Sometimes they will be on both, or only one of the other.
To me, a swing plummets vertically more than a steep rocky bank does. Although some of those can be pretty darn vertical too.
Strike King and Terminator sold the elaztech baits originally, back around 2000. Labeled as Snap Back, and 3x. Zman made the goop then, started selling baits later. Not sure what the relationship is.
SK and Zman elaztech baits are the same animals, made by Zman.
That's the elaztech difference in a nutshell.
Various heads will impact the angle too. That's why we are so committed to the button style, with no collar. Collars tend to shift the balance down the shank, making it harder for the bait to stand up.
Seems ridiculous to fret about a tiny amount of lead like that, but it's actually more critical on a small jig than on a big on. It's one of the reasons we haven't started making a lighter head than 1/16.
And I should have clarified that I wasn't including your deal. I was thinking specifically of some big outfits like Larew, BPS, Chompers, and a few others, that have all jumped on the wagon.
The deal with Larew sending out samples is just weird.
Lot of companies are trying to jump in on that little rig deal. If it's not elaztech, it's really almost destined to end up in the clearance bin. Just my couple of pennies.
Larew was sending out free samples of their bait. I have them laying here on the coffee table. Wouldn't drop dollar one on them.
The lack of salt is kind of the deal breaker for me. Swimbaits aside, I do much better with the elaztech baits that have a high salt content, finesse, or otherwise.
I threw the boar hogz at fish this summer and they wouldn't touch it. Switched back to a regular plastic jig tail or swing head bait and they were on it. Have had the same happen with some of their craws and other baits. Just one of those things.
The little pointers are worth throwing at school fish, even down to the 65 (?) size (smaller than the 78). Good opportunity to match shad size, and a bait you can leave in place by fish.
I know Ned has done fairly well with the prototype of that Zman finesse creature. Similar to the old puddle jumper. But it looks like the Boar Hogz, and like it's maybe the same mix with less salt. If so, Zman can keep it.
Would love a smaller version of the Palmetto Bugz though.
