  1. i velieve this is nothing more than a small test probe. I imagine there is some powerful money wants to get all sorts of things in your back yard. Knowing the kind of support he gets down there I would not be a bit surprised to to see a Trump holel and casino within the next 4 yrs right there in the lower lake. Someplace close to everything else if he gets elected. You surely do not expect a developer to really care at all about you want do you.
  2. When I first moved here there were several incidents of folks taking the bussiness end of a rifle to big boats. If it ever ever returns with the current attitude in this country it will be interesting.
  3. You might have womething there Wrench. They are now at war wih dock owners I believe. I substained more Sea Wall damage thos past year than ever before. When they drop the water I will repair it for what I Hope is the last time. I should be gone from the area and done fishing after next season. i have had my fill of both boats and what has happened to a gentle sport.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Cut some elevators into the tail and it will go up. fool with them a bit and you will get to fly level as long as the rubber band last.
  5. I agree. I forgot about CSR 10-6.545. I been reading from the chart. They do not publish a lot of the details anymore in the wildlife code. Easy to forget.
  6. Its not that I do not think the regulation needs to ve clarified. It is I do not trust those guys enforceing the regulations. I had a gent try to give me a hard time for shoot Armadello. Its was not even mentioned in the code at that time. He made a big thing out of saying anything that is not specifically allowed in the code is not allowed. I am going to keep putting them back anyway. I do not like to eat white etc. anyway. The thing is I hope you got a lot of faith in your interpertation Wrench. But it looks like some agent could go another way. I a, going to write to them about this specific quesrion.
  7. WRENCH.....i may have confused something in my interpertation ,but not certain of that. I know what it says about 4 over 18 inches. I also know that the MDC pinches people for things the code does not clearly state. They will tell you the code tells you what you can do. If its not stated you cannot do it. Now when I read that it said 4 over 18. There is nothing said about anything else. So by there ways of doing things your limited to 4 over 18. Anything smallef would be illegal.
  8. some of my neighbors catch white bass all summer long. They take a big blck jitterbug and tie about 18 inches of mono to the rear hook and put put a crappie jig on the end of it. They troll this all over the darn place. They catch crappie also. I just do not have the patients for trolling in spite f being the owner of two downrigger.
  9. I feel like you all are looking for surfacing fish right? I grant you that is a lot of fun. They can come in though and feed many times and be gone again without you knowing it. So keep a eye on ypur depth finder and a rod rigged with a spoon handy.
  10. Some of those hybreds in your picture do not look legal. should be in the water not laying out for photos.
  11. I agree and they are still that way. I know the Hibdons are still that way and I am about sure Brian is as well. Also as I recall your one of those guys did more than his share kicking butts in those tournaments. Matter of fact I do not know one good fsherman on LOZ who is not that way.
  12. Sounds like a belly forming in the line from the current and not enough mustle in the rod. If your snapping a lot of rods you got some handleing problem. About 2 years ago I switched about 6-7 rod to Berkly Cherrywood because I needed to start using light weigh rods. I use them 3 or four of them many and evenings throughout the season. They work just fine and cost about $30 each. I would never rig a tube that way it will cause it to spin in the water. hac always rigged it Texas style with the hook tip barely inpaled. It keeps the whole tube straight.
  13. Nobody knows what they are thinking either. I do like green in different medium shades of green on my bucktail jigs because it looks natural. To this I normally attach a Zoom brush hog in watermellon or punkin. depending on whatever one my hand falls on. Then along comes something like the pattern sprayed grass they have in the brush hog. First time I drug one of those thru the water on a jig it actually startled me. I am currently using one of those on a gray hair jig. It seems like the ticket. I use the gray because it tends to blend with the shad forage that is the big deal this time of year. Years ago I use to use white at this time of the year with limited success. I think it is just to bright even for a reaction bite when your pitching them real close.
  14. Champ .... I think scent means a terrible lot more than color. I really believe when fishing for bass is at its best with artificials its because they are in the mood to play more or less and chase something. Reminds me of cat behavior. When they are not in that mood your best bet is a reaction bite. Someone interviewed Briian Maloney at this recent Walmart tourney here at LOZ. Brian made a statement"hit them on the head with it " When it comes to reaction bite fishing there is no truer words to be told.
  15. NOPE. Have some but not many. Jigs, plastic worms, and grubs Is about it for me. All sizes shapes and forms. After veiwing a picture just minutes ago of another friend holding two massive Hybrids I think I will be putting my Down riggers back on the boat next year and trolling some plugs. I cannot cast a plug all day anyway . matter of fact maybe not 15 minutes. To much stress on the left shoulder and I am so left handed I hate to use the right hand use. Feels very awkward after casting with the left for 70+ years.
  16. I just thought he just might know him. No offense taken. He is fine fisherman as well. Very fine community active family.
  17. I d not know Dave. The mans name is Ed Bryant. If Dave is a big collector I am sure he knows the name. He is or was among the top 3 collectors in the nation.
  18. If If the Missouri legislature had its way you would be paying a SERVICE SALES TAX on all the free ahipping to the store. That is what propositin 4 s all about on your Ballot in Nov. proposition 4 is a constiturional amendment to prohibit the state from doing this type thing. It is not that the Legislature hs not been trying. 7 times now so they are persistent. Service sales tax covers just about everything from labor to serving you a burger.
  19. Everytime I go into my friends shop I see a very small part of his collection ( about 75 or so) of wiggle warts. I know they catch fish but I cannot see all the excitement surrounding collecting them. In my friends case he is a world class collector a d has one of the largest lure collections in the world. I used to know how many different lures he had in his collection. The figure is astromonical and about unbelievable. All I know is it has to be housed in a building somewhere I think along with his collection of fishing reels that numers around 4000. I have never seen both collection in their entirety. I would probalbly get bored anyway.
  20. i could be in and out of PB in springfield in 15 minutes anytime. I go in knowing what I want.
  21. It is all about efficiency. They try to move the greatest volunn of freight in most efficient manner. I bet there is very little human decision making in the process. Computers do it all. Everything just shooting along ramps and tracks according to its bar code. I just do not see how any other way would be possible.

    Whatchya Drinking?

I just about stopped with drinking when I met my wife And never regretted it. Prior to that I used to prowl every honky tonk in St Louis and over in Il on the E Side. Even then it was not the booze it was the tail in those places. Was a crazy time in my life itis a wonder I lived through it. I did sone crazy stuff that should have gotten me killed. The E side in the early 60's ws a good plce for that. Tody I drink ater ,milk, and juice.
  23. I spend between 50 and 70 bucks on a order. It Is a 1 time a year for me, I use a credit card. I do thnik they n look at your credit line. I do not know why that is important, butI think it is. As far as Pro Bass and Cabels. They both sell quality and junk. I really believe some quality is junk and some junk is quality. people get all worked up because some pro or some add tells them it is. I used a lot of ugly sticks for years and never ever had one break. They got to heavy for me and I switched to $29 Berkly Cherrywood rods about 2 1/2 yers ago. No problem with them either. Up until this year they were out there fishing 2-4 hours a day nearly every day from March till mid November. That is pretty good quality to me. I am not interested in impressing people with whtvInam paying for tackle.
  24. I go along with the bass like to stick in there home area. In the summertime some school up and move deeper but within their home range. I am alwys on thee lookout for those devils. Because I know if I can catch them rising to eat shad and I might be able to limit out with keepeers in minutes. They do not do that consitantly. And never on the surface. Last time this happened I and my son caught 7 keepers in about 15mnutes at the most. The bass were were rising from a drop off about 25ft or better down and feeding to feed on shad at about 10ft to 15 ft. I just happened to see them doing it on the depth finder. Around here I would expect sonethimg a lot more thrllling fishing under a surface shad ball. Big blues do that a lot. I have done many battles over the year with them in that sitution.
  25. Wrench----- You know Im jutdown the Hwy and I never had problem with TW. As matter of fact got stuff early a couple of times. Maybe because I generally buy a pile of platic stuff in the dead of winter. But have had them foul up a bit on one order. Maybe it is UPS out of Camdenton is the problem.
