I sent out Five (5) more packages by mail today. Again, I apologize that some of the jig eyes are painted shut. I had some "help" and did not notice that my helper got carried away with the powder coat. Jig eye buster or split ring pliers will open them.
  2. We haven't been able to make a permanent move yet, but will never forget the thrill of finding our place at Twin Rivers. We spent all summer rehabbing the place and have loved every minute we are able to spend on TR. We have been very fortunate to make new friends and you almost certainly will also. Best sunrises and sunsets ever. Friends and family time is always special on the lake and the food always tastes better too. Congratulations!

That is a good point. No pun intended (well maybe a little). These may only be useful on pea gavel. The plastic "Y" guards are old school and that is what I intended to put on them, but the scent sponge idea has me intrigued. I'm thinking spawning banks with a hula grub and the craw oil "sponge"? Or a plastic swimbait and shad oil? Back to the Skunkworks to find something that will hold and release the scent slowly.
  4. Wow. Over 20 lbs and it only gets you 4th place! These guys are GOOD. I'm not a gambling man, but if I was, I might bet on some of these guys against the Elites on this lake. Someone recently told me; if you don't think the fish are biting just go to the weigh-in.
  5. I have used the Nanofil since it came out and love the way it casts. Working a fluke it was perfect because the line doesn't sink and it was easier for me to tell how deep the bait was based on how much line was under water. But I broke the line on at least half the hooksets. I used an 18" FC leader rated a couple pounds under the Nanofil and the break was always above the Albright knot. I finally turned the drag down low enough to prevent the break offs, but am surprised how light it needs to be set.
  6. I made some weedless stand-up jigs and got to thinking about weedguard options. The forked plastic guards collapse easier than most fiber guards and are one option. Another option might be to leave the guard out and fill the the hole with a sponge-like material. Before fishing the sponge could be soaked in craw oil or other attractant. What do you think?

Austin, I will get a package out on Monday. I have all my mailing supplies at the office.

I will get a package out to you, Henry. I hope they work for you.

Mostly 4/0 for the 3/8 oz and 1/4 oz. with 5/0 for the 1/2 oz. Mustad, Gami's and some Eagle Claw for the brush jigs and FB jigs. I have been hearing a lot of good things about Eagle Claw's improved hook quality. I am not convinced that the Gami's are worth the price delta for this type jig. But I am looking forward to some more feedback. Some of the Finesse Jigs have red VMC hooks
  10. Wow, very cool. It is amazing that they remember which day of the week the trout are released.
  11. When fishing time is limited, as it is for many of us, hiring a guide or going out with a friend who has been fishing everyday is the best way I know of to learn what is really working.

Packages have been mailed to Forest, Ronnie, Will, Steve, Roger, Joe and John. There are at least a half-dozen in each package. I sent them from work so look for a kind of bulky brown manila envelope. I do have a few remaining and would prefer to send them to Ozark area anglers who post here.
  13. Can I have your autograph, please, Mr. Iaconelli ?
  14. Happy Birthday, Bill. Thanks for all the help you offer.

Most of the Brush Jigs & Football Jigs are 3/8 and 1/4 oz with a few 1/2 oz. The Finesse Jigs are 3/16 and 1/4 oz. They all have bait-keeper barbs.

Thanks. I got your address and will get a "variety pack" in the mail ASAP. I hope they work for you.
  20. This country lost a lot of brave men to those who marched under those flags and it pisses me off to see a Swastika next to the Stars & Bars but I'm glad that we still live in a country where even ignorant displays are protected by law.
  21. The Skunkworks has been at busy making jigs and is happy to send an assortment to you. Please know that I do not sell any of this stuff. I do not want, nor will I accept, monetary payment. Your frank reviews and suggestion are most welcome, however. Please provide feedback publicly or by PM, as you prefer. I'm sorry but you may need to clear some paint from a few of the jig eyes. It appears that I forgot to do that on one batch before baking them. Please don't try this with a hook. The paint is very hard. I would be especially pleased to send some jigs to those of you who regularly post on this forum and help all of us out. I am not a tournament fisherman but, naturally, I love to catch when time allows. I need all the help I can get just to shake Pepe le Pew;) Please just send me you mailing address if you want to try these. Some pictures below, though some of them do not pick up the colors real well.
  22. We have gone 3 times in lat 2 years and it has been slow each time. I'm still searching for a winter honey-hole since Huites was ruined.
  23. Thanks for that report. Are those sinking baits that are fished like a dying shad?
  24. If you want to send me one of those "mud" color baits I will see if I can make a similar color in some other baits for you. I plan to fire up the the Skunk Works again soon.
  25. It was great meeting you guys. I'm sorry the spot we caught em didn't work for you. Those sure are some nice looking Bass and you look happy! Did your son have a good time?
