    What's Cooking?

I love peas. Especially canned peas in tuna casserole with potato chips crumbled on top. Maybe Monday after we take possession of some egg noodles on Sunday. That's when our take out grocery order will be ready. Yes, we're taking it that serious. As to what's cooking, lots of things getting found in the freezer. Tonight it is sloppy joe from the last time grandkids were here. No buns so it's going on top of some pasta wheels that also need to rotate out of inventory. And a green salad for the side assuming lovey is cooperative there. Not suffering yet.

I need a ten foot pole before I even think about posting a real response to this one.

Stop cooking them before they're really done. They'll finish on their own.
  5. If they would apply themselves in productive ways with as much effort, diligence and originality as they do to game the system, they would very likely be well ahead of where they find themselves now. I truly believe this to be true.
  6. I sight in my .270 1.5" high at 125 yards. Why 125 yards you may ask? It's because 125 is the distance from the front of my shop to the spot I shoot here in the backyard. And because I like to do things in my own peculiar way.

Scallops done right on the grill are my dead nuts absolute favorite seafood. Grilled shrimp are in second by a half a car length.
  8. Nearly every manufacturer of every load posts external ballistics data and charts. Also widely available for blackpowder shooting.

    What's Cooking?

And for dinner tonight, a lovely demi venison meat loaf (egged of course), baby bellas sautéed in good EVOO and a swiss melt on top. Green salad for a side.
  10. we got 3" last night. Things are rockin here.
  11. My grandson could not care less about getting dressed up and parading around in front of a bunch of people who don't care a lick about him but only their own kin. He got it honest. I wore shorts to my graduation and took off the robe as soon as we got outside.
  12. Not to be a smarty pants or anything but I sincerely hope nobody ever tells me I have cancer but not much. Get well Mr. Oneshot. You're a oneshot of a kind!

    What's Cooking?

And for lunch leftover ham, bean, carrot, celery soup and leftover cornbread. Cooked in a well preheated 8 1/2" Wagner ware skillet for a nice crispy bottom and side crust. Cornbread is still in the pan and warming in the oven so the texture stays right. Staying home and staying healthy and hoping all my OAF friends are getting along as good as we are. Bless you all.

    What's Cooking?

Honey nut cheerios, 2% milk and half an apple. The honey crisp apples are freaking HUGE right now!
  15. We are. You have bigger issues than we do. Hoping and praying for all.
  16. You're right again Mitch.
  17. For me at least, charity requires a degree or two of separation. I volunteered for a few weeks at our local food pantry. My job was to cut the bar codes off of canned food so people who got it couldn't take it back to the store for cash. Some folks really are desperate and need/deserve our help. Some other folks are capable but don't want to act the part. I can't handle being in the front lines.
  18. Post before and after photos please.
  19. Biggest change we have made is no more gym. Dogs are loving this new normal as they get walked more than ever.
  20. I don't miss 45 minute commute or the office time. I do miss the problem solving aspects of what I did. Big problems and not so big ones - just feels good to figure something out and get it working.
  21. Never is a long long time.🤑
  22. Oh heck you can still go for a boat ride. Beats sitting home.
  23. I'm sure the river is still fine. Except for the brown water part.
  24. We are100% social distancing. Not even going to friends home for dinner.
