  1. As of now we are planning to come down in September sometime. We would have liked to make it in October but I have my first ever antelope hunt planned in October out in WY.
  2. After the initial stocking many years ago this pond has had no additional stocking or feed of any kind put in. It is all just nature taking its course. No Florida strain up here either. It is the same pond I caught this 9-7 out of a few years ago after me and buddy shot a limit of doves in the morning. The pic doesn't do this fish justice at all. Should have long armed it I guess. LOL. When I got it to the boat and grabbed it I told my buddy it was the biggest bass I had ever caught as it was easy to tell it was bigger than my best of 7-15.
  3. It is actually in your state of KS; north central part.
  4. Because we really love it down there for one. For 2 we really like catching smallies. When down there we always focus on the smallies; any other fish is just a bonus.
  5. Since the virus stopped us from coming down this year we did some fishing up here. Have had decent luck up here (other than splitting my lip open) when it wasn't too windy to get the bass boat out. It was too windy to get the bass boat out on a bigger lake up here a couple times so we went to the in-laws pond and largemouth fished. We did 'alright' with 30lbs 1oz for best five the first day(pics below) in 4 hours of fishing with a 6-14 the biggest, a 6-7, 6-0, 5-6 and 5-6. Fished it one other day for 5 1/2 hours and caught 3 over 6lbs and 6 over 5lbs and a few 4+ but didn't keep track of 5 biggest that day. We still would have preferred to be down there but at least this was a good consolation prize.
  6. At least you didn't end up needing stitches in your lip. LOL
  7. That is a nrx 901s. Very sensitive rod too. I personally like to feel everything. I have gotten where most of the time I can tell a little bluegill bite from a bass bite so I am not jerking at everything. Let the bluegill nibble until the real thing hits the ned. Wish we would have been able to come down; I would have let you take one for a day to try out.
  8. Replace it with a Loomis NRX 901s or 902s. Fantastic Ned rods.
  9. Want me to take a pic of the trails on the graph from when we are down there; so you can show the boy that 'exploring' means having to actually go get gas when done for the day. LOL
  10. Must have been a bad day if you actually started the big motor and burned a gallon of gas. LOL
  11. I wholeheartedly agree I outkicked my coverage. Let it be known for the record though; she asked me out first.
  12. Pretty sure Port of Kimberling is still open.
  13. Edited: found the link I posted is not working.
  14. Friends and family say I can turn anything said into a sex joke somehow. LOL
  15. LOL. Nope this is a family friendly forum; can’t say that stuff here. Rest assured with working in the trades I can curse with the best of them when needed. You know when you watch a show and hear more beeps than words; yeah it was like that. LOL
  16. You are killing me Bill. We were supposed to be down there for 2 weeks starting Friday but this stupid virus screwed that up. Wife's work says if she travels out of state she had to quarantine for 2 weeks after getting back. We are NOT happy about not being able to come down.
  17. First words were; I just busted my lip wide open and will need stitches. Her response was; what? let me see. After that is when I started the cussing about it happening.
  18. There was/maybe still is a place in Omaha, NE that is known for their fried carp. Place is called Joe Tess’s. Their fish flour is really good.
  19. LOL. She got a good laugh out of that too.
  20. We put him back. Was funny when she first hooked it; the thing came up and jumped out of the water like a dolphin. She about crapped when she saw it. LOL
  21. Didn't give me any grief. I could tell she was disappointed at first thinking we had to quit fishing but perked right up when I said we were not quitting. LOL All smiles again here.
  22. It was actually some type of medical glue. She has in a med kit made up that we carry in the boat. It is not as strong as super glue but I didn't want to close my mouth to find out how strong it actually is. LOL Surprisingly it didn't really hurt too bad. When I looked in the mirror at home I thought 'man that should have hurt way more'.
  23. A little while after splitting my lip open the wife snagged this buffalo in the tail with a ned on 6lb line. Had to chase it around with trolling motor but eventually got it in the boat. Felt heavier than the 40lb sacks of dog food we buy.
  24. Well because of this stupid virus; a trip we had coming up had to be cancelled. So wife and I went fishing instead of getting ready for the trip. Slipped in the boat and hit corner of open rod locker door; cut my lip all the way through. Wife glued it together some so we could keep fishing. She is a doc so she sewed me up when we got home. Pics are from after we got home and I got all the med glue ripped off so she could stitch me up.
  25. Yep and supply of the color I want has been none. At least after Dave's kids grew up and didn't want to or couldn't help anymore. LOL Dave; can you please have some more kids or adopt a couple so you have labor to make ned heads?! LOL LOL
