  1. Good one!!
  2. Upon further review, looks like lower part of leg was hit but maybe still a large artery. Or could have fallen out from where ever and just laying there.
  3. Note the arrow to the right maybe in one of the hind quarters. Too bad it didnt make someone's freezer.
  4. Brings an unusually large smile to my normally emotionless facial features. My daughter and wife catching them did same. Thanks!
  5. Something about those "pretty" baits and the variety of manufacturers, colors and sizes that every year make my wallet much lighter. And there is not another bite that I just can't wait for than that late winter/early spring pattern. Plus, funny how I tend to fish the same ol' favorite most of the time. I can get by with a handful of other types of baits but jerkbaits............not! Maybe early winter 2014 jerkbait bite on the way? Yes, Duo Realis jerkbaits do look good.
  6. South side of Clevenger, multi-points & docks hold fish year-round. Also swimming minnow/grub or finesse worm (shakey head, n*d rig, splitshot) will do the trick for number of bites or multi-species. Watch for topwater. Best of luck.
  7. Only have 5 Redfins & all work pretty good. Some a bit better than others. Some are my favorites. Have caught many a bass at TR, LOZ and small lakes, and stripers at Cape Cod. Hook change out, bent front eye down a bit, plus oval split ring on front. No sweat, cast 'em out, reel 'em, hook that fish & get it in the boat. Folks make too much fuss over them. Good bait.
  8. My first thought was crappie seeing spotted tail. Good pic.
  9. Any clues for us on that crankbait bite? Lipless through the schools? Deep? Squarebill? Also did topwater continue past first few hours? Great job. Good looking fish.
  10. These bass will eventually be released back into Table Rock, but right now are being held at a top-secret location, being indoctrinated to completely avoid all small jig/worm combos (AKA N Rg), all dropshot baits and also the Aunt's Creek area.
  11. Final results?
  12. Never have to "drive hook through plastic" as I use the "side" skin hook method. Hook is through side of worm like splinter barely under the skin of your finger. Pops out immediately for sure hook-up. When night fishing how much do you think that small jig profile difference makes?
  13. Is deep crankbait bite more of a summer or fall pattern. Have done well in Spring for quality Kentuckys. Just wondering.
  14. "you'll be fine with the 6-pound P-Line although I'll make one disclaimer ... I love P-Line but their diameter tends to be a bit larger (and stronger) than other monos in the same pound test. " Sounds as if, regardless of what the label says, if your 6-pound P-line's diameter is larger & it's stronger than others @6#, it's probably not really 6#. Guess I just dont get it.
  15. Well, line size/type is important, but I put it somewhat lower on my priority list. I use quality lines in the 8 - 15 lb range at Table Rock and most Missouri lakes, mostly 10 & 12, and am successful by some standard. Line visibility at depth and in low light scenarios not so much of an issue. I'm sure that for shallow water & ultra-finicky fish on flat-water, bluebird sky days it can pay off. But as I mentioned on another post, finding the aggressive, active fish and feeding them baits you know they will bite is my (over-simplified) "top of the list". Good fishing!
  16. Life is too short. Find hungry fish and feed them baits they will eat without hesitation. Sometimes that is a $20 bait, sometimes it is $1.05 weight, hook & plastic worm.
  17. Uuhh........swamping my boat and endangering my family's life is not assault?
  18. AAD, Yeah, wakeworld site reads like the w/boarders broke the law regardless of where the fisherman was (50' is not = to 100'). Fisherman's response was bad also. Most all those on that site were concerned about unsafe practice of casting baits (hooks) but not a one brought up the issue of massive wakes and safety of others.
  19. Just found this. Very interesting. Table Rock Pool History (Yearly Min/Max) http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Portals/50/docs/tablerocklake/Pool%20History-%20Table%20Rock%20%20(4).pdf Wow, looks like as power production went on line in June of '59, the 2nd half of that year saw the lake rise over 50 feet. Can you imagine watching that lake growth take place as Table Rock was born?
  20. Someone in the know? Lowest lake level, plus month & year. What was bite like then. How did that impact bite following years. Seems like late 70s it was around 896. Obviously not including levels when in fill stages. Thanks.
  21. Bill, Didn't know you worked that little george bite. One of my favorites is 1/4 oz silver hammered with hook upgrade. Can be hot for numbers and size, long casts, quick to the bottom bite also.
  22. Been waiting. Looks good. Vgood colors. I know it's suppose to go a little deeper than WW but interested in how it reacts when used very shallow.
  23. Thought I read of one up King's River over 12 maybe late 70s or year lake was19' low. Anyon e remember that newspaper article??
  24. Excellent report as usual. Vgood photos also. Thanks lots.
