  1. Great report. Congratulations on some really good fishing.
  2. Great idea. I'd like to see the lifetime hunting and fishing permit option extended to deer and turkey. I'd also like to see more range facilities around the state, similar to what's at Busiek. Nothing major or really formal, just more places like that. I guess it's a stretch to see those as complaints but there you go.
  3. Nice one sir, very nice one. And about not the best photo. Agree. One of the worst. But it's the fish that counts right? One heck of a day. And it wasn't even terrible cold....
  4. You know what you have posted, or should.
  5. Same here. Ham is not only a great fisherman, he's a great friend. Super smart and super open and only wants to help other people catch fish. One of the best people I ever met from OAF. "One of" to all the rest of you. What a great site and with so many really really good people.
  6. Sad but I believe everything you say is true. The good part is there are a lot more good people down here than there are the other kind. That should also be recognized.
  7. It's a poor area with a lot of seasonal workers who are low paid when they are employed. Not to mention the whole meth thing that is still a deal. The motels got overbuilt in the last boom and the really borderline ones turned into basically apartments/extended stay places. It's not a good situation, basically the last stop before being outdoors.
  8. You are a brave brave man. Yesterday was way too cold for me to even think about fishing. BTW with you 100% on the smack talk.
  9. I'm less interested in how it fishes than how it looks. Sounds incredible in that department. Do follow up please.
  10. Two more comments: Your garage is way way too clean and neat. You are somewhere around 20 rod and reels short in that department. Get to work!
  11. It's sad that a lot of people don't care for success. It comes in a lot of colors sizes and shapes. Jealousy and small minds don't do it for me and never have and never will.
  12. Wednesday was nothing to write home about.
  13. Those old boats are classic. Great job sir, to me it looks better than new.
  14. I don't go fishing in the winter anymore without hothandz in both coat pockets. They really help. Glad you got out.
  15. Nothing but ads running one after the other for me.
  16. Got this reply back from my State Rep.
  17. I'll do my best. Vicey versey on meeting you too. It's already got a Daiwa Ballistic on it. Ham will give me trouble but it's spooled with 6 lb Gama mono. I think it will get a lot of use, so thanks again.
  18. Many thanks. You can hardly tell a reel has ever been mounted on that rod. If this was e-bay you would get 100% positive feedback.
  19. Most of the time you make a lot of sense. But not here. The squeaking wheel gets the grease. I understand that money talks, as well as anyone and better than most. But I also know from living next door to legislators that when their voters care enough to talk about whatever subject is at hand, they listen. Votes go different ways for different reasons. But I can assure you with 100% certainty that to disengage is to give up any hope of influence you ever had.
  20. Little known fact about Mr. grizwilson: He was appointed Honorary Grand Potentate of the spinning rod and reel workers full employment organization a few years back.
  21. Still a lot of snow. Safe travels.
  22. I tried 6 lb flouro on spinning rod. Line launching itself off the spool in a really pretty bird nest on every third cast or so got me off that.
  23. If there were anything better to wind line on a fixed spool I got to believe some little smart feller in Taiwan would be selling it to us. That's all any spinning reel is at the heart of it. A way to wind line on a stick. A stick made out of aluminum, or maybe graphite or something. Not a complicated thing until you want the thing to work really good and let the stick spin backwards at a controlled rate and the winding mechanism to feel smooth and all that.
  24. One other thing about nanofil. If you do happen to get a wind knot in it, they are a lot easier to get out than monofilament is.
  25. That's what I do too if twist starts to be an issue.
