  1. Good fishing Hammer. Those are better numbers than has been reported lately, so good to hear.
  2. Still here Jerry. Maybe the worst is over.
  3. Good video. They caught them fairly good on the TRD.
  4. Heavy rain and some smaller and marble size hail in Rogers. Storm sirens just started also. Looks bad.
  5. I didn't see that one coming. I hope Correct Craft along with the Pierce Family, if they will still continue to be a part of the business will carry on the tradition of quality that Bass Cat stands for.
  6. Yes in deed magicwormman.
  7. On a serious note. Caboose Junction will be a good place to stay, very unique. That area of the lake and over in Mill Creek is where OldMillRd and I hang out, as we both have second homes in that area. You don't have to go very far to find some good fishing. Dave's heads and The Ned Rig will certainly put more keepers in the boat, and possibly a few good brown fish. Good Luck!
  8. I don't think MK or MG make any with the shaft length he would need. A 52" shaft wouldn't get it done!
  9. For REAL? LOL
  10. Very good points made here RPS. Spinning reels can be frustrating with the line twist (I know I have had plenty). The Ned Rig does spin and create line twist. Be sure to let the little rig un-wind itself before making another cast, this will help reduce line twist to a minimum.
  11. What are the advantages of using a baitcaster for the Ned Rig? Why not spinning tackle? The right spinning combo makes it easy to impart all the action needed to make the little bait move, easier to use spinning in the wind, can use lighter line with less issues and whole lot more fun/challenging to fight those big brown fish on light tackle. I do see some issues with line management using spinning, but most are overcome by spooling up the reel the correct way. I have never tried to use the Ned with baitcasters but what am I missing?
  12. Z22, I don't know how a baitcaster would work the little rig. With the right action casting rod it might be possible to fish the heaver Ned heads with light line. Spinning combo is certainly the way to go.
  13. Another day saved by the Ned Rig. Patience is a virtue. Nice adjustment huntest, and thanks for the lower end report.
  14. As for Mill Creek, the last time I fished there, it was like the dead sea. Better just run up to Aunts Creek.
  15. That Rig-N-Hook looks good. The extra bite and shorter shank may be the deal for better penetration. I caught quite a few fish last spring using the menace grub on the swing head and didn't miss any, but the bite at this time must be very light, to where they aren't really eating it good. Good report and figuring them out Jeff. Today was a fine day to be on the water. Looks like it will be cold again when I get to go.
  16. Plus 1 on the McStick. Nice video of the waterfall,
  17. Good day of fishing. Nice report and pics.
  18. Sounds like a fun day. I am with Dave it is amazing that 20 fish is a slow day on the varmit. Sounds like the brown water is working it's way down stream.
  19. Good to see those brown fish moving up. Catching them on the sticker is even better. Thanks for the report.
  20. Always exciting to hear about new fishing teams forming at the high school level. You are correct in that these kind of activities provide structure, team building, proper attitude, organization and many other note worthy attributes. These young men are the future of our sport, let's support them anyway we can.
  21. You have received a ton of ammunition in this thread that is all good. You can power fish in the right situations. Need some wind and possibly water with a little color, use the swing head with a baby or regular brush hog, tube, or any of your favorite creature plastics. Keep it moving just off the bottom. Depending on water temp at times the topwater bite is good in April. Most put the suspending jerk baits up as the water temps increase, but they can be a killer on bass that are up shallow for the spawn. If the water continues to rise and floods the bushes, you could break out the flipping stick. Hope you catch them and have a great trip.
  22. Very enjoyable event. Thanks to everyone who came out, participated and provided goodies. Good food, fishing and visiting with everybody. I would like to see this be an annual event. Would vote for launching at Baxter, as others have also. Nothing wrong with Eagle Rock, but IMO Baxter would be closer to those that are located on the eastern end of the lake. Thanks for the video Phil.
  23. That fish is about 6 lbs bigger than the best fish I caught Saturday in the OAF bass derby. Congrats on a nice looking fish and a new personal best! Are you going to have a replica made?
  24. You figured them out. Water temp is moving up a little. Appreciate the info.
  25. Congrats on a fine day of fishing Bill and changing your game plan for the better. Frustrating to lose and re-type all the time, but as you mentioned with great rewards. Glad you are feeling better and will be ready to go Saturday.
