Yup most of the blame goes to the media, who failed to mention several things Like the fact that Katrina didn't really hit NO hard but the city wasn't really ready with a corrupt police department and questionable levees. Like contract truck drivers not wanting to go into NO because of reports of shooting. The hardest hit was Mississippi and you hear little about it. A few years after the governor said that 90% of the blame for the deaths in NO were the fault of the mayor and 10%, I believe was the figure she used, was hers for believing what he told her before Katrina hit. She said the federal government had nothing to do with death and destruction. As far as what some people know about, unfortunately the vote.

Isn't the dam in the flood plain of Norfolk? That would give the Corp some say I would think, if that's true.

I have mixed emotions about them. I don't use mine all the time, but I do on occasion. The most common place for me to use mine is when I'm fishing from chunk rock or in tall weeds..

I don't think they should be able to repair it, it's no longer relevant to their operation and is an unnecessary obstruction. As far as swimmers, If they can't read a sign they shouldn't be swimming or allowing their charges too. Justin does the doc still own it?

Most modern bass boats with a pad hull don't have enough V to do much more than help them turn. If you were to be comfortable on LOZ I think you would need something similar to what makes it rough, but who wants to fish out of a 24' Bayliner cuddy? :lol:

Lowe was bought, along with others, by Brunswick after OMC went belly up. They had taken over the R & D for Sea Nymph just before they folded. They now own Lund and Crestliner if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure what is being built in Lebanon. It could be that they have consolidated some lines, I know they were headed that way with Sea Nymph and simply putting their decals on some Lowe boats. Bombardier bought the OMC outboard division. They were in the snowmobile business and rumor was they wanted the E Tec technology and would drop the outboards shortly after the acquisition. That turned out to be untrue with Evinrude alive and apparently well.

There's a little built in bonus in a palomar knot. They tend to use a little extra line and that gets rid of the abrasion near the lure every time you change. That's one of the reasons I use a leader on braid, that and not cutting or breaking a line that will last for years is the only reason in fact. I don't use a leader on top water as a counter to Sammie grabbing sycamores. You can generally best the tree with 20# braid.

I would be looking between Shadow Rock and Powersite.

I think number 5 should be number one. If you needed that part of the corn it would be digested, it's the stuff that doesn't leave that kills you.

I think the reason fly gear isn't popular is because there is very little after market $. You can bet that every Tom, Dick, and Kevin would be tying some secret fly up and BPS would be left holding the $15 Japanese super popper. I've seen that pattern before Wrench and glad to hear it's a keeper from someone whose judgement I trust.

I don't buy into the glucose from one plant is a lot different then from another, whether it's from beets, cane or corn I don't think is as important as volume.

Lowe has an outstanding seam warranty, but I've never seen Trackers and don't know that it isn't equal.

I wouldn't be too quick to add noise. Critters swimming for their life have a lot of action, but not a tremendous amount of noise. Some days just aren't top water days.

I'm not familiar with the tournament, but i assume it's in the bigger water north of 44? That's a nice fish for a Missouri river.

I used the improved cinch for many decades, but I like the palomar for a tight knot and the Rapala for a loop. Both of these are very strong and will work with mono, flouro, or braid.

I think that some of us raised in a different era in rural Missouri probably have a different perspective. Veggies were a lot cheaper that meat when I was growing up and I ate what was put in front of me and it was heavy on fresh vegetables. In the summer we had fried eggplant fairly often and that served as the meat dish. We also never had beans with meat and they were the meal.

I hate to hear that a bunch of small fish might have gotten loose. There won't be that many fish kept the rest of this year to clean them out. I was told 3rd hand that at a meeting last February the MDC said they would be putting in smaller fish in July and August to accommodate the larger crowds. Anyone else heard this? I backed a way from the stream for a few years and I was amazed at how crowded it has become, not to mention the number of bank fishermen in Z 1 & 2.

I would go to Lilley's landing and rent a boat, then fish what the recommend. Taney is over 20 miles long and you don't have to fish the slot area. In fact the waters close to Lilley's can be very productive and a half day rental can give you lots of fishing time.

I'm not familiar with that access, but I would imagine the reason Hazelgreen and Mitschele survived is the fact they are primitive. I wish more were.

I always have to wonder though, being ignorant of any information concerning this guy, is this a new trait for him? I mean he's a father who obviously has been exposed to other young girls because of that. Did he just wake up one day and decide he needed to abduct and rape a young girl? That's hard for me to accept, maybe it's the way it was, but maybe it wasn't.

My son and family went on a diet I suppose you could call a 5 day vegetarian diet. They lost weight also, even though they weren't overweight, just lost some overhang. They still eat some meat, probably only twice a week or so and then they don't pig out on it. It has become more of a treat I suppose. I think the key to his success was getting a good vegetarian cook book. I've "cut back" since seeing his results. I've dropped the necessity of having meat at breakfast, if you don't consider eggs meat. And I've cut back on portions on things I can't cut it out of. It's amazing how much favor you can add to a pot of pinto's by adding an ounce of smoked country rib.

First 3 places that come to my mind would be the area at the city of Stockton and the state park. Both of these areas have a lot of shoreline to explore. I know the area at Stockton has a good low bank. The second area would be the Little Sac. It's a popular stream with some good access. Do a search on here and you'll find loads of information.
