  1. I'm not sure there is a best color. Just grab one that vaguely resembles a baitfish and go for it
  2. Thanks for the responses ya'll, I'm going to try my best to get there (darn work lol)
  3. Odd request, but could anyone here post some info/video/pics from the January 17 MSA meeting? I live nearby in Richmond Heights but unfortunately my work schedule makes it virtually impossible for me to attend any sort of weekday evening events. Its possible I might be able to make the last 30 minutes or so but I figure the event will be dying down by then anyway. Really hoping try out these elusive craws this year
  4. Those jigs look fantastic
  5. Been following this on Swimbait Underground and the Swimbait Facebook groups, crazy to see what folks were bidding. Too rich for my blood but it is definitely a beautiful bait
  6. I too hope to land some of these unicorns one day (Mitch's craws that is!)
  7. Awesome pics. Looks like a great day to me
  8. Great video! Was he throwing a swim jig? I couldn't see in the video
  9. Meth and gigging game fish, gotta love MO
  10. Ouch. Hope you recover quickly and get back in the game soon!
  11. Sorry for the delay. I like most all the colors that resemble a shad. He does several patterns that fit the bill (purple back, sexy, etc) Tackle Warehouse and Last Chance are good sources for them, or also check out tripletrout.com where you can sometimes find unique sizes and color patterns. Scott the owner is a good dude and makes a great product
  12. I've fished the Deps 175 and S Waver a little bit on the Eleven Point, Current and Mac. Caught a few but nothing of serious size. The main issue with fishing glides in rivers (at least in my opinion) is that most don't do well in much current on account of their slower sink rates. Also, it seems that the bigger glides just have a better swim to them, and stuff like a 250 or Hinkle are just a little much for Ozark river smallies. Truth be told, I've sold off all my glides with the exception of a HPH, they really just aren't my style for some reason. Now, if you are really interested in throwing swimmers for smallmouth, I suggest getting a couple Triple Trouts. They'll smoke em
  13. Yep that's me! I use the same handle on a few different forums
  14. Might want to post this in the Table Rock forum. I'm sure those guys will have some good info for you!
  15. Ha I thought you looked kinda familiar too. By the way I have a Quincy Street hat like yours, just is in camo
  16. Nice work on that jig fish!
  17. This fear is part of the reason I went with the catfish option lol
  18. I'm off tomorrow and had considered heading out there as well, but will be catfishing up in Grafton instead. Good luck and let us know how you do!
  19. I'm not sure color really matters, I just pick one and roll with it. Though most of the topwaters I throw at smallmouth are some kind of baitfish pattern. Casting gear for me. 10# on my medium setup, 8# on my medium-light
  20. Sad to hear this. I had many good times at Fellows when I lived in Springfield
  21. I'd say thats a hell of a good day !
  22. My favorites in no particular order: LC Gunfish, Lunker Punkers, Megabass Giant Dog X, LC Sammy Have a couple Duo Pencils on the way right now, I have a feeling they'll make their way in to the regular rotation
  23. Sounds like a great day to me!
  24. Ha, story of my life! Glad you guys did well! Looks like fun was had
