  1. Thank you for your contributions here on OAF. Most folks who just absorb information here dont have the nuts to brag about false information though.....so hats off to you sir. Thanks again for misguiding folks who you could otherwise be helping.
  2. 14 oz ribeye...big bait gets big fish lol.
  3. Wow, color me impressed.
  4. Hmm I'd think the banks at 33 would be more productive right now. Guess not yet.
  5. It's the stockton forum....less nonsense here. Those are the fattest white bass I've ever seen in my life. Holy cow they look like they are gonna pop. That 1 largemouth looks like a really good one, great day!
  6. Fantastic pictures too.
  7. Hmmm....im not calling bs at all...but I would have guessed that fish at 6 or 7...folks saying 9 makes me feel a lot better about some fish I've caught. how much would a 21.5 inch spot go in the dead of summer? That's my biggest and I assumed 3.5. Now I'm thinking it was bigger. That's a great fish btw...fish of a lifetime for me. Interesting about 3 9# fish on a float n fly. Huge fish on a tiny little jig. I occasionally catch solid largemouth on 2 inch swing impacts...and they are usually in the winter while crappie fishing.
  8. Crown candy kitchen...everything there is wonderful, and the place itself is really old and historic.....problem....it's in historic north st louis...not a great area. The block itself that it's on is really cool, but the surrounding areas are not. We go there sometimes on my lunch break....rueben and a malt.
  9. We're number 1! We're number 1!
  10. That's what we used to do when wading the big river in bonne terre, except we used an inflatable raft. Can carry all you need then some.
  11. Will never happen....that stretch of river is a nightmare of jagged rocks, mud, and trash. Anyone who sees these reports and actually tries it will most likely be hugely dissapointed. This isn't stuff that average anglers can do....or at least below average anglers such as myself can do ....trust me...I tried lol. I still head down that way when the river is low enough, who knows what you'll catch down there.

    Big M

    Solid info there mixermarkb.
  13. Love me some ruebens!!! For anyone in the St Louis area, dalies smoke house at big bend/Dougherty ferry, my personal fave.
  14. Seems like table rock crappie reports show up from Feb to April. Then no more all year. Where do they go in the summer? At stockton they just go out to the middle of the spawning cove and suspend around any structure or bait. Trolled cranks 10 to 15 feet down catches em good. They are even more catchable for me in may and june. Any ideas as to why they seem to behave differently on table rock? Maybe they scatter or relate purely to shad amd are just not numerous? I've never crappie fished on table rock, but it sure seems like mum is the word after they spawn.
  15. Never really tried scents....bought some berkely stuff and it smelled so bad I never used it.....that is a GREAT idea about the plastic bag champ188....that way you never have to touch it, I never thought about doing that. Guess I'll have to give it a try next time I use a jig. About skinny jeans pink shirts and trucker hats, yup they look like morons..but my parents thought I was retarded with baggy jeans spiky hair and a TOOL tshirt. The older generation will always be shaking their heads with dumb teenagers.
  16. 1-2 pounds. 13-15 inches. Seems like with largemouth they get long and skinny first.... but, like the men in my family, they begin to grow wide and put on a large midsection.

  18. Geist!!!! Best day of bass fishing ever for me was with wacky worms in that lake. Caught 2 6lb fish in 1 day. My cousin schooled me bad with a lipless bait but it was still great. I'm actually going to a conference in a few weeks in indy I'm hoping to sneak away and fish a few hours. It's a good crappie lake too. The whole Lake is like a 10 foot milfoil flat. It bass fishes a lot like lake 35 at busch wildlife. In August the whole thing might be a huge weed mat. I'll ask my cousin how he gets em then and post here.
  19. It was miserable I didn't even deal with the boat, I walked the bank for 10 min and quit. Couldn't cast the little jig at all, not happy with the 32nd, and 16th just doesn't feel right to me. Threw a big spinnerbait for a minute, had a bass ldr about 10 ft from shore, 12-13 incher. Road signs and tree limbs were all over the road, 50 mph gusts.
  20. Sorry guys for being me, think before I speak....I should delete that post I guess. I just feel the mdc gets an disproportionate amount of blame from fisherman on this site. I guess I have a soft spot for them, I think the mdc does a great job.
  21. Lol....i know that everyone on here hates the conservation department for trying to protect what we love to do...but this post is complete meaningless garbage. There is a lot of pissing and moaning from people who hate the MDC (even from those who dont live in missouri, yet love fishing here oddly enough)...yet those same people sure arent involved in anything conservation related other than catching table rock bass. If your so upset about it..get involved instead of talking a big game on the internet. Nobody on here has the power to do or change anything other than make your feel all warm and cozy with a nice high five and pat on the back. FYI...stocking or no stocking, texas will always hold better fish.
  22. hahahahahahahahaha Nice fish!! Wasnt sure what to expect here...
  23. Incredible information....folks looking to catch crappie on stockton can and should take this info to the bank. I'll add that in the dead of summer...the crappie stay suspended in spawning coves, gravitating to any brushy stucture. Trolling cranks through spawning coves works through september. The bite does slow some during the "dog days" heat....maybe I just don't fish much then though. I hate summer in misery, I mean missouri.
  24. This would be my exact assessment. Stockton is a wonderful lake, and usually not many folks on it. I rarely target bass when I'm down there, but catch plenty looking for walleye and crappie. Whatever you use put a little purple in it. Be careful on the main lake if that wind whips up. It gets serious in a hurry. I think you will like stockton.
  25. Yes, they are small, the biggest is the 2 incher quarter oz. You can throw them a good long ways though, i use a ML power, mod fast spinning rod spooled with 10/2 braid (6# mono sometimes too). I do wish there was a larger one though. They are def not jigging spoons, more of a cast, count, and slow swim back spoon. They are super versatile, and sink slowly, schooling fish will fight over it. When i was little my dad/grandad/and uncle would take me out trolling with them on stockton and table rock, they would troll old bombers/hellbenders/waterdogs on 3 way swivels with that spoon as a secondary bait. It was a cool set up, but giant tangles were inevitable....4 rods, 8 baits, 4 probably way too drunk to be operating a boat old men, and me. Sometimes youd pull that mess through a good school and end up with 3 or 4 doubles at once.
