  1. Exact same experience here. Plus the jigs really are very nice.
  2. Me too!
  3. I would get the light/fast action rod. I too like the St. Croix premier rods, can't go wrong there if you ask me. Two others in that same price range I can recommend from personal experience are Temple Fork Outfitter's rods and if you can find one (they're now out of production but some are still around) a Shimano Clarus. I found one of those at the Branson Bass Pro Shop on sale for $72.00.
  4. Cant find a picture of the one from the Missouri River. This one was only 26. And I completely forgot about spoonbill. Don't have any pictures of those. Had some good days on the Spring River in the Twin Bridges area though. Good times!
  5. Uh sir, the question posed was specifically about jig fishing on the White at Buffalo City. Everybody knows you fished big jerk baits. You caught a couple of really nice fish lately. Congratulations, again.
  6. Ok, last time I ever mention Buffalo City. From now on out, it will be our little secret.
  7. Can't possibly say enough nice things about that river and Justin's deal. Just go.
  8. Jig fishing at Buffalo City is the way to do it. 1/16 at lower flows, 1/8 at higher flows. Ham hates the gold and silver head Zig Jigs, I really like them. My two current favorite colors are gold head olive/ginger and chrome head white/gray with red wrap. Tri olive is another stand by. So is olive/ginger with green head along with brown/orange. Zig jigs really are the deal. Ask anybody. I like to run up the shoal as far as I can and drift back. Be prepared to hit a rock or few. Quality fish there. Good luck.
  9. Yeah, that's probably it.
  10. That's a bad mamma jamma set of posts Justin. Keep them coming!
  11. whoa mister, you had best just stop that right there.
  12. Please explain what you feel I need to be enlightened about. I pretty much know it all already. Just ask my wife.
  13. Biggest fish I ever caught was an 85 lb. blue out of the Missouri River. Will try to find a picture to scan and post. Caught a shark about that same size off Myrtle Beach one time. The shark pulled a LOT harder then the blue.
  14. ^^ Two good lookers in that pic.
  15. I am a Philistine who cannot resist the temptation to fish a rainbow colored 3" or 5" countdown Rapala anytime I am up near the cable and the water is running. Cast 3/4 downstream on 4 lb test, count it down about six or eight and use an irregular retrieve - can nearly always do some damage that way. That was working pretty good Saturday morning while the water was on (before we saw you and Pete). Just one more way to fish the wonderful resource that Taneycomo surely is.
  16. Its the internet. Thin skin will never last. Bo doesn't seem to be very thin skinned.
  17. That's a pretty big jump. Any state record fish is a heck of a deal. Congratulations.
  18. Shadmasters Elite Tournament Trail Extreme Pro Guide model rods coming soon to a tackle shop near you.
  19. That fish is lucky you caught him instead of me.
  20. If it's big enough to use the Expo Center more than likely you will be able to find a thing or two that will be worth having. I'll swing by for a look, that's for sure. But for me it's a 20 minute drive, not two hours.
  21. What's the current state record gizzard shad?
  22. 6'6" Light Fast or Medium Light Fast. Why? Sensitive, good casting control, good fish control. On the LF rod will be nanofil with 4 lb maxima leader. On the MLF rod will be either the same set up with nano fil or 6 lb diameter Gama mono. The LF rod is a Shimano Clarus. The MLF rod is a Falcon Original. I'm happy with both of them. If I ever want anything heavier (seldom on the creek) there is a St. Croix 6'6" Medium/Fast rod. Trying an Okuma reel on it with 8 lb. diameter Gama. But I really got that one to chase whites and hybrids with, probably won't see much if any creek action.
  23. Thanks for a great time Phil.
  24. Wow.
