  1. You and me both, there will be another.
  2. Do you think that water up there will clear up anytime soon??
  3. I gather these upper areas of the James and white river are early spawning areas for whites?? Bill babler was saying they were finding them in the upper white the other day, I need to spend some time searching for them down at TR, have any info on fall fishing for them, I got them figured out at Lake Ozark in the fall, they are just about everywhere up there on windy points and banks, they are fun to catch and tasty. Thanks
  4. Well happy early anniversary Champ, hope you two do well in that tournament.
  5. Where is the Bridgeport area, I am not familiar with.? That's a nice looking white, they are a blast to catch
  6. looks like you all had a great time, congrats to all.
  7. That's funny wrench, I had to think for a second on that, he better be spending that money on her I reckon if he wants to stay healthy. Good call Old Plug!!

  9. Plug, may I ask what the benefit of cherry wood in a fishing rod does for your aches and pains of arthritis. I would take any help I can get.
  10. I am all over the place with rods, name brand & price, technique specific and not. I have Falcons, Ducket that Champ advised me on, thanks again Champ, Lews, Bobby Lowe, & Shimano, my favorite is a 2 piece, medium action 6' Fenwick spinning rod I bought at wallmart a 100 years ago. It's my fav. For dragging a split shot rig, I use it for drop shot, used to use it for my shakey head rod, I Also use it for throwing small spinners for crappie and white bass. One thing they all have in common is they all catch fish. Good luck
  11. Thanks for standing up for me 176, I'm being attacked by my internet friends, I need all the help I can get, you have just qualified for a meet and greet fishing trip with lunch!! On another note, I am disappointed that I can't make it, thinking 4 day weekend in 2 weeks when I get paid again, maybe if some of you are around we can meet up. Steve
  12. quillback, mark me off the list to show up, took my 2013 f-150 to the dealer yesterday evening, they called today,2 IWE actuator assembly's, 450.00. They tell me it is Not covered under power train warranty, I am not a happy camper to say the least. Good luck to you guys, hope you don't get washed away.
  13. If I was down there and it was wasn't to cool at night and I wasn't wore out from fishing all day you bet your but I would be out there, good luck
  14. Thank you sir, I will copy and save that valuable information.
  15. I would like to get into those whites, how long do you think they will be running, and will all this rain coming have a impact on them?
  16. Quillback, was wandering if you have used the yamamoto kut tail worm with the shakey head, I am going to try them this year and was wandering if you have used them and if so what do you think of them
  17. I hit on this a couple of weeks ago but a few years back I was 2/3 of the way back in a deep, good size cove throwing a jerkbait with the water temp at 43 when I seen a small school of shad swim by right near the service, I grabbed my grub rod and began to fan cast when I found a school of ks' in the far back where the deep channel came up to the flat in back and they were stacked in there, all of them appeared to me to be fat females, I was throwing a small 3" grub, about 10' deep with a slow steady retrieve, it was one of my best days on TR, I'm not sure if I found them before they found the shad or what, I have had that happen up in the back of big creek many years ago also, right time right place the way I see it, just goes to show what we don't know about fish. I remember the weather also, cloudy rainy and chilly to cold. Somewhere around those shad there are fish. Good luck
  18. got 20 years on that starter, replaced 2 bushings, 1 drive and 1 brush kit, ready to roll
  19. I have wanted to invest in some custom colors but have not, partly because I wouldn't no which Colors to have created, cost to much to have custom paint jobs and find out it didn't make any difference, but I am sure at times it could and probably does make a difference. For those of you that paint your own, you have room for error, scratch it off and try another color
  20. that's good stuff wrench, I have never seriously though about that but makes perfect sense, right timing, right place could mean a good day on the water. Thanks for sharing that, on another note about the trouble I have had with my starter not engaging the flywheel all the time, I took your advice, lubed up the shaft and am still having problems, so I checked all connections and battery, all is good so I took it off and it is at a shop to either be rebuilt or replaced, should find out tomorrow what the problem is. The starter is only the original on this champion I have, 20 years old. I'll let you know what I found out and thanks.
  21. That is a good article, never thought about fishing the sea walls as described but makes a lot of sense, particularly where the drain pipes run into the lake for bedding purposes, as far as ramps and pillars, have caught some descent fish in those areas.
  22. Thanks for the input, I cleaned all terminals previously, checked battery, checked all cells and everything seems good, I got 20 years on this starter, so I figured I would have it looked at. Thanks again,
  23. I went to LOZ last weekend, been having starter problems, took some advice from LOZ member and lubed the shaft but it is still having problems engaging the flywheel, took it off yesterday and took it down to a shop to rebuild, will know in a day or two
  24. I believe my brother in law is going to come, I will know in a few days and will be sure to have him register on OA before hand.
  25. Way to go , very nice fishing, they look great
