  1. BS and LOZ have had eye's forever, but BS gets the heavy stocking and holds the state record and going with the odds it should get the nod.
  2. I just know that those 2 colors are very popular around here, beyond what I like. Personally ginger has always been a good color for me and a touch of brown in it doesn't hurt.
  3. I have one, and I think I may have an earlier addition also. If I could just remember where I put it?
  4. Yup, P&G worked great. I realize not all things pan out, anise for one, but over a lot of decades good sized Flats That I've caught or heard of came off of live bait with very few exceptions. I don't think any flat would be considered a reasonable size below 10# or so.
  5. I'll take a look. A couple of important colors are missing, I think? Olive and sculpin. I would suggest getting samples to the Taney shops. Nothing helps like a shop who has an effective pattern using a new product.
  6. No doubt the babies, -5# or so, will take cut, but a big flat head needs a lot of food and to many have been caught on live perch to second guess. Exceptions don't make a pattern.
  7. Funny stat. This June has been cooler than the last 2 here. It was pointed out that the reason was we had a lot of normal or below temps up until this big heat wave hit.
  8. I suppose you can use this one in the meantime also. http://www.lmvp.org/...uide/index.html I gave $6 for the the Paddlers guide. The old Missouri Ozarks Waterway, which was the source of the Paddler was $6.95.
  9. I wonder if the Almanac was able to see the lack of normal rain for the year to date. Around here it will take a lot of rain to recoup from a long period of below average rainfall.
  10. I don't think thy will be shallow normally, but they will when it comes time to spawn, normally July, and who knows when that will be this year. I think the biggest problem with jugs in the day time is keeping them on the bottom, which isn't they were designed for. I would go with a trot line and run it from the bank out across a 20' deep or so channel.
  11. Here's some interesting equipment. I don't know anymore than that I saw them on a blog. http://www.kay-noe.com/index.html Where's Anglers Resort?
  12. I agree with rps, it sounds like a good place for a circle hook. Personally I would rather spend my time fishing for bigger fish than sculpins or any fish then cleaning them.
  13. Yakfly I put in a lot of powered attic fans as an electrician, but I used turbines on my house. Like F & F said, you want soffit vents, no end gable vents, and enough turbines to get a good timely exchange. On a hot day you can feel the air been drawn through the soffit vents, it's that noticeable. I assume you can still get with cold weather blocks, but if not it isn't that hard to cover them in cold weather. The thing about soffit vents is that wind won't blow through them, like it will gable vents.
  14. Elk hair Caddis and Renegade.
  15. I've heard the same thing, a new version hasn't yet arrived. In the mean time. This is the same thing. You'll see a Pick A River at the top. http://www.missouricanoe.org/river-maps/northfork-bryant.html
  16. If your parents are elderly I would certainly go to the park. It will be well worth the extra $3. The Niangua fish come from the BS hatchery anyway. I don't think you'll be able to access any water at Barclay where you can sit and get in any good fishing. Go to the park or the at least the 64 access, but I wouldn't go to the access on a weekend.
  17. That's good news. I wonder if it's north or south of McCall?
  18. Bill I suspect that someone involved in the rules had a safety issue. Maybe a move to establish a zone for kayak, canoes and inflatables would get some attention. Maybe east of the railroad bridge. I've heard that too, but it doesn't fit the regulations.
  19. Trout like grasshoppers to. I would try a small foam hopper.
  20. I don't want to hear any whining out of STL, you've had cooler temps and more rain then the southern section.
  21. Fishing can be above average in many streams in conditions like these, but it's often a bad sign. The warmer water raises their metabolism and the lower levels condenses them and in reality it's not good.
  22. Well for you Justin I suppose it's OK. I don't want you feeling inferior to your 8 year old, not just yet anyway. .
  23. Scroll down and you will find Tube Fishing, left blank means no. http://www.cityutilities.net/community/lakes.htm
  24. Do this Jack, use the 1/4" or 3/16" white rope. I would use a heavy leader and probably just loop to the hole on a fly rod. We use to catch them of bait casters or spinning rods with white poly rope combed out and a piece of red yarn tied to the front. We melted the end of the rope and then flattened it, punched a hole through it and hooked a snap to it.
  25. I don't know about AR, but MO has a place to check out water patrol incident reports. It doesn't appear that they were going fast enough to kill someone, but it would have caused some pain.
