  5. Beautiful fish and great video! Congrats to you guys.
  6. That's a good problem to have....
  7. I understand that part but I don't think the numbers they stocked were huge. What I would like to see is, put a thousand every 3 years in. That shouldn't be enough to do to much damage but would put a chance of a world record at any point in the future. The other thing is, I think people sort of forget some times that the there is ALOT of good, almost untapped water past the branson landing. I'm talking, wide, deep beautiful water with plenty of cover to grow a giant world record brown trout. And they have plenty more to eat on down there than stocker rainbows, shad, crappie, bluegill etc.
  8. I would think with this kind of success and growth rates they would want to stock some more at some point? even if they put them in every 3 years or so it would put some monster fish in the lake for a long time.
  9. how do you like to fish your tubes, do you reel and shake, snap the rod and let it fall or do you like to drag it on the bottom with that bigger head?
  10. Ryan when you say they don't go thru the motions are you basically saying they don't run up stream in the fall like the regular browns do? I'm sure some do but does that mean some of these mega's might just stay down lake where they aren't bothered and just hammer away at bait fish all year long instead of making the run up? Also do you know if they plan to ever stock any again, it's been several years now? Maybe that's a question Phil can get an answer too. I sure hope they do.
  11. seems like there are a ton of them in the trophy area, you can see them as you drift down. maybe they are thick cause there is no bait allowed and they aren't caught.
  12. Adam the owner of Lakeshore on the video is a good friend of mine. We stay at his resort several times a year. Last year that jet boat darn near sunk my boat while it was on his dock. Another friend staying there almost had the same problem a month later. If you haven't been down there and seen the wake that devil boat throws you wouldn't understand. It's got no place at all down there!
  13. some of the nicest people I've never gotten the pleasure to actually meet in that boat. I'm glad you guys got together and had a blast. I've had that "megabass" fever for about 3 years, the prescriptions are not cheap to fill I can tell you that
  14. I would really like to attend one of these sometime and meet all the fine folks on here!
  15. Congratulations to BOTH of you. What a story!!
  16. Spoiler alert it looks like according to Facebook one of the night time boys just caught a BIG brownie! Watching from afar and wish I could have joined to meet all the great folks on here. Congrats!
  17. do you fish them on the bottom or just really close to the bottom? coming down Saturday, can't wait!
  18. Good luck, looking forward to the reports and pictures. I've got 16 days left then I'll be down there for 9 days over thanksgiving. Can't get here fast enough.
  19. I've got a nice little stash of them on the way as well but mine haven't arrived quite yet. I'm thinking with that color that a guy could add a few dots with a sharpie and make a decent trout imitation ? Certainly won't be a Doty special but could possibly work. I'll be the guinea pig with them next month.....
  20. Thank you for the reply and tip. I will give that a shot.
  21. I have the tool and I'm trying a decent bug but it spinning around the hook. Any tips?
  22. Congrats to Nomolites, enjoy that treasure. Classy move Duane! Love the forums on this thing, lots of good folks.
  23. pretty fish and a good report. When I started fly fishing this summer I kind of feel in love with it, I bought some waders thinking maybe sometime I would wade below the dam if I didn't have my boat. Well I'm on this taney fly fishing facebook group and I swear every time I see a picture of a fish there is a ton of people in the back ground all close to each other. Not sure that looks like much fun to me so i'll probably stick to my boat fishing or use it to beach somewhere in the lower trophy area away from folks. I just can't believe how packed it looks during the week of late.
  24. I was hoping to make some where the bead is attached to the hook, basically threaded on the hook.
