  1. Oyster shelf mushrooms are great. I'm going to grow them too.
  2. That's really the only thing that matters.
  3. You would. More for you that way, right?
  4. Good luck you numskull!!!

    What's Cooking?

Actually I'm making texas toast with mashed avocado and leftover rotisserie chicken sandwich. Poor folks and all that. Plus a dram of Jameson. Glad to be getting well again and more or less back to what I refer to as normal.

    What's Cooking?

I've given up cooking and eating until this pandemic is over.

    What's Cooking?

    Justifiable pride, totally justified.
  8. I will still shake hands with people I meet - did so a bunch of times today at a luncheon. Once the meet and greet was over - off to the restroom to wash my hands before even thinking about eating or drinking anything. Anytime there is contact with a shopping cart those wipes get used on the handles and my hands. Most places make it easy to watch out for that vector. I'm pretty aware of and avoid people who are coughing or sneezing or wiping their nose/face in public. It's about the best I can do short of using uber eats and screening the driver and restaurant staff.
  9. Everything now is "the big one". Thanks Fred Sanford for helping me to be skeptical.
  10. What's really good great is when Al Roker tells us how many millions of people are at risk of getting snowed on or rained on or blown about in the wind.
  11. Or shakes your hand at a meeting - even worse.
  12. I quit the best job I ever had at the time - Union Electric Environmental Services Department - because I just could not hack it in St. Louis / St. Charles any longer. Took a while, but in the end it worked out pretty good for me. I love where we live now. Rural five acre place in Christian County - ten minutes to Ozark and fifteen minutes to SGF.
  13. No joke. Here's hoping for a quick recovery.
  14. True. Would have been fortunate to have made it to 50.
  15. It's where they stage. Great spot for early season.
  16. My problem has always been living in the wrong century. I'd have loved to been alive in the 1700's or early 1800's. Things were a lot less crowded back then.
  17. Talley Bend
  18. Regardless of whether mortality is 2% or 4% it's not the big one like in "The Stand". Plenty serious enough to be sure and regardless of what dear leader has to say about it, the U.S. is non-exempt from Mother Nature. We're going to get our share of sick people. Thing is, I sure hope I don't get it but if I do I'd lot rather be sick here than in China or lots of other places.
  19. Pandemic is a reference to how widespread the disease is, not it's severity.
  20. What a remarkable special talent in a kind person too. RIP Ma'am.
  21. There were these four ironworkers who were good friends. Ate lunch together every day, hung out in the bar after work, did all kinds of stuff together. One day Jones fell off the 32nd floor to his death. The other three were distraught and couldn't decide who was going to have to tell his wife. Finally decided that Smith would do the job - they all said Smith, you got tact. So reluctantly, Smith called Mrs. Jones. When she answered he said "Are you the widow Jones?" She said "I'm Mrs. Jones but I'm not a widow." Smith says "The heck you ain't." Only being an ironworker and all he didn't really say "heck".
  22. Another good example.
  23. I never figured out how bees make honey either.
  24. There was this old gal in the nursing home who slipped in the old guy next door's room one night. She shook him awake and whispered "it's time for super sex". Old guy kind of half awake looks up and says "soup".
  25. I buy what's labeled as ethanol free premium for all my small engines. Put the first few gallons in the tank of the jeep, then fill cans. Always add Stabil at the end of season, and when possible, run the motor out of fuel. That's what the headman told me to do that time down in the Amazon jungle and I'm not going to risk activating his curse by disobedience.
