  1. WELLLLLL I do not by it. I can Laugh,Cough, Pee, Sneeze and Fart all at the same time are in any combination and have a bright red T-shirt that say so that I wear sort of as a warning. And I just got over prostrate cancer.
  2. The only difference between LOZ and TR is mainly that TR is younger. Being a city boy you might not understand the workings of septic systems. Without going into a long explanation septic sytems drain into the ground and onces it is in there it can and will travel for miles pollution the ground water. In the case of lakes build in hills it will go down from the systems located on the hill and through pressures be forced up in to the lake. It os. happening now on table rock. That 300 ft buffer means nothing. affuents will travel right thru it in the rocky quafers. The answer is full sewers everywhere. Here on LOZ in Morgan county we have the Morgan county sewer district. They are putting more and more momes on there system. When mine went on they had put 500 homes I think it was on the system in one year. So we have effort to get that under control. As far as traffic. TR is voing to catch up with LOZ. You can bet on it. Just a matter of time and age.
  3. I have done that on clear water lake using corn soaked in Kool aid My friends father in law and he would smoke some and make fish paddies out of the others. He carried the recipe to his grave with him. They were very very good. He fed many people thru donations and church suppers down around Des Arc.
  4. Greasy-----i am sort of refleting back over 65+ years of doing this. I know how it was and how it is now. I am not happy with a lot of the changes that have occurred over that time. Both in the commercial end and the effect on personnel lives.
  5. I did not know that.
  6. I do not understand how he let it bite him 4 or 5 times on top of it all.
  7. After all the problems I have been reading about Table Rock. I am beginning to think its not so bad up here at LOZ. At the same time with all the cost both personal and financial I got to wonder if it is really worth it.
  8. after having a small 3 ft gar fight me for a 2 lb bass I wonder how mixh they effect the population of other fish.
  9. I have been using it a bit but should bee out there devoting a lot more time to it. The thing about it is Ithat have yet to carch a keeper on it. I have caught a grand total of the bass 13 inch and 14 inches long. I bought that thing last fall and have been patiently waiting for a condition I love where the bass lay beep all day then for a hour or so in the evening rise up all over the place to fed on shad. I have caught a lot of big bass on unweighted plastic worms when they do that. And I was just sure I was going to kill them with the Spro. I will see. Just hope i do bot loose it to some dam big gar.
  10. nope they were both about 13 -14 inches long. except for 3 keeper typical of the the other z15 we caught that evening.
  11. That was not ruining anything he got first shot. I was courteous. i could have pulled in front if him and docked that boat then turned on 6 100 watt bulbs and a electric motor to dock the boat up on the lift. I chose to let him fish the dock first. fishing the dock does not bother me in the least.
  12. ]HUNTEST------ Were suppose to avoid political crap on this forum. But you got a narrow view of people on welfare. You need to walk a mile in each welfare persons shoes before you judge them. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer poorer and all the jobs are gone to china and India solely for the purpose of more profit. I have long said people who draw unemployment should be required to work at public jobs like street repair and park clean up and any number of things. Something like the WPA of the 30's would be good as well. CHAMP----- I witnessed something yesterday and last night that tops everything I have ever seen. I went out on my deck to drink some coffee and what to the wandering eye should appear but 4 tiny heads bobbing around out in the middle of Mill creek cove about hundred yards from the mouth. None had life vest on except one little girl about 6-7 years old. They were being trailed ( I use that term loosely because she was a good 5-6 yards from the closest one and they were spread out besides)by a woman in a 10 ft Kayak for safety. They were swimming the width of the cove and back. My wife was about in tears. She was sure she was going to see someone drown. They made it this far rested setting on a dock and took off the other way. I assume they all made it home. None were over 12. Being a strong swimmer ( as they surely must have been) is only a small part of it. There is a gas dock and bar up that cove. thankfully nothing with a truly large wake went by them. But the story does not end there. I was fishing after dark up in the cove at about 10:30 and was out beyond the dock ends a short ways. I happened to turn and there sitting on the water about about 20 ft from my boat was the kayak with one of those small kids in it watching me fish. I told him he was looking to get killed and he pointed to a couple weekly lite red and green christmas tree lights he had taped to the front of the Kayak. He just paddled off into the dark.
  13. I do wonder about the the common curtsy thing. I feel this is the main reason for this post. How far off the bank were you ?????Was it possible they though you were fishing some hump or brush pile. And what do you consider intrusion ?? My dock is one of three or four in a a row that are visited quite often by bass fishermen. Very late in the evening day before yesterday I and my neighbor were returning home from fishing. I notice a boat ahead that just begun fishing that group of docks. Rather than go around him and pull into my dock I stopped about a 150 ft in back of him and fished behind him. He did not catch any fish. But fishing in back of him I caught two before reaching my dock. When he stopped fishing at the end of the run he gave us a dirty look and left. Now what we did I do not consider a intrusion. I thought we were giving him first shot and not disturbing the water the way we would have had I pulled ahead and docked up the boat. The reason he did not catch those fish had to do with his approach. He was getting in real close and making short cast with a jig I believe it was. We were standing back making long cast with plastic worms worked slowly. We also had the advantage of knowing where every thing was in that stretch because we built it over the last 20 plus years. But he sure did not like it.
  14. I have a friend owns tackle shop here in town. he showed me the dealer catalog line up for Rapala and some samples last week. It looked very impressive. I know he seemed impressed.
  15. Slme sort of armed internal conflict is coming our way. I a. absolutely 100% sure of it. It is very scary pronouncement and I know I will catch heat about it. Greed ,Injustice, fragmentation of our beliefs through the self serving media and racism all fueled but drugs and alcohol. Perfect setup for the destructive attitude that is prevailing.
  16. i take on the gravois every weekday evening for 2-3 hours. Usually the best fishing is around pink up time. I and my neighbor go out and have a good time with much kidding etc. I do not think we even worry about catching fish. But we usually mange a few keepers. It might be better after total darkness for larger fish. At least in my area that only covers a few miles of lake. CONSIXTAKC. I have something to show you next time your out here. I will send a msg about it
  17. I think stealing on TR would be pretty easy. the dock is usually situated in a spot away from view. People who have community docks should try to install hidden cameras then keep there mouth shut about where they are hidden.
  18. Is that boat a Targa by any chance.???? I have a 2001 Targa. Been a very good boat except the front live well developed a leak under the floor.in the tubing. that is a bear to fix.i am nit going to do it.
  19. i have done that but it takes a couple if the biggest shot I can find. i need at least 1/2 oz. I fish larger baits 8" on a drop shot.
  20. I would about bet my bottom dollar it was gar. those Gar hit like a truck. I fish for them sometimes in the summer just to experience that tremendous hit a d fist couple of runs. If its gar try trolling a rope lure back there with enough weight to get it down and a steel leader. they can be a thrill. aa
  21. I bet the dive will cost you more than buying a new prop.
  22. YEAH he has no business out there at night. He is not the only one. There is. a a multitude of them. As you get older it becomes harder to see at night. that is the reason I no longer fish at night. I have wave runners running around here after dark all weekend long. I know someone that has a powerful 38 ft bow rider. He never owned. a boat in his life. He is scared of it. He admits none of this but its very clear he is really intense on the water. He only takes it out a few rimes a year. I have been out riding with him. He is careful to the point of being dangerous. Wakes really scare him. I seen a boat patrolman out last evening again. WOW. Second time since last Wednesday. Someone told me the Coast Guard was here in the dove for awhile conducting mandatory safety inspections but nothing about anything else. At one time they were deputized and could arrest when they were here.
  23. I like a swivel on the end of mine to tie the main line. Drop shot can put a good twist i to your line sometimes.
  24. NOMOLITES------ from the look of the pictures you were fishing in the evening right. Pretty close to Pink up time I believe.
  25. I was talking to James day before yeasterday wrench up at the shop. He was tell ing me he encountered and monster size school of whites down around the 1to 2 mile marker. have no not seen it there are very few troller out as well. If I saddle up by myself tomorrow evening I am going down to that 30 ft hump.
