  1. Last night we had some clown in a wake boat pulling young kids on a tube till after 9 PM. Circles just off our dock. I had thoughts of brandishing a shot gun but figured he was probably to stupid or inebriated to notice.
  2. I was visiting my mother at a Florida retirement community in January and went to the local course to pass some time. I hooked up with a threesome that included an eighty five year old. The rest of us were all in our sixties. We had to find his ball after every shot but he beat everyone by at least 2 strokes.
  3. I had a good Bass day on the Upper Niangua, although a completely different pattern. Fished 1 Pm to 7 PM with plastics tight to the shore. About 20 fish with 2/3s keeper size up to around 4#. Lost a couple bigger bass, maybe 5 to 6#. Best day so far this year. And now the weather changes again.
  4. I still have my Mitchell 308, a Pearl Handled Ambassadeur, New Creme Worms, River Runts and assorted paraphernalia. I'm up for a 1960s derby anytime. We could allow Cottonseed Cake and Ivory soap along with any self collected native bait like Mussels, Hellgramites, Stonnerollers etc.
  5. Welcome, I'm a LOZ guy myself and we need more posts. It seems the Table Rock fishers do all the posts. I look forward to your reports.
  6. Had to do it on my Stratos, bought the cable kit from West Marine. It was cheaper at the time to buy a kit including the rack than to just buy the cable. It wasn't to bad a project except for having to remove the engine to get the cable hooked up. Still all good after about 4 years.
  7. Anyone had to replace a flat glass section of a Fish and Ski windshield. Must have caught a rock on the road yesterday and shattered the passenger side glass. I'm thinking I can make a template and have a glass shop cut a piece. How about a good glass shop in Camdenton or Osage Beach?
  8. Glad to have you here, where are you staying-fishing now?
  9. After a string of calculations which are probably wrong, from hearsay information, I came up with an acre foot being worth about 8 dollars which would put the value of all the water in LOZ at $16,000,000 at normal pool. If the lake is one foot above normal pool that foot of water would be worth 8x54000=$432,000?
  10. Not to change the subject, although I have hit a few houses. Can anyone explain the value of the water for generation? What is a Acre/Ft. worth at peak demand and how does that compare to value at minimum demand. I'm sure the lake level (Head Pressure) also has some bearing on the power produced. Just curious.
  11. I figured that was the deal, but didn't realize it could be that much. It has finally dropped a couple of inches here. Over night a boat dock with a Jon and a Pontoon moved in about 50 yards down from me. Sure glad it didn't take out our dock as it came by.
  12. It's not dropped any yet on Niangua. Now to the top of the top of the trailer fender. Perhaps someone can explain how levels at the dam have been dropping for hours and it's still rising here?
  13. Ameren discharge chart shows the lake is now falling.http://apps.ameren.com/HydroElectric/Reports/Osage/HeadWaterTailWater.aspx however you can't tell it here at Ha Ha Tonka. It appears to have come up 8 inches since 11 AM but Amerens charts shows the rise at about 4". Maybe since we're 50 miles from the dam it takes time to show here. The COE info shows Truman Dam with no discharge till Wednesday so hopefully they get things under control B4 they next rains forecast for Wed.
  14. I've been looking for info also. Lake is up 18" since noon, but we still have a foot or so till it reaches regular summer pool. Here on the 15MM of the Niangua we have had a strong current with full grown trees floating past. Ameren is releasing 35000 CFS but it appears that needs to be increased ASAP.
  15. Had planned on taking my old Fish and Ski in for service today, but decided it needed some cleaning first. I had a sample bottle of the Pur Kleen which I proceeded to use on the lower unit. After a few sprays and some elbow grease the scale was not affected but I was getting paint on my scrub brush and wiping rag. At that point my better half decided to help and came out with a tub of old orange juice. In 15 minutes she had all the white scale off the lower unit and was cleaning the transom. Who wooda thunk it.
  16. Sounds like I missed a great time. I had planned to fish with and meet you all before the date got changed. I had thought I would have company here at LOZ for the BBB but the weather changed all that too. Do another one soon, maybe a fall event?
  17. i'm with you on the drum. I can catch them on a bass rig, crappie jig, catfish rig etc. I have my best luck when fishing bass derbys, although my best walleye fishing is always during a bass tourney.
  18. Rude idiot is exactly correct. Probably the same guy that weaves thru highway traffic at 90 when the flow is 80. I propose we have a new forum dedicated to photos and video's of that durn rude idiot. Perhaps if he sees himself online a few times, or the kids see him on facebook, things could change but I doubt it. As a side note I found half his lower unit on a point across from the house last week, but he must of had it fixed already.
  19. The Crappie are on the banks shallow now in the Niangua. Chartreuse tube with a black head worked for me. Afternoon water temp 60 degrees.
  20. I hear the dock repair guys are seeing a lot of sick bass, bare skin and white scale patches. I'm wondering if it's from tournament released fish damaged in the livewell? I'm with Wrench, all derbys should be Catch Photo Release. It should be mandatory.
  21. If I was 23 rather than 63 I'd be at your door. As it is I'll have to stay with part time computer work instead of knuckle busting. It is a generous offer however, in both cases.
  22. Need to change things up a bit. Remember when? You could camp at the Onondaga low water bridge for 2 dollars a car load. Camp at Big Eddy free. Camp at the Mud Bank? Park on the road at Indian Creek and actually use it. Indian Creek Campground? Run a prop motor because the banks weren't yet beat down. Cambell Bridge B4 it fell in the river. Good Smallies on Lazy Ikes, River Runts and Crème Worms. O Well.
  23. I gave up on the Meramec years back, between the jet boats (I do have one), habitat degradation and SMA elitists. I think I'll give up on this forum now. I've always caught good fish from the Meramec and never needed a 5 dollar craw. Best Wishes to all of you.
  24. I'm voting for the Diawa Tatula CT, bought one about a month ago and it is wonderful. Casting distance is good and so far no backlash problems. Found mine on Amazon for $90.
  25. According to the Minn Kota website, you cannot use a foot pedal with a Power Drive that has I Pilot. My newest used boat came with PD I Pilot and a brand new foot pedal, when I connected it only the motor operates. It will not steer. Anybody want to buy a pedal cheap? http://www.minnkotamotors.com/Support/FAQs/FAQ-Details/Can-I-use-a-foot-pedal-with-my-i-Pilot-or-i-Pilot-Link-equipped-motor-/
