  6. Why, talk to the guide before the trip and maybe bring a rod or two if you like. His office is his boat. Listen, ask questions and fish.
  7. Looks like your standing in the garage, throw that thing back in the water
  8. Does anyone throw the old Rebel Pop R anymore? Or any poppers for that matter. Any tricks of the trade would be appreciated.
  9. I'm gonna throw this Ned rig for a sec, it's almost has become the a-rig on here. This lake is all about the weather. Who knows I'll let the sun and wind tell me
  10. Love this forum, just wanted an opinion on line for spinning reels. You guys are sickos and I love ya for it. Be down next week can't wait
  11. I bought some 6 and 8lb maxima, give it a shot.
  12. Just kidding with ya. I just can't resist with your screen name out there.
  13. I didn't know Red Sox fans could read
  14. I get kinda picky about fishing line. I'm looking to try something new for my spinning reels. Anyone have any thoughts, what about Maxima?
  15. Fishing "ugly" water is an interesting subject. I remember reading an article about that subject years ago. Its a hard thing to make your self do sometimes but it can pay off. I put a 3 1/2 in the boat that got a top 10 for us one trip and it was the ugliest bank in the creek. Think about all the shoreline you drive past all the time because it doesn't look or feel right.
  16. I'm sure Babler will know. I'm about to sit down and watch it, always neat to see the lake on TV.
  17. The elite tourney is on ESPN 2 this morning at 7
  18. Techo I feel for ya buddy. I know you love that creek and it is a great ramp. When I come down I've always stayed a stones throw from there. The knuckleheads strike again and ruin it for the people who care.
  19. Did I see that right "REDSOXWSCHAMP" THOSE ARE FIGHTING WORDS AROUND THESE PARTS
  20. Gitzits are always a good bait to try if your a bed fisherman.
  21. I'm jealous to say the least. I can think of a million questions to ask. In your mind what separates these guys from you and your buddies that you fish with. Is it their mechanics of working a rod and reel in casting? Do they read water better? Versatility? I know you could probably say all of the above but did you see anything that stood out.
  22. If these guys are burning that much gas they aren't throwing jerkbaits. To me this boils down to who can make the most casts in a day with there favorite crankbait in the dirtiest water. Mix in a jig every now and then and ya get the trophy.
  23. I guessed 76-8 would take it. I would imagine they are looking for dirty water to crank. If you listen closely you can pick something up from these weigh ins. Mark Davis seems to be dialed in pretty good but this lake will humble even the best.
  24. They couldn't pick a better week to be at the Rock, it should be on big time. I'll guess 76-8 takes it for 4 days with a crankbait the main deal. Unless they are bed fishing like they are at St. Johns these guys don't slow down to much anymore. If the fish will bite a crank that's what these guys will throw. I heard VanDam likes to throw one. The local economy should get a good boost which is what really matters. Just get them back in the lake alive.
  25. I think some people are over reacting to the Hite conversation with Evers. He opened his rod box and pulled three rods out, said he had a couple megabass cranks and a vibrating jig on. He didn't display it for the camera but I think Hite was there to just get a few quick comments when they pulled out of the water. Evers was signing autographs when Hite approached him and seemed alright considering he knew he was short. These guys know what weight they got and they talk to each other, he knew he lost. As for as showing his fish why would he at the ramp, that's silly. I was surprised he pulled out what he did. Hite even said I'm not messing with your livewell.
