    White Bass?

Watched Pete's weekly report (from 6/11) and he said he came across a large amount of whites the other day. Appears they are getting fired up, which is a good thing....
  2. If you get a chance, post some pics of the new rig.... Anytime a plan comes in under budget, and you can still spend up to budget on electronics, that has to be a good day.. Congrats.
  3. I have a pack of those green pumpkin/orange ZinkerZs for the Ned, Will be drowning some of them starting on the 22nd...... Cant wait... X2 on the great pics....
  4. I agree its a pain to pack gear out every day, but when we come down to the lake for our week, I always pull the electronics off my boat. We may be guilty of leaving some rods and tackle boxes laying around, but we may have to rethink that now. And i never did think about trolling motor, but mine does not have the quick release. Hope you can get these low lifes.
  5. I came across this gem of a report from Bill from last July. It may be the most thorough report covering all areas of TRL I have seen. Even tho the bite seems to be behind "normal" patterns this year, it is still a great read for those with very few trips to the lake. As the water temps continue to rise, there are some great things in this report to keep in mind.
  6. What new rig is taking its palce?
  7. We stay at Lazy Lees across the cove. Do like the Lakeside resort, we normally hit it up for some ice cream after dinner. Nice report. A lot of the areas you mention are places we will hit in late June. Will use the info you provided. Thanks.
  8. Sounds awesome. As I sit at my desk at work, 19 days from our week long trip to TRL, I am hoping the good bite will continue thru that timeframe. Already daydreaming of where we will start each morning..... Loved the report....
  9. The power of the forum....
  10. We tore them up one morning last June on a fin. I did notice that when the bites started to slow down for 2 of the 3 of us, mine did not. The main difference was I had swapped out the back treble with a feathered (white and red) hook. I know its a small sample size of only one morning, but it seemed to make a difference. Even had a double on it. Made me a believer....
  11. Take it away from the pristine, clear waters of Table Rock and I bet all you will see is dirty water. I like how you can see several feet behind the lure and see the bass stalking it before it strikes.. I am on a Texas fishing forum and they had a topic on the video as well. Those boys had the same response we do, pretty cool footage.
  12. I have one on my high sided Tracker Targa and love it. Never use it at Table Rock for obvious reasons. But I do fish a tourney in Texas where most of our fishing is over shallow flats (2-6 FOW), full of grass and stumps. Down there we use it a ton, and has made a huge difference. It allows us to lock it down, fan-cast to all the targets, then raise and move 20 yards and repeat. I agree with mixermarkb on the drift paddle, that could be helpful on Table Rock. Essentially like a drift sock, will slow the boat down a bit on windy days. But I have not found one at a good price to purchase and try.
  13. I recently purchased a BB1Pro, cant wait to try it out. Retail of $199 was more than I was willing to fork out. Was able to find a deal on Ebay for $149 so i took the plunge. From what I read, I will not be disappointed. My first Lews reel, and gussing it wont me my last.
  14. For those of us that do fish docks. If you hang your lure in the front of the stall on the underwater superstructure, would you A. cut/break it off, or B. step out of the boat, onto the dock, and retrieve you lure then get back into the boat. Some will say a good dock fisherman doesn't get hung up, but we all know it happens. I have a feeling this is where the dock owners and dock fishers could disagree. If someone would be on the dock, I would ask permission to retrieve it. But if not, I would step off and quickly get it unhooked then continue fishing. Any opinions?
  15. Thanks for the reply. Those are some nice cats you have pictured. Gonna try several diff baits: stink, worms, cut, live, and garlic/Kool Aid soaked hot dogs. Will let ya know how we do. looks like the heat is gonna break, so it will be a nice day for some river cats.
  16. Thinking about going on the river Labor Day. Wondering if anyone has heard of any good numbers of cats being caught. Planning on trying a wide range of baits. Wanted to get a feeling on what might be currently working. Thanks.
  17. My brother and I go to east Texas every spring to fish a big bass tournament on Lake O' the Pines. For the first time in 5 years we finally boated one worthy of heading to the weigh in. His fish won the hourly prize ($1200) and he had to take a lie detector test. He said it was the most stressful thing ever. Even tho he knew he caught it legally, and was within the tourney rules, he said it still was nerve racking. Afterward the lady told him he had passed, but asked if he had an issue with a question about cheating at work. He replied, he worked 30 years for the coal mine, he was sure there was something he cheated them out of. He was thinking the whole thing was just a way to get him to sign the tax forms, until she said that.
  18. Hello all, I enjoy reading all the posts and seeing the pics that get posted. Set to come down the 22nd for a week of TRL fishing and fun... We stay midlake near Kimb City by point 7. I see plenty of posts concerning the river arms and around the dam area, but wondered about mid lake, say in the Schooner Creek/Cow Creek areas. We do hit the Mill Creek and Joe Bald areas often during our week, but was wanting more places to try. Myself and DanoP love getting info from this forum. If you see a deep V Tracker Targa with a 115 Merc and single power pole, be sure to stop by and introduce yourself. Thanks and good fishing....
  19. We will be at TRL late June, in your opinion, will the preferred color change between now and then, or will PBJ still be the ticket? Very interested in trying this out when we get down there. Thanks.
  20. As of 07:30 this morning (5/14), Outlet Bait and Tackle has a 60% sale going on and the have GYCB 5" single tail grubs for sale, $3.50 per 10 pack. Their shipping is normally quick and inexpensive (max $6.95). They only have 9 different colors listed, but maybe it happens to be one you are looking for. I do see a smoke with black/silver flake. The grubs are on page 2 of the sale if you are interested.
