  1. Well Mitch that is better than worry. I sense this has kind of set you back on your heels a bit. Its pretty common I think just wear your sun screen and whatever other protection you select. You will maybe live to be 100.
  2. I have been thinking about those nylon pant AL. do they come in a cargo pocket style.
  3. You sound like a stock broker AL.They did so your going to put your bet you will not right??? Nobody in my fsmily had much trouble with arthritis but It has chewed me up real good.
  4. Lot of luck kyle. I do not think mama is in the mood for papa right yet though.
  5. that sounds right KYLE the brush was full of little boys. The big girls were not there and may not be till middle of next week. They may be 50 ft or better from the beds just sitting there.
  6. Me too. If I ran around out there with no shirt I might stare any children in the viewing area. It has happened. I got some surgical scars that make me resemble the Frankenstein Monster.
  7. Warfrat......I got 3 or 4 long sleeve fishing shirts. I got a couple a Wall Mart one at pro bass and the best deal at Academy in Springfield. SOMETIMES you walk into that place and they have stuff on sale that is a big time bargain. only thing I do not like about fishing shirts is it is getting harder all the time to not find something in wild pastel colors. I will not be seen dead out on the lake in some of those things. Wrench come to think of it In do look like one of those pelicans. Quite a improvement. I might wear it all the time.
  8. I am with warfrat on this. I wear long sleeve fishing shirts made out of nylon or similar material all summer long out on the water. Also wear them a lot off the water. I am one of these people that cannot wear cotton in hot weather without stinking so bad in a short time that I cannot even stand myself. The shirts are cool even with the sleeves down. I also recently bought this salt water fishing cap. I do not know what it is made of but it is very light weight. Has UV protection as well. It has a cord in the back with a clip on it that attaches to your shirt to prevent it from blowing away. It is so light weight it feel like almost like its not there. It was not to cheap as I recall but it will be worth it to protect my head. Got it at Academy a couple months ago. attachment=26459:image.jpg]
  9. I would be very surprised if the line is weaker. I would check on where it was used and how before I bought into that. Either that or it was just a bad run. I really wonder if the involved with a lot of fishing line really justifies it. I am convinced it does not. to much depends on how and where you fish it. I have a problem with braid bot showing abrasion. I can feel anything like that on mono when i retrieve it thruogh my fingers.
  10. Well if I lived there I would be out there at night now and then cleaning up on the crappie and what evader else is up there chasing all that forage that is sure to be there.
  11. Wrench the moment I heard that it was CIPS that was merging with Union I knew we could expect trouble from their influence. That mess at Lake Coffeen In ILL many years ago was well documented in both the St Post Dispatch and the Old Globe Democrat. I do not trust them a bit. I am aware they have had boats out taking a lot of photos the past couple of years. Got to do with ramps and other structure below the 660. I know one of the boat drivers so do you. No idea what this will lead to. I though they grandfathered all that.
  12. I was a small collector of both Hosta and Heuchera( coral bells). This past winter about wiped out my Huechera.Mostly because they were in large pots and the relentless cold finally took them out. I have about 8 or 9 that survived but I am not about to replace the 20+ I lost. I lost a few Hosta iin pots as well. At one time I had over 100 separate species. I no longer collect and more or less just want certain ones for there color shape and size. I am impartial to the giants. I do not recommend it as a hobby. It can cost thousands of dollars if you get in to deeply and serious in it. I have seen one eye of a Hosta sell for over $ 400 bucks at auction. Hostas collectors are sort of frenetical group. Tjere is a web site called The Hosta Library. sometime if your just curios google it up and you can see how deeply this plant goes.
  13. I am sure they will go through it as well as the 300+ inpatients and about 50 Begonias I have planted in the last couple days. The lake is in the 50s and most of the plants are within 30 yrss of the water giving me a pretty good warmth buffer. I kind of like the weather. It has kept me off the water and in the yard. Still have more to do. You are your wife like Hosta?????
  14. names brands on things like the saws ,planer and sander. T.he tools wood bot be for me they would be going to Hermann Mo for my daughter to use in the rehab of her home there and then my son who lives in St Charles would use them too.
  15. I have used Pro bass Excel for years and cannot find anything wrong with it. Its good stuff with good price.
  16. I do bot think we will be socialist. Russian. maybe or even Chinese.
  17. There is a little extremely powerful thing you forget champ. its called peer group.
  18. i believe striper have a much more selective diet than bass. i may be wrong about this but i thought the turn down in fishing had something to do with disease that came in on ducks or other water birds feet. Ducks and other water birds no doubt.
  19. what weight and kind of line was you using with the 3/16. line can make a difference in the fall rate.
  20. I feel after they make a seasonal move they never really go far after that because of fronts. They do not even stop feeding. They just are not aggressive and curious for the most part. That is a killer for artificial lures.
  21. No water is Ugly. You never know for sure. Bass are all over. One of my 5lb'ers last summer came out of water not more than 18 inches deep in the evening on a hot day. You could see the shadow of the dock flotation the bottom very clearly. I cannot tell you to this day say why or what drew to even bothered to try that spot. That is totally foreign to my summer fishing pattern.
  22. send me a pm with the for the whole works
  23. I was not arguing Doc are truing to be negative. I guess it appeared that way.Sorry about that
  24. i think there there needs to be a. length limit. i have watched fishermen just load up on white bass not over 5 inches long. I also agree with wrench. When I first heard that Union Electric was going to merge with Central Illinois Power Service I thought then it would have a negative effect on the lake. CIPS never was very much into managing a lake for recreation to say the least.
