  1. It's really hard for me to respect anyone who just cannot admit it when they are wrong. And it's at least that hard for me to respect a welcher. If for nothing else, this thread has been solid gold when it comes to revealing who I need to ignore.
  2. Let's just start with the one in this thread about how wind generators never pay for themselves. Chief, I will bet you a dozen pickled eggs there is not one untrue statement acknowledged.
  3. Anybody want to talk about the Clean Water Act and what a waste it's been?
  4. Student loans are so boring though.
  5. There is this one little thing getting in the way of doing things this way.
  6. As soon as I can drive again I'll be more like Dutch.
  7. True. This is a pretty good recent look at the energy markets. Wind is for sure subsidized but according to the article, still lower cost than other sources taking out the effects of subsidies. https://blogs.ei.columbia.edu/2018/03/16/how-much-do-renewables-actually-depend-on-tax-breaks/
  8. I for one have always been a believer that markets eventually find the truth.
  9. Happy belated Birthday. That's a very nice TM!
  10. Bob says the same thing about white bass and I take your stand. Only maybe a little further. I swear they ruin the grease.
  11. This one. Seriously. If they never paid out do you honestly think there would be thousands and thousands of them all across the world?
  12. The part about wind turbines never paying out in this instance.
  13. If I was a wrench hater you'd be on ignore. I just don't buy all of your B.S. and call you on it. Don't be that guy who likes to dish it out but can't take it.

    What's Cooking?

Those are really pretty. Very apropos to the inspiration.
  15. The energy costs have to be included in the cost to build and install a wind turbine. A wind turbine with a design life 20 years is a net energy producer within five to eight months of installation. Break even on total installed cost, not just energy is around five years. Do you know that the cost/MW of wind is lower than the cost /MW for new coal fired power station? Do you ever research anything or just parrot what you "understand"?
  16. Have any of you guys ever heard of wind or solar generation?
  17. Must be nice to see things in such stark black and white. No shades of gray, no reason to conserve resources.
  18. You can snag from the bank on the Osage below the dam on the east side of the river.
  19. Correct. Maybe a couple.
  20. I want to give my sincere thanks to the software developers of this site for the ignore function. No . No . No . Just pure .
  21. You just described every hybrid on the road today. You are a genius!

    What's Cooking?

I am a big fan of a thick cut bone in pork chop. Known at this house as an Iowa chop. Whenever I was there to hunt lo, those may years ago, an Iowa chop was always what I ordered. The place we frequented had a homemade salad bar that had to be 30 feet long. Baked potato that came with was mostly a wasted effort.
