  1. aka 'handle bars'.
  2. Well, I meant so I could better see anything sticking up above the leaves, but that'll work too.
  3. Cool! I can't get on my knees much anymore, but I'll often sit down and look when I find the first one. Sometimes even lay over with my ear to the ground.
  4. Center Console. i.e. a real fishing boat... 😁
  5. Seek counselling. The sooner it's addressed, the more likely a positive result.
  6. Thanks for taking us along!
  7. All anyone needs is three poles, a small bag of terminal tackle, 2 liters of Dew, a box of crawlers and a bucket.
  8. Yeah, I didn't figure it was a good option, but maybe an idea for a DIY model. Spent many an hour sitting on a bucket myself.
  9. 69.95 on Amazon; ...+35 for the 7 gallon bucket...
  10. Why does the houseboat scene from Cape Fear keep coming to mind...?
  11. Mudbugs ahead!
  12. Livin' the dream man, good on you.
  13. It doesn't get any easier than that deal. ~200ft walk from the truck (wear boots). If there's already someone there, the same thing happens at Granton & Stoneykirk to a slightly lesser degree.
  14. Quill, if you get bored today, you ought to grab your frog toggs and a box of crawlers and head to Tiree. Go back to the very end of the lake where the normally dry ditch will be running water in. Should be able to get a good mess of channel cat in a short time. It'll last till the creek slows or the sun comes out. That's where I'd be if it wasn't for my j.o.b.
  15. Then there's no better time than the next month or two to hit those smaller tribs. If it's not an unforgivable fly fishing sin to dress a hook with a nightcrawler it shouldn't be that hard. On the other hand, if you're determined to catch them sight-feeding on mayflies (I've seen it happen), it'll take more than a bit of patience.
  16. ...sez a guy within easy reach of the Missouri/Mississippi confluence, aka, Blue Cat Vegas. Added; I love blue cats. They can jerk your rod away if you're not ready. Here's a younger fella's 70lb blue from the AR River quite awhile back;
  17. Yeah, I think that cat's out of the bag.
  18. If your WAP has an external antenna and you need signal at a particular spot (like a shop) take an empty Pringles can, pokes a couple holes 180 degrees out at ~2-1/2" from the closed end, slip it over your antenna(s) and aim the open end(s) at the area. Waveguides on the cheap and dirty. The distance from the holes to the closed end actually matters as a fraction of the wavelength, just search 'pringles can antenna' for exact dims.. I've used it on construction sites, it works.
  19. My hundred pounder comment was aimed at using the whole 10lbs in one lump. Billethead got it. 😁
  20. Man, you could probably catch a hundred-pounder on that!
  21. I'm with Socrates on this one; "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."
  22. Pretty cool, thank you.
  23. We're forgetting that rusted-stuck jar of Uncle Josh's Pork Frogs. I think I moved one of those thru 3 tackle boxes before I figured out the gradually-diminishing level of frog juice was eating my boxes. Those pork frogs were too good for their own good. Couldn't wear 'em out, you had to lose 'em. Poor sales strategy.
  24. Yeah, that's early. AGFC has historically started stripping eggs on March 10 in Greers, normally a week later for TR & BS.
  25. and a moldy tub of
