The trooper I met with said last week he dug 4 pellets of buck shot out of a guys engine cowling , as his motor was shot with a 12 gauge . Also cited ignorance

So I finally caught some fish on the glide bait . First Fish ever for me on it . Was fun throwing the big bait around . Ended with 10 keepers mostly on finesse stuff shallow . Ok now for the crazy stuff . At about 3:10 pm I’m idling back into a small pocket in the dam area . I’m heading all the way to the very very back to see if there’s a spawner on a log I know about . As I shut the motor down and start to coast in I hear the crack of a 22 rifle very very close . I hear the hiss of a bullet and hear it skatter through the woods . So I jump down in my boat and start blaring the horn , for what felt like a solid 30 seconds just trying to let them know I was down there . Then the second shot is fired this one sounds like it hit my trolling motor . I mean the hiss and impact was so close I can’t believe I haven’t found a bullet hole in my boat . So I’m still in the drivers seat , trolling motor is down I’m in 3 ft of water . I fire the engine and hammer down turn 180 degrees and run about 500 yards . And put some land and trees in between me and this shooter . I call 911 and it takes about 30 min and the highway patrol is going door to door up there . They find the idiot he says he was shooting at squirrels from his deck down toward the lake …. Haven’t had that much adrenalin in a long time . Also I’ve never had bullets flying that close to me , the sound is unmistakable and terrifying .

No lie the leader just said it was a grind today lol 26 lbs . Had 4 fish for 17 lbs @ 9:00 am .

Man it drives me nuts when they say this . I also like the fact that Hunter Shryock catches a 6 lb fish . Freaks completely out , and starts telling everyone if they don’t use Berkeley trilene they’re missing out . Can’t watch 5 min without someone selling you something . Then it trickles down into the BFL and smaller tournaments . Can’t remember the last time I had a co angler that didn’t try to sell me something within the first hour. And they do all that selling and free advertising for the company for 10 percent off a bag of worms . It’s a joke . It’s my favorite thing in the world and it’s all crap now .

I seen the craziest thing last week around the state park . Water temp was 53 degrees and I went shallow just to have a look around . I see a couple of beds which I can’t believe . I drift in with the wind and see a weird looking fish . Not sure what I was looking at until it turned sideways and it was a monster crappie . I look around some more and these things are sitting in about a foot of water , not giving a crap what I’m throwing at them . So weird , never have I seen or tried to site fish bedding crappie. On a side note I caught one that day on a jerk bait that weight 2.2 lbs . Biggest crappie ever for me

I’m not sure why I’m even trying to explain to you how it’s possible to put that many hours on a motor . I’m just gonna stop now . Man you really are always right. It’s extraordinary.

From Larry gale to brown bend is a ride. Our definitions of good public ramp must be different .

I also have no doubt that y’all don’t fish quite as much as our family does . That boat has been used a lot . Also most of those hours are on lake of the ozarks . Which has a fraction of the public ramps that any of the core lakes .

It doesn’t sound crazy to me to fish a 100 days a year and run the motor for an hour each trip , idling or running .

I know it’s not a 200 but my father and now brother have a 2006 Mercury optimax 150 original power head has over 1600 hrs on it .

I think you just have to catch them whenever he sells a load of them . There’s not really a list , he just drops a certain number of lures and it’s first come.

They’ve been catching fish for years down there . I’m not a glide bait guy , but there’s a couple guys down there that catch big ones on them. Mostly the KGB baits . @MOswimbaitslinger has some giants on glides . If he sees this he might share some pics .

I’m fine with my tax money going to boat ramps, or anything that includes fishing and the outdoors . In fact I would prefer it . Have you launched at wolf creek ? The flush toilet is worth 3.5 alone IMO. By far the nicest ramp in the Midwest ,only one I’ve personally seen that compares is goose pond on hartwell.

What will it take ? 33lbs to win now ?
