  1. that's great, thank you say, was the bite better early or late? or mid day? man, it's been WAY too long since I've spent the day on Bull
  2. nice work jolicious and thanks for the Dick Blick tip
  3. it doesn't bother me at all if somebody cuts in front or comes up close to me when I'm fishing remember, it's all about the attitude
  4. they say 688' by July 4th
  5. sweet, you should really post some pics here too
  6. might want to be looking at places to stay that still have a place to park and launch a boat nearby. with the lake being almost 30' high it will be even higher come mid July if this keeps up. yep, there's plenty of cats in Bull
  7. I might as well get used to it.. have that gut feeling this high water isn't going anywhere for a VERY long time, I'm thinking months. would not be surprised if we see max pool levels before long 682.23 today recreational water quality reports for taney county http://www.taneycohealth.org/download/week3_rec_water_quality_report.pdf
  8. Spring Ck. looks good I'd like to say thank you to the courtesy dock hand. parking is limited Theodosia the grassy area is about gone , not much parking just above the bridge there's another small area to launch ,but few parking spots Quite a bit of debris in the water in places. park closed
  9. 679.88 HardHead, the lake is rising pretty fast, the fishing will be better on the White for sure. The reports I'm getting are not even worth mentioning besides some topwater before dark Not a lot of people around , so crowds are deff. not a prob. Stay clear of Theodosia to avoid the debris. It's not horrible , but there is quite a bit. There's 50' trees floating around in some places up there. The Theodosia park is about unusable, will probably be closed by Monday if not already. From Biltmore cove and to the south you should be alright. Arkansas side should be fine also. have not seen any brown water anywhere lately. If i have enough time before work I'm going to spring creek to check out the launching situation there. they have been launching a few boats off the street next to theodoisa marina, but if they have to move docks that might not be an option
  10. 677.47 going up WT 80's this high water has been a blessing for the fishing communities. the tributaries were/are running enough water for the whites and walleye to have a good spawn. had an AWESOME black bass hatch this year too that will help ensure good fishing for the future. this 5lber was on guard duty that day guess they closed lakeview swim beach last week because of high water and e coli http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Media/NewsReleases/tabid/7165/Article/600185/corps-closes-lakeview-swim-beach-on-bull-shoals-lake-until-further-notice.aspx
  11. cool, what was the water temp?
  12. bet that river water feels great!! i did some creek wading the other day, felt good 677.31, unless it rains again 10 day forecast looks as if it might
  13. thanks buddy
  14. good job fellas!
  15. nice one's ! how deep did you find them?
  16. good reports, did someone say pitching and flipping?! i like pitching , ok let's be honest, I'm addicted to it! 5bites, glad you stuck with your pitching bite. it's not bull headed, it's what you like to do ,so have fun doing it! when flip'n and pitching I put my boat in the gnarliest stuff I can find all the time so what if it get's scraped and scratched, I'm after big bites!
  17. i don't actually "like" the fact that it is happening, i just agree with 96 champ that's all
  18. Right now we have just been seeing smaller schools. i've found big schools of walleye suspended ,especially in late August and Sept. when they first start following the shad to the creeks. they usually hang in the same spots for longer periods. Near a major channel, next to a deep hump, around standing timber,or adjacent to a point. They are typically 40' + deep by then. I still long line troll them and/or use jigging spoons if they are relating to the bottom. The only time I drag a harness is in June and July during the bluegill spawn when they can be found in the 25-35'zone on big flats. there may be other ways to catch them better, or catch them bigger, but I try to keep it as simple as possible, and just stick to what i already know works for me
  19. was in Howard Ck. near the cr15 launch ramp about 5-6yrs ago we had 9 that day fishing jigs with minnows in february in about 10fow i had a 9" yellow perch way way way up the theodosia arm this past winter in 3fow in the creek she must have just hung around up there long after the water went down i rarely see/hear of anybody catching any these days
  20. 676.95 and rising Wt 78 watch out and be more careful, some areas in the Theodosia arm and other feeder streams still have lots of debris. The further up/back you go, the more debris.
  21. i'm one of those guys who can't seem to catch a walleye on an umbrella rig. Not even 1 ! As much as I throw one for whites in March and April it's never happened:( I'm anxiously waiting for the bluegill to start spawning . The walleye bite get's a little easier for me then when they start hanging around the flats eating perch.
  22. WT 78 676.90 and rising It's not the best, but they can be caught if you drag some cranks that dive 16-20' over 100+ fow while following major creek channels. Half way up some of the major creek arms on the MO side has been a good place to start, then work your way back out towards the mouth..Fish have been scattered so once you find a few w/ the finder make multiple passes back and forth. Best time has been mid day, 11-2. Lots of 17" fish with the occasional 5lb class. A few small keepers here and there.Black back w/ silver sides has been a very good color.. Good luck
  23. Master G44 kit from TCP http://www.tcpglobal.com/ http://www.tcpglobal.com/Airbrushing-Supplies/Master-Airbrush/ thanks for the positive feedback fellas
  24. i'm really surprised there aren't more reports of people catching bass flipping and pitching on TR. If I fished there, that's what I would do. I catch a lot of heavy bass on BS flipping and pitching.. but most of the guys I know who fish Bull don't /won't flip.
  25. sounds right Mike, thanks for the report i've been hearing nothing but good things about the brown bass
