  1. We caught some good fish on topwater on Monday. Our best areas were deeper channel swings mid way back in the creeks. The smallmouth were pissed off. They would splash a lot at the topwater but rarely ate it. It was fun but frustrating!!
  2. Saturday was the Ozark Mountain Team Trail Tournament. They had 100 boats.
  3. Saturday, the topwater bite started at sunrise and ended about 9 for us. We also caught a few on a jerkbait and a few flipping bushes. The wind was not our friend on Saturday.
  4. I would say it is natural variation but I could be wrong.
  5. That is an Ozark Bass, which is endemic to the White River. The Shadow bass which looks very similar to the Ozark Bass is endemic to the Black River. Finally, the rock bass is found in the Northern Ozark Stream and through out the Mid and North US. Other Sunfish Species in TR include:. Bluegill Green Sunfish Warmouth Longear Sunfish Redear Sunfish Hope this helps!!
  6. It was a pleasure to fish with Ham, yesterday. I look forward to fishing with him again and hopefully some more of you all.
  7. A lot of walleye are being caught trolling flicker shads and casting jerkbaits. For anyone interested in walleye fishing in Bull Shoals Lake, I would suggest joining the Twin Lakes Walleye Club. Members send out fishing reports almost on a daily basis.
  8. Welcome, if you need any information from the AGFC, feel free to holler at me.
  9. We have found them all the way to the dam for several years now. We have noticed the area around Oakland doesn't have many ZM right now. They start spawning when the water reaches 50 degrees so their numbers will start picking up near end of June toward first of July when the veligers start to settle out.
  10. Here you go: http://www.georgiawildlife.com/node/3395
  11. The spotted bass in those lakes in California are Alabama Bass "aka Alabama Spotted bass." They are Florida bass of spotted bass. However, they can impact the largemouth and smallmouth bass in a system. This was one of the reason that they stocked Allatoona with largemouth bass back in 2013.
  12. As promised here is a picture of the dock. We would like to thank the Harrison Bass Club for getting the ball rolling on this project and Tucker Hollow Marina for taking the picture.
  13. We received word today that the new courtesy dock at Tucker Hollow has been installed. We will try to post some pictures of it on Friday. A courtesy dock slide was also installed so the dock wouldn't take up valuable ramp space. We hope this improves and easies launching at this access.
  14. All, We have received numerous questions and dispelled many rumors about the fish weighed in during the BASS Elite event. Normally during these events, BASS handles the re-distribution of fish back into the lakes they came from. This year, we elected to handle all the fish in order to try to distribute them better and to get them back to the lakes quicker. All fish were released back into the lakes they were caught in. For the fish caught in Bull, we released them at 7 locations throughout Bull. We released them at 3 locations at Norfork. We wanted to pass this along incase you heard a conversation about these fish.
  15. In Arkansas, all fish except rainbow trout maybe be culled at anytime. We actually don't hold the bass for very long when we EF. We do short runs when sampling so they are released close to where they were sampled. The fish we sample, no matter the species, are released close to where they are sampled. I'm a big bass fisherman just like all of you so we try to take as best of care as we can so we all can enjoy catching them (myself included lol). Sorry wrench, I hope I didn't to call you out. As always, this has been another great tread which help us gather angler opinions on issues.
  16. That is actually an Ozark bass, which is endemic to the White River Chain of Lakes. A warmouth looks like the picture below. It usually has three black bars extending from the back of the eye.
  17. Most of the ramps of BS now have the ZM stencils, also. The hopes were to make people aware of ZM before going to another waterbody.
  18. All, I forgot to post this in the past but the Pot Shoals Cove has been open since the first of the year. We removed all but one buoy at that time. Unfortunately the last buoy was hung up and we weren't able to remove it at the time. However, before the Cystic tournament, we were able to remove the remaining buoy so there wouldn't be any confusion during the three events there this month. So if you were wondering or were asked about the Pot Shoals Cove, it is open to fishing. Thanks,
  19. 19 pounds and change was first and 16.42 was second
  20. As the other guys above have mentioned, the minimum length limit (MLL) for spotted bass on Table Rock is 15 inches on the Missouri Side. I suspect the writer looked at the Arkansas Regulations. On the Arkansas side of Cricket Creek on TR, the MLL for spotted bass is 12 inches. The MLL for spotted bass on Bull Shoals and Norfork have been 12 inches since the early 90's.
  21. The Cystic Fibrous tournament is this weekend and BassCat Owners Tournament next weekend. Going to be a busy few weeks on Bull.
  22. Here is a picture of the algae bloom from Bull Shoals Lake on 3/15/16. This is common after a high water year or during a fast warm up in early spring.
  23. Yep this year, it was actually harder to collect males than females. It is usually the other way around. We actually don't see any giant walleye. We (AGFC) have requested 60,000 walleye fingerings to be stocked at Cricket Creek.
  24. Good job!! High water years does wonders for Bull Shoals!!
