  1. Yeah, I understand what your saying. I never throw my lures into trees or rocks, just water............. eventually! i have the Maui Jim RX and have to say that I love 'em!
  2. It is.............we love it there, just need to spend more time using it. one thing I've noticed though.......... the tackle manufacturers are making their wares heavier. I used to walk down with 2 or 3 rods and a box of tackle, but now I use the golf cart! And, since I use the cart, I tend to take everything but the kitchen sink!! What I've saved in energy walking down and back I now expend walking back and forth to the boat! I'm just not very smart 😂
  3. Been here 11 years now!
  4. Looks like he's having too much fun........ready for the boat to hook up and pull him ?? we're at Kings River Beach and have the same issues!
  5. IT's GOING DOWN, IT's GOING DOWN!!!!!!!!!........................well, at least until Wednesday!
  6. I raised that issue earlier this week!! I would think that if I'm smart enough to get out of dodge, that the COE would be smar........................oh never mind!!!
  7. We were down this weekend to flood proof our shed and decided to leave Saturday morning based on the current level and forecast rain. Good decision, if we had waited until today we wouldn't be able to get out of Shell Knob!! As it was we had to take 86 toKC and on to Springfield adding an hour to our drive..............now even 86 is closed. Not a good deal for people on the lake! And a hole lot worst for people below the dam. Be saying a few prayers for them!
  8. I tip my hat to everyone involved!!! Great job!
  9. I know the COE is trying to do a good job (I think) managing the levels, but after 5 months of frustration, I just had to get the rant out of my system! ?
  10. Phil, I understand and feel for you in the current situation. My point is that while the purpose of the dams on the White is flood control, they don't have to wait until 6 1/2 inches of rain has finished before they step up the release!! We would all benefit if they could find a way to anticipate events like this. That would allow increased flow out of the dam but spread it over a longer period ( if they would start the release before the rain hits ). That would keep the flow more manageable for you and those below the dam and reduce the "hold back" or the length of the hold back for Tablerock. Nobody like water levels or fluctuations that affect their business or pleasure!
  11. Just to follow up. I couldn't get my boat off the lift this winter and now I bet I'll have to use my john boat just to get to my dock!!! Gonna try to get down this weekend to fish in the coming rain and hope I hit the sweet spot between the low and high water!!!!!
  12. God help us then! I just can't understand they're thinking and would really like to see them be pro active when gulley washers are forecast and begin to transpire!
  13. Ditto^^.
  14. I always try to retrieve them....try to be quite if possible, but can always come back later in need be. Besides, I don't like to get down to only 2 or 3 of the same lures in each box! Now that I think about it, I probably need to lose some so I can spend my down time buying more!!
  15. Great job! Glad to hear there a few left! Gonna try it myself this weekend
  16. Ah Vernon, is he talking about you or me ??? ?
  17. Does it come in green pumpkin??
  18. Don't need no what or no how, just da location. got my ole crank phone to get um up!!!! .......................................Oh wait, think the DNR frowns on that unless they are doing it! No matter, just got ma john boat and it make ya dance like a chicken on a hot plate when you use it anyway
  19. Wow! That's a fish fry all by itself!!! Wish we had a few of it's brothers and sisters in the Rock!
  20. That spot looks it "wintered well", kinda like me! Good job!
  21. LOL Good Job! I know I've been a little punchy and my hands have started to shake the last couple of months, but I see the lake level has reached 910.......I can get my boat off the lift now........I see a road trip and a cure for my ills........................happy days are here again!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Learned my lesson last year! Inflatables do work and work well. I didn't have a ladder at the time, but do now! Just wish all of my valuable knowledge learned didn't come from a screw-up first!!
  23. Great job! But the report should be labeled Catchin'.
  24. Now as for Kathy's that's still an awful lot of money................. OMG! Vernon, be careful!!!! remember what's on the internet is there for life!! Could be grounds for divorce.. LOL I know the Mrs. gets on here from time to time..............and she doesn't always appreciate my humor!!!
  25. Welcome and a heck of a first report!!!!! Thanks!
