  1. A 17/54 will be a nice stable river ride. Enjoy it in good health.
  2. Phil this page calls up some malware. Just FYI.
  3. That's good to hear. I've got a nice pair of Maui Jim's but based on what you posted will give Costa a shot next time I buy.
  4. Everybody has those days now and then.
  5. So.. that;'s a 20" + brownie?
  6. He must have been fishing it wrong.
  7. You look like you're trying to swallow one too.
  8. No way. Nice FISH!
  9. Should have fished the ned. Also known as the slump buster.
  10. I don't want to be negative Nancy but isn't it really just a matter of time before they make it basically everywhere they can survive?
  11. How's your back doing?
  12. I'm a nanofil believer now too. Thanks to our mutual friend Ham. I've figured out that Alberto knot is a lot easier to tie with four hands when you have eyes as old as mine. P.S. Hope your daughter's team won!
  13. Yeah, he could not keep his hand off the reel handle and that was probably the biggest difference. That and line size. A good rod can make a lot of difference too, but only if everything else is right.
  14. Were you in AR or MO if I may be so bold? And is that an Okuma reel?
  15. I floated Rush to Norfork once. Quite the little float trip. Highly recommended. Other places? I'm doing a four day deal on the Eleven Point in May with two of my grandsons and their dad. Hwy 19 to Myrtle. Its about 32 miles which is my idea of about right for a four day deal. No hurrying and plenty of time to fish, camp and enjoy yourself.
  16. $4.99 at Tackle Warehouse. I just bought four and will send you one in gratitude for the way you have treated me over your jigheads.
  17. That is why I like those little eze lap sharpeners. You can put a point on a salmon egg hook with those little devils. My standard for a sharp hook is if it wont slide across a fingernail and tries to hang.
  18. Glad to hear it is feeling better. Need to keep you around to teach old dogs new tricks.
  19. Many happy returns Mr. Bill Babler.
  20. 100% agreement on weedguard. Good video. You've seen the little ball head jig I've been using. Really landed there largely due to a weedguard that I could trim so it would give good hookups and still be hang up resistant. And price. Those $3.00 each Gamakatsu finesse jigheads wore me out. And again, thanks for everything.
  21. I had a similar experience when we lived in Jefferson City. Going home after George Birthington's Washday trip. Pulling a boat and watching it try to pass me on I-44 about five miles west of Marshfield. Wound up going down into the median where the grass straightened everything out and then all cool calm and collected like, just drove back up on the highway. And then started shaking. Talk about could have been worse.... That was before they fenced off crossing into the oncoming lanes. Wow, that was my lucky day.
  22. Threads like this one are a big part of what makes OAF such a great site.
  23. That was a heck of a fine day, made all the more so by doing that in winter. Great job, all three of you.
  24. Interesting.
  25. Good Lord they really are beautiful fish. And so many of them. We have been truly blessed .
