  7. WW if it's been ten years since you've fished Bull you'll be happy to see there's finally some strong numbers of largemouth bass in the lake again. The last few years they have really made a comeback. Also there's the trillion smallmouth bass we have living in the lake now too lol !
  8. very cool Al I found a dalton in MO. it's a one in a million piece! anybody know/recommend an HONEST person who knows about MO arrowheads and can authenticate it for me? Somebody who isn't in the relic business just to make money, lol
  9. good luck on the sturgeon trip ! I've heard of some walleye being caught with grubs while bass fishing. Also in the evenings with jerkbaits. The catfish ,crappie, bass, and bluegill have been biting so good I haven't even tried for walleye. All I need is time to go do it.
  10. Donna I live with 2 diabetics and cook for them regularly. We've been trying to limit our fried food intake so I baked some bluegill fillets. Lined the bottom of a 9x13 cake pan with foil, then the added the fish. I used a 1/2 stick of butter cut into little chunks and put them on top of the fillets.Added a medium sliced onion ,1 sliced lemon, s&p and a pinch of greek seasoning. Covered pan with foil and baked at 400 for about 30 minutes. We ate the whole pan,lol
  11. my attitude towards sharing water is obviously WAY diff. than merc and Mitch and others.. I can see your reasoning. Decided long ago to just fish and not worry/care about what the other guy is doing. I catch more fish that way.
  12. why is it always bass fishermen who bitch/gripe about people fishing too close? I don't mind if someone is fishing right beside me. Pulls in front or behind, follows me. I just don't care...
  13. fishing has been good! thanks for reporting
  14. wt 63-71 We pan fished for numbers on 4/20. I was using micro jigs ,power bait and live bait and my friend was using minnows under a cork..Together we caught just over 200 fish. I caught 170ish, mostly gills. We had several nice keeper crappie ,he caught most of them , but threw a lot of them back. He also caught a 6 lb drum on an ultra light w/ 2lb test! . My goal was to catch 200 fish by myself but we lost some fishing time because of the rain. Fished bluffs with channel swings in the Theodosia arm in 1-9fow. Friday morning I was solo and went out pretty early. Fished about 3 1/2 hours. Found a decent lm bass bite with crankbaits. All keepers in the 3lb range. Found them in 2 places suspended around shad at creek mouths near the channel at 8-15' over 30-45. Bite was good for a little bit but by mid morning they seemed to be full so I called it a day and went morel hunting. Hit the lake around 2:00 on Saturday with another buddy. He put me on some really nice smallies fishing steep banks in the coves with grubs. Boat sitting about 2 casts offshore in 50+ with bites coming about half way back to the boat. I had a few keepers on a wacky worm too. Lots of shad around us. He caught a 5' long gar with the grub on 4lb test! Fight lasted 25 minutes and I got some of that on video when the gar jumped like a tarpon! Around 5:00 we went looking for some largemouth. I wanted to flip :(, but he wanted to topwater, so he ran to the backs of some creeks in shin deep water and found some bass chasing shad. Small poppers and walkers in the 2-3" range worked pretty good. Mostly short fish but there were a few post spawn lm in the 2lb range mixed in with them. Put the boat back on the trailer around 7.
  15. anybody been painting lately?
  16. Saw a 350 Merc on the back of one ZZZZZZOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!
  17. dude, no offense but I wouldn't even get in the boat with you if you told me for the next 40 minutes we'll be doing 70mph ,lol thanks for sharing your experience!
  18. thanks Brian for explaining this to where I can better understand. I've asked some people about it before a long time ago but they didn't seem to want to share with me exactly why they made those really long runs. I had a hard time trying to figure it out because water temps, clarity, phase of spawn, confidence areas ,long runs and such don't determine where I'll be bass fishing on BS. The way I learned how to bass fish here has one major factor that determines locations and all those other things take a back seat to it. Like mentioned before if I didn't have sonar I'd be lost.
  19. ....bass fishing pressure on Bull??? yes lot's of boats but there's more than enough shoreline and bass for everybody. Even when there's 300+ boats. Then there's all that untapped potential out in open water. Can run as far away from people as wanted, but still gotta catch the bass when I get there. Always wondered why some people run 40+ miles the other direction from take off or any other time just to catch bass when they drove over a million getting there. idk, I know some people know sections of the lake better than other areas so that has to be one reason.Sometimes it pays off. Sometimes it's run a long way for nothing. The lake has equal potential from one end to the other. When one area gets a few wins some think they need to fish there too because they believe they have too, or they tell me they ain't biting nowhere else, or other areas of the lake are fished too hard etc. There's a lot of boats out there fishing this time of year but not many are catching the bigger size bass so those bass aren't getting much pressure at all. Saw a lot of 0's in the T results and the conditions were ideal both days for fishing shallow, mid,or deep.. Almost every cat I saw Fri/Sat was parked right on top of the bass they were fishing for, and casting to within inches of the shoreline. As soon as one boat would leave another come in fish the same way and this went on both days..Yes some bass were caught that way. Some of the guys who made the top 15 said their fish were near to the shoreline, but not really on it. I rely heavily on electronics to consistently catch bass. Without a depth/fish finder I'd be lost on Bull. She was a tough nut to crack.
  20. and the winners are ???
  21. I hope you are also joking. This is why you've been on the ignore list. For a very long time. Like Mark said. It was a joke.
  22. 658.72 First cast was around 8:30. Slow start, but then I found a few schools of kentuckies willing to eat the finesse worm on a ds. Caught about 3 dozen. There were 17 keepers in the bunch that were 12-14" long and all were released. Played with them for a while before taking a lunch break. Went back out about 1:30. Caught dozens of perch with a new D-Shock ultralight combo. They love micro jigs tipped with power bait. Found some crappie too with 1/8oz grubs. Got enough for supper so I ran across the lake and began slow cranking a deep diving jerkbait. This time it was all largemouth. Had 9 bites landed 8 of them. Six were keepers. She was the biggest....the other keepers were 3lb class, all released. Tried to run a pattern in close proximity but the spot I caught those largemouth from was by a specific kind of bank. There wasn't another one like it nearby so with just a couple hours of daylight left and wanting to stay close to home I went back to perch fishing. There's a hatch going on and the action is as good as it gets imo.
