  1. I had to do a double take before realizing this thread said 2009 and not 2019
  2. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Defier Armilo for a while now but have always told myself mono "shouldn't" cost that much. Next time a sale pops up I might have to try a spool. What size are you using?
  3. I like 30# PP for walking topwaters usually with as 15# mono leader, but I know guys who use anywhere from 15 to 50 with good results
  4. Call me crazy, but I think the next state record brown bass might come out of a river 🤷‍♂️
  5. Anybody notice the color martens was using? I was a little surprised as most of my success dropshotting at TR has been with shad and night crawler type patterns. Just proves I need to get out of my comfort zone and take a chance more often
  6. Definitely interesting! I was watching on day 1 or 2 when they had the screen split among 4 anglers, all were fishing very differently, yet they all were catching em' consistently
  7. This showdown between Martens and Montgomery has been pretty entertaining. Ive always liked Aaron but both seem like good dudes
  8. I thought the game is at 2?
  9. Only 1 fish over 5# so far, I figured there might be more, but I guess this is a quantity game anyway. Definitely enjoying the bit that I can watch
  10. Ah yes I'm in that group also, wasn't sure if OP used Facebook
  11. You should check out the Swimbait Underground forums, lots of good info
  12. Oh I know it would be nearly impossible to determine, just wish that wasn't the case haha
  13. I'm more interested in the end mortality rate than where the fish are released.
  14. Yea a lot, but like Ham I don't really thrown them without one. I just keep it simple and use a Zoom fluke as my trailer
  15. These look excellent
  16. Same here. Probably the easiest way to catch river smallmouth.
  17. Oh, and if you want something a little more heavy duty, check these out, excellent jig heads. This reminds me I need to order more. A company called Flatlands also does a head similar to these https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lifted_Jigs_Flippin_Tube_Jigheads_3pk/descpage-LIFTFL.html
  18. I love tubes, probably my favorite bait and overlooked by too many people. I usually only fish heavier heads on 4"+ size tubes. Poor Boy's, Cabin Creek, Right Bite, and Snack Daddy are all excellent choices. If you don't want to rig them stupid style weedless check out some of the guys who sell on ebay. I've bought wire guard heads from this guy several times, if you don't see the configuration you want ask and he will do it for you: https://www.ebay.com/usr/tn_d1?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
  19. Great fish, looks like a fantastic time on the water! Perfect example of how braving the cold can really pay off
  20. Did they close up shop? The stilletto is a darn nice spinner
  21. Looks like a great time! December has been crazy for me, hopefully I'll be able to get out more in January
  22. Good work, posts like this reassure me there are still plenty of good fish in Table Rock! They also reassure me that I'm doing it wrong haha
  23. When I saw the video I immediately thought of the duck boat video they kept showing on the news. Could've been a tragedy
  24. Awesome fish!
  25. Shhhh....big baits don't work in Missouri... But seriously, you are 100% spot on about letting the tackle do the work. With an appropriately rated rod, heavy baits are no more effort than anything else.
