it was entertaining to watch our boat surf the waves like something out of A Perfect Storm. Weather was great and we had a lot of fun even if the numbers were less than we had hoped.
