Champ I'm sure you can remember some of the best baits you have thrown had most of the paint missing, I know some of mine have been this way.
-
Bo, I have one that looks similar to your's, instead of the yellow, I used chartreuse shimmer and painted with my left hand.
-
They have a junior version that will sometimes catch a few.
-
That's a good thing, it's just like those buzz baits you throw , their at their best just before they come apart.

The excalibur jerk bait is not made anymore, there are a few small tackle shops around that still have them. The elite 8 rogue is almost the same bait, it has a different lip , but has almost the same action. Best water temp , in my opinion is from 42 to 55 degrees. The time to start throwing it is January 1 it will catch fish all year, May, June, and September are the months I throw it the least. Some of my heaviest catches on it have been in late July and August, so it does work in warmer water.

I'm 100% in agreement with your opinion this time, to me it is a combination of color phases(translucent, or opaque), then most important of all is the action. An example of this would be , last year pulled up on a drop that had one lone stump on it in 8 feet of water, in seven casts with a pro blue bandit caught a fish on each cast , the last fish got me hang up and broke the bill on bait. I then switched to a similar colored xcalibur on a different rod, working it the same way, after four cast to the same spot , nothing, changed the cadence and caught 5 more on consecutive casts.

Best thing about those brutes that I found was you could turn it with that little orange arrow when the steering cable broke. I had plenty of experience doing this. Finally bought an omc troller to replace it . Had another motor guide on 95 model boat for about 6 months, found out motor guide trollers don't like me. -
It's a park that were still able to use, with the corp the other alternative would probably been to close it or some of the other parks in the area. I know that this has happened on the ozark pool of the river. Two of the parks that are open are being kept open one by the city of mulberry and the other by a group of individuals. It would be nice if someone kept a park open for us to use and we didn't have to pay anything, but someone has to pay for the upkeep. What I'm trying to say is it may be greed but because of someone"s greed we still have access to the lake and we should be thankful for that.

Jerk baits: My 12 month bait, fishing the river it,s all about the current, when it flows they bite, when it doesn't the jerk bait will sometimes work. It worked this past saturday to the tune of 6 fish in 2 1/2 hours, lost more than I caught, 5 of these were hooked on the back hook, know that 2 more that I lost were hooked the same way. Started to change to different color or style maybe to get better hookup, but thought that might be to much trouble. Did throw square bill some and only had one bite.

Burning baits: square bill, I have done well over the last month burning a square bill. Almost all of the bigger bass that I've caught on square bill have been burning it. Stopped on a community hole 4 years ago , first six casts yielded 1 drum, 1 sand bass, 1 small largemouth, and 1 decent kentucky all on moderate retrieve, after 8 or 10 more casts decided it's time to go, started reeling fast and bait stops, first thought I've got big ole drum now, it happens to be a 6+ largemouth, I'm convinced fish was there all the time and the added speed triggered the bite. I now burn a square bill most of the time. spinnerbait, Three trips come to mind involving burning a spinnerbait, two last fall at that oklahoma smallmouth lake, Tenkiller and the other this spring here at home. The first trip to tenkiller caught over 40 fish, 14 overs, before 10 am, fishing partner had 5 fish throwing same bait, only difference was speed of retrieve. The spring trip, started with 3/8 oz spinnerbait with oversized blades managed to catch 4 with 1 over 15 inches, switched to 1/2 oz screaming eagle with #4 trailing blade when I started burning it caught 17 in the next 1 1/2 hours.

Just tried it in cement pond on 3/16 oz shaky head, flat side up or down it took between 4 and 5 seconds to get to bottom, regardless of which way, rigged on side like gitnby rigs his took an additional 1 to 2 seconds to fall the same amount as it swims to the bottom hooked this way.

saw some at wally world last week.

Down here the power pole is used the most, have also heard of more problems with them maybe because of the greater number of them around. The only problems that have seen on talon is them sticking from mud and grit, and on boats with reverse sponsons there have been stability issues with the brackets, which will not be a problem with your application.

It got all the way to 46 here today.

On some hulls (skeeter zx & nitro z8 as examples) in side waves, the hull will lean right or left as it comes off the wave, therefore we correct this by turning the other direction to keep the boat level. The bass cat hull has a tendency to correct itself, therefore those of us that drive other models tend to over compensate when we feel it lean, which will make it go the other direction, as mixermarkb stated bass cat rewards someone that knows how to drive. What I,m saying is bass cat takes minimal steering correction, because it is so responsive. TRY THIS; Get in side waves, 45 to 50 mph or whatever speed you feel comfortable, keep steering wheel mostly straight you will be able to feel the boat right itself as it comes off the side waves. Have a friend that has driven ranger, skeeter, etc. went to bass cat two years ago was disappointed with the way the boat handled compared to the others. When he told me what was happening, I said you're overcorrecting. He will not part with it now, and has bought another for his son.

My response was to Balsabee's question, so what is it they perform well in. The reason the comparison was with the Puma,is because of his other question, say a bass cat. I have spent considerable time in both the Puma and Z8. Is bass cat the best built bass boat? Probably (my opinion). Does it out perform all other boats in every aspect? No (again my opinion). I have had several bass cat owners comment on how well the Z8 rides, they also tell me it's not bass cat fast. Bass cat builds there storage in the boat, this makes the boat more rigid(solid) it is also the reason the chop is felt more in the ride. Is this bad? No, but yes you can feel it more than in the Z8.

Nitro Z8, Basscat Puma comparison,250 proxs 26 fury Hole shot : about the same, nitro has less bow lift 20 to 35 mph: nitro does it better 35 to 70 mph:nitro ride is better (smooth),bass cat handles rough better(it drives itself in side waves) I will explain if needed. 70 to 80 mph: bass cat get's the nod,(they go fast) water to rough to run in(can't get on top and run without bounce or spearing), nitro with it"s ability to stay on plane at slower speeds, goes through the waves like a duck.

Ham, send me your address, I'll send you one to try.

I have a question. Wasn't V210 a color added by rapala?
