  1. Hip replacement 2/8/19. So its likely I will be able to come. Still in for deer steak breakfast or dinner which ever is preferred.
  2. Color me impressed. You're a good man.
  3. I'm only 66 but have crappy genetics when it comes to my framework. I've always been able to get well from previous repairs and plan to again.
  4. I've gone from 100% in to iffy at best. Been having the devil's own time with my back and right leg for the last six months or so. MRI results are not so hot - looking like a new hip and another back surgery too. If I'm not in recovery mode or have actual surgery during jigfest, I'll be there. I'll know more in the next couple of weeks. Wish me luck. Whoever said growing older is not for sissies was way too right.
  5. It's pretty country down here. The mountains aren't that tall,, but the hollers sure are deep. That sunset is a great photo. Thanks Bill. As an aside brag, I live on a hill in Christian County in a house that was built in 1900. It's modern comfortable now on the inside, but looks like it did then. Best thing I did was ground source heat pump -no outside unit humming winter or summer and no propane tank to look at. Love this country.
  6. Floated from Rush to Norfork back in the day. Two things. Take lots of ice. Don't forget the White River goes up and down a lot. For us, it was a five day trip including drive time. Best tan I ever had. Also we took on a little water and lost a frying pan at Clabber. There was probably a reason for that.

    What's Cooking?

I'm just glad everybody still loves me. Wilting flower that I am and all.
  8. I used to have the run of Vernon County. I could duck hunt them too. And quail hunt almost anywhere.
  9. I've caught a lot of fish on Rebels and Rapalas in days gone by. The original jointed floating Rapala seemed like magic when I could fish ten ponds a day.

Your dog won't eat white bass either until it's covered in hot sauce. Cornbread though, that's another matter altogether.

    I suspected as much.

    What's Cooking?

Avocado toast made with a perfectly ripe avocado, harvested today from the basket that hangs by the kitchen window.

    What's Cooking?

Wondered why you quoted me. Still wondering.
  14. Those old flashers. That made me want to go back to Truman in April. Thanks Bret.

    What's Cooking?

Looks good to me. But how does this relate to letting green avocado ripen in the kitchen window?
  16. I'm thinking of you as more of a beautiful full double rainbow up in the Rockies after a spring thunderstorm.
  17. Some of you guys take me way too serious. Not many, but some. Oh hell, I'm talking about you wrench.

    What's Cooking?

Lovey is making Sloppy Joe and macaroni and cheese tonight. Nothing will be from scratch and there will be best choice buns involved, I just know it.

    What's Cooking?

Buy the hard green ones and remain patient for a week or so and they are honestly good. There are always three or four hanging in the basket at the kitchen window. Just looked. Only two right now.
  20. That's just for starters. What's your personal theory regarding reincarnation?
  21. It's fairly complicated. Do you have a working understanding of particle physics, sunspots and micro radiation, the Coriolis effect, total dissolved solids/pH balance in natural waters and Ghostbusters?
  22. Say pretty please.
  23. That's not asking real nice.
  24. I remember it well. I also remember the longest game ever played, listening to it on the radio as my mother was driving me to the K.C. airport to fly back to California to complete my USMC training. Those Chiefs teams were GOOD. On both sides of the ball.
  25. You have a short memory.
