  1. Plus I was just following your lead
  2. That was a long time ago.
  3. Lighten up man, it's the internet. Don't be that cranky old white man who complains about anybody not like him.
  4. $1.55 for regular unleaded here in Ozark today.
  5. I get a flu shot every year early in the season. Can't remember the last time if ever I have had honest to gosh influenza. I'm sure that working around wastewater most of my life and having the habit of washing my hands often and in general being a little bit of a hygiene freak as a result of my work life didn't hurt. This little virus hiccup we're all living through is going to change a lot of people's lives for the better (disease wise) once it's over due to people paying more attention to how diseases are transmitted.
  6. It's a piece of steel cut to fit that will fill the angle between the deck and the bracket welded to both. Another thought is a piece of angle iron welded to the deck and the bracket. Any welding shop will be able to help you out.
  7. I'd add a gusset or two to get away from the rusted out area.
  8. 16,000 people died in the whole country from influenza / complications so far in this flu season. Can't see for the life of me how Missouri got hit with 23,000.
  9. That's the plan. Got out to preserve value, will get back in when things start to look better. Hope it's sooner than later, but with the global economic picture, I doubt we are anywhere near bottom now.
  10. I've given up on equities for now. Did it in 2008 too. We'll suffer for a while but be ok in the long run. Long run to me =/= 2021

    What's Cooking?

100% Mr. Ness. Expecially that part about lima beans. Lately we have found LeSeur peas with pearl onions AND with onions and mushrooms. Canned vegetables only get so good and LeSeur of any kind make that bar. But. For the truly best peas you need a grandmother. One who knows how to do and clean fresh boiled onions. And who has access to a decent quantity of English peas and knows how to parboil. And who knows how to make a proper béchamel (white creamy cheese sauce). Add all those up and combine and THEN you have the best peas ever.

    What's Cooking?

I had a post typed out. Out of respect for my friend Phil Lilley and people who can read and understand the English language but are offended by extremely graphic usage, this is all you will get. Suffice to say it came from my USMC days. So use your imagination.

    What's Cooking?

I love peas. Especially canned peas in tuna casserole with potato chips crumbled on top. Maybe Monday after we take possession of some egg noodles on Sunday. That's when our take out grocery order will be ready. Yes, we're taking it that serious. As to what's cooking, lots of things getting found in the freezer. Tonight it is sloppy joe from the last time grandkids were here. No buns so it's going on top of some pasta wheels that also need to rotate out of inventory. And a green salad for the side assuming lovey is cooperative there. Not suffering yet.

I need a ten foot pole before I even think about posting a real response to this one.

    What's Cooking?

Stop cooking them before they're really done. They'll finish on their own.
  17. If they would apply themselves in productive ways with as much effort, diligence and originality as they do to game the system, they would very likely be well ahead of where they find themselves now. I truly believe this to be true.
  18. I sight in my .270 1.5" high at 125 yards. Why 125 yards you may ask? It's because 125 is the distance from the front of my shop to the spot I shoot here in the backyard. And because I like to do things in my own peculiar way.

Scallops done right on the grill are my dead nuts absolute favorite seafood. Grilled shrimp are in second by a half a car length.
  20. Nearly every manufacturer of every load posts external ballistics data and charts. Also widely available for blackpowder shooting.

    What's Cooking?

And for dinner tonight, a lovely demi venison meat loaf (egged of course), baby bellas sautéed in good EVOO and a swiss melt on top. Green salad for a side.
  22. we got 3" last night. Things are rockin here.
  23. My grandson could not care less about getting dressed up and parading around in front of a bunch of people who don't care a lick about him but only their own kin. He got it honest. I wore shorts to my graduation and took off the robe as soon as we got outside.
  24. Not to be a smarty pants or anything but I sincerely hope nobody ever tells me I have cancer but not much. Get well Mr. Oneshot. You're a oneshot of a kind!

    What's Cooking?

And for lunch leftover ham, bean, carrot, celery soup and leftover cornbread. Cooked in a well preheated 8 1/2" Wagner ware skillet for a nice crispy bottom and side crust. Cornbread is still in the pan and warming in the oven so the texture stays right. Staying home and staying healthy and hoping all my OAF friends are getting along as good as we are. Bless you all.
