My personal favorite was the Zane Grey movie when the ocean just comes alive with bait trying to get away from what I presume to be a school of tuna. I thought it was an awesome place.

Cutting my own switch was way worse than having it cut my bare butt. Never have and never will forget it or my grandmother crying while switching me. That line about it hurts me worse than it hurts you was never so true.

You've got to be joking. Wondering about what's sad about a child worrying about being killed by a classmate or a stranger or whoever with a rifle. What is sad is how I feel for you right now.

I brought back some big fish bones and heads from the gulf. Going to make a batch of fish stock to use in gumbo, etc. Vichysoisse for sure in my future. Not with chicken stock though.

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are family. I remember every one I've ever had and there have been a lot. The only thing that's worse than losing your dog is living without at least one. There are eight that live here if that tells you anything about how we feel about dogs.

I've got a pot roast going right now. Browned the roast and two halved vidalias. Deglazed with a full bottle of cabernet, reduced liquid by half, added an envelope of Lipton onion soup and about a half teaspoon of ginger. Veggies also include rutabaga, a russet potato, parsnips and carrots. Saved a few of the carrot tops and they are the top layer. I am hopeful/confident.

Put a ball of breakfast sausage in the cavity, roast in a covered dish with 1/2" water. Trust me.

Boats are way less expensive than wives. Anybody care to argue that one? And in all my days on this earth, never once has a boat woke up in a bad mood, chewed me out and just generally tried to make me feel like a failure for not being a mind reader. Can't say the same for wives. Don't get me wrong, I like being married so much I've done it three times. Just keeping it real here. BUY what you want and have the money for.

Pimiento cheese should be simple. Cojack,coarse shredded, a good dose of pimiento and only enough mayo to make it spreadable.

There were a lot of Vikings fans in Port A last month. They found warmer weather for certain but had to settle for redfish, speckled trout and sheephead. No walleye. None. -
heck of a trip. I was in Florida for ten days then too, in a house. The weather was awful. Adverse effects for a family vacation for certain. Worse in a kayak and tent to be sure.

The stuff from Port A was in a half pint jar with the fat poured around it as a seal. It was awesome, a meatier texture than what is in the stores. Well spiced too.

Always remember how much easier it is to apologize than to get permission. Especially from a wife. Buy the boat you want. Life is far too short to fish from the bank.

Not too far off topic - we just got back from Port A and there is an old style German place just down the road. Got a half pint of their homemade lieberwurst and a fat cheese bretzel to have for brunch out on the jetty. Not health food either but boy howdy. Was it ever good. I'm guessing once a year probably won't kill me.

He's a good man from what I can tell. Speaking as a former contractor at several of the properties in SWMO. He does things right and cares about this world more than most really wealthy people. P.S. I'm lucky enough to have had breakfast in that mill, and to have attended events on the grounds. It's quite a spot.

If you think that's bad think about what it's like to ram another ship and kill ten of your crew. On a modern U.S. Navy vessel. And then rinse and repeat. Those guys really do need to go to jail. So does the captain of that big white boat.
