Agreed, but the flood of 2017 on the NFOW was WAY more than just a periodic flood. They said it was 1,000 year flood I believe. It was a catastrophe. And though the river is healing, it won't be quite the same for a good long while.

Who, Paul Dallas? Once parole arrives, full resumption of duties. Or Phil?, I think he is going to live as long as Noah. 900 years +

NFOW has fished much better the last couple years. I think it just needs another 3 or 4 years to be back to its former glory, at least for trout. My theory is that water temps aren't as big a problem as good habitat and cover from the stripers. And those root wads will wash down eventually from the upper. There needs to be a barrier for the stripers. Let them run up Bryant, but the NFOW needs the defense that Dawt dam offered, in some fashion, IMO.

Happy birthday, Phil. Take care of yourself. Once we hit 50, we all know that check engine light comes on and refuses to go off. Here's to hoping you have a lot of good years left on the tires.

Livescope fisherman are not fisherman. They are the laziest of lazy. Worse than a teenager with a credit card. And they know it.

Over the years, I've caught a more than a few parr-marked wild small fish in the Current and elsewhere. I think there is some natural reproduction going on, but limited. Or maybe fry from the hatchery, washed out during a flood? just growing up and appearing natural.

I've found the Steelhead from Aldi's to be pretty durn good on cedar planks, and stuffed mushroom caps. Paired with Morpho Gin from 4Hands with a splash of club soda.

Paul Dallas is a world book encyclopedia of all things Salmo Trutta. Here he poses with a highland, sabre-tooth Redbreasted brown, a rare species found only in the Black River, county Kerry, IRE.

Looks tasty. My favorite style of pizza. Do you have a forno?

Nice brown on a jig at Monkey Island
ColdWaterFshr replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Nice fish. The fog on the water looks so inviting in all this heat we've been having. And where are all the boats? Was this early evening? You had that stretch all to yourself. Looks like the time to be out there. -
It seems like this entire sales-pitch-of-a-thread belongs in the Buy-Sell-Trade forum, no? . . . where everyone else has to go who is looking to sell something. Just my $0.02 worth.

I would've said nothing if not for the 4 smallmouth pic out in a parking lot of a river bass tournament. As for the product, I'm sure its good. But c'mon. I can probably find 5 competing brands, very similar weight, hook style, weed guard "mathematical angle" -- now that was funny. And proudly made in the USA? I didn't know Mustad has a production facility for their 32798 hooks in the US?

For those of you who have completed the Blue Ribbon Trout Slam…
ColdWaterFshr replied to ElkHairCaddis's topic in Trout Talk
I'm not sure the rules of the contest, but I've caught fish in all the blue ribbon streams at one time or another. Barren might've been the easiest, if only because it was my most recent along my journey of exploring all these places. 2nd or 3rd cast, no joke. The biggest challenge on Barren was just getting there. Access is difficult. Some work involved, probably some trespassing. But once on the stream, with the right cast at the right spot . . .the wild fish are usually willing and eager. I would say the summer months are the most difficult possible time to attempt these small streams, if only for your suffering of bugs, heat, thorny brush, and poor water conditions. -
Mike Lindell in Springfield, MO tomorrow at University Plaza Hotel, along with Rudy Giuliani. Oh my golly, what a hot ticket. How can I get one? No one toad me the carnival was in town and now I'm pist. Guess I'll have to watch it on Ingraham later.

So, dear graduate of human behavior, help unravel some truths. Fake elector schemes. Mark Meadows texts offering financial assistance from the T campaign to Georgia state election officials. Tampering with actual voting machines. Mar-A-Lago holding SCIF material in a storeroom, lying about it repeatedly, then trying to destroy evidence. That kinda stuff. I'm only scraping the edges of 2 of the 4 iceberg sized indictments . . .minor sub-headings of 45, page and 97 page hundred-plus point arguments in just each of those 2. You haven't read a page of any of it, have you. You don't even vote, so shut up.
-
And where does one go to find the truth? Truth Social, of course. 🤣🤣 Holy moses, I hope you're not paying a subscription for that. Or do you save all your money for PragerU premium? 🤣

Ditto-head/Rush Limbaugh statement, Mitch. F. The world's airwaves are finally free of his putrid amplitude modulations, and Mitch tries to resurrect the uninspired, unoriginal wit of the ultimate cut-down . . . ."libtards"? Do you miss Tucker that bad, and Laura or Hannity just can't get you there? 🤣 Too much horse de-wormer, Nick. Thats all I can figure. Mitch still gets his jollies saying "lets go Brandon" . . . all the while not reading a sentence of any one of the very 4, count 'em FOUR, serious and well-documented criminal indictments that have piled up. Reading isn't what he does. Prager U video's that dumb it down and explain it to him in a way that he likes to hear, . . . is what he does. Our rule of law undermined like never before, faith shattered in the system for no good reason. . . and an apathetic, un-caring, gnat-attention-span public. Facts used to matter. Now its everyone's free speech and entitlement to a BS opinion! We should all tune in next Monday night to see what revelations the Great Orange Fraud will unveil about the 2020 election. Some real edge of seat facts that we have been waiting 3 1/2 years for. Maybe it will be a re-run of My Pillow Guy's BS symposium, oooh, don't spoil it! Maybe not. I say give him the air time and if it all proves to be BS, . . . . . can Mitch own it and accept it once and for all? Enquiring Minds want to know!!! 🤣🤣 FOOL!

"Ever" is a pretty strong word. Back in the day, I imagine plenty of horse and buggy folks made similar comments after seeing a Model T Ford run out of gas, or have a flat tire, or a mechanical problem. Not saying EV or hybrids or anything is the end-all, be-all . . . but I digress.
-
So to summarize your talking points, man-made climate change is a hoax, is that right?
-
Alright, I'll bite. So is your supposition that the entire EV industry is a zero-sum gain in terms of an net reduction of greenhouse gases? Or that EV's energy efficiency isn't superior to internal combustion engine? Or lets just make it even more simple. Do you believe that man-made climate change isn't real? Or that wind-power, solar energy, and searching for alternatives to fossil fuels is all just touchy-feely liberal poppycock? I'll concede that mining of lithium is not without its problems.
-
You are a fool, Mitch. but for some goddam reason, I still like you.
-
Well, . . . . Florida . . . big hurricane . . . . it will all go smoothly then without any EV's. Hopefully Mar-a-Lago will be spared! Too many sensitive documents could be washed out to sea! Then we have a cluster of huge proportions. A resort losing its SCIF's???🤣
-
So do EV's requirement of fossil energy require more, or less than current gas motor vehicles?
-
Hey oneshot, this will haul you around your rain-starved lawn just fine . . . and guilt free, too. Its electric. The price tag may give you a bit of a shock though.

Kindness is missing for sure. But if self-centered behavior is our new norm, where does kindness fit in? It can't. This is the emotional climate that we live in.
