It's crazy for us that "blind" fish. Think how many times you pull up on a spot to fish and catch nothing and you leave thinking they weren't there. In truth a lot of times they just ignored your junk. FFS just takes the guess work out of the equation.
I read these two guys were both 19. I think the kid that won at Lake Fork earlier this year was 19 too. When you have low 50s wind and clouds and its pre spawn this will become more common with FFS. It's the perfect recipe and the stars were aligned. Experience and time on the water is not a prerequisite for success these days. Hats off to them. It's a different ballgame now.
There was a time when I was interested in reading articles on Bassmaster or Bassfan after tournaments to see how practice went and eventually how the top finishers figured the puzzle out. Not any more
I will tape tournaments on TV and if it's a scope deal which it seems to be all the time now I just erase it. Boring as hell to me. There was an MLF on recently where Alton JR was wearing them out on a spinnerbait in the trees, that was fun to watch.
The guy leading is flying by the seat of his pants, he doesn't have anything "figured out" unless hes sandbagging which I don't think he is. Should be a great weigh in.
I got a funny feeling they are going to win today. I have no money to back up that feeling but it just smells ripe for an upset. A lot of good games all weekend for football fans.
What have you guys used in the past and what is your preferred setup for cranking and trolling . I’m not running livescope just some basic lowrance HDS graphs. Just curious about brand batteries you trust .
I completely agree , nobody needs to see the name of the guy in the lead. Some guys are flippers , dock skippers, deep structure, shallow crankers, etc. Denny Brauer is leading I should tie a jig on, gives too much away. Figure it out on your own your supposed to be a pro.
Fishing has gone a little sideways if you ask me. They talk about banning A-Rigs in some of these tournaments which I really don't care either way. But if that is going to be a topic of conversation then throw livescope in there too. Map, water temp, depth, and your eyes and lets see who can catch them.
Thanks for the opinions and input. Every time this topic comes up I always hear good and bad. One of the big differences between the "pros" and everyone else is that they have tech crews in the boat yard that are ready to work on their boats if needed to get it all dialed in. We don't. Technology is a fickle friend.
Hey Wrench I have a buddy looking at a 2004 triton with a 225 merc on it. It's been sitting for 2 years, what should he be most worried about concerning the engine?
