  1. I got the same one! Actually here is mine.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FAWMMEY/ clean enough sine wave to run the Ham Radio - Bought it after the Derachio hit us in Cedar Rapids IA. I managed to get by running my fridge with this and all my 20/60v batteries this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H41SDGU until I got stuff into my 150 qt cooler we were out a week, my son was out for 2 weeks... It happens used an https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012YUJJM8 for the phone. kinda minimalistic but was able to run the cell phone. Cooked dinner on a couple different options MSR reactor stove.... when the little bottle ran out used my GasOne - 50180 /50190 refill adaptors to get what little was left in the big 20lb tanks that were "Empty" (I keep about 5 x 20lb tanks at the ready for cooking and the generator.) and my little sweetheart Emberlit stoves (bought one for each of my kids to keep handy) https://emberlit.com/collections/stoves he's a good guy! - BTW his Sprongs are genius Used that opportunity to polish up being self sufficient and treat it as a camping excursion.. Never used my bush craft primative (Punk wood charcoal in a Altoid tin - striker) but it was at the ready.
  2. Im actually building an app that is web scaping the data from the corp. Right now Im just building a spreadsheet that will simulate the same as the app. Plan to set up a decibel monitor here at the house that listens for the horn at the dam and have it trigger the sound on your app... The horn is usually ahead of release.. (but we all know thats not completely true), plus the app is planned to provide a simple glance to show rising or receding conditions (red green) and what CFS is on its way downstream. and when it should get to you.. its a work in progress. Too many ideas not enough time. I got most of this info from a link @netboy provided a while back on the forum.. I just trimmed out what I wanted to see.

  4. updated the post.
  5. I'll just bring mine instead of learning the behavior of a new to me smoker. I have my BBQ guru to control the temps on my modified weber kettle/smoker.
  6. OK, to recap the food plan. Thursday - ??? Lunch meat? Deer burgers and dogs Friday - Pulled Pork / smoked Mac and cheese - Eric and Bill (change of plans for cook time on the pork).. Im now doing this Friday as Mike and his son wont be in till Friday) so I'm gonna Yak fish with Ham Thursday instead and smoke the pork Friday - I'll Probably haul the kettle to the cabin and fish from shore while the smoker does its thing. Sat - Crawfish Etouffee - Cody Sound about right?
  7. I dont think the fish fry is happening now.. we'll do the pulled pork on Friday now that Brett cant be with us. BTW - Just had that this weekend!!! never had it before but it does bring the comfort food to a whole new level!! carbs be darn..I'm getting a scoop!
  8. I may just have to bake some fresh Baggett's for dipping.... in the etoufee gravy
  9. that would be good.. Yes, I am smoking the pork all day at the house on Thursday. Mike, I and his Son Ian will be chilling on the back deck most of the morning and may hit the water later in the day depending on the progression of the Boston Butts and River generation.
  10. you know how I feel... yummm!

    Nets??

    Sweet... who makes it?
  12. looked like you could walk to the island. bring a wade staff/stick..
  13. Had a great time Cody...much better water than we had two weeks ago... Leaves are settling down now. I ended up wading at Rim after heading out from the Brewery... The Pizza and Beer at the Norfork Brewing Co. was just as good this go round....
  14. Thanks for letting me tag along Ham! Best part of the day was being Outdoors, Fishing with a friend, learning how to target a new to me fish, and zinging across Lake Norfork in the Bass Cat.... crap that thing is fast and sliced through the chop like butter.
  15. I think that was a typo... we fished out a prop someone lost from a 9.9
  16. Yes, Mike and I fished this past weekend.. He is staying at my place for the fest....and I believe he plans to fish out of my boat to start the outing... I do have a seat in my boat for another if needed.
  17. Well... I'm back in the Jigfest game... My Accommodation for the mandated vaccine has been approved...This means I don't need to expedite my Realtors license classes to keep the lights on and food in the cupboard (I'm still doing the realtor license thing but not till Jan now.) Previously, if I have been denied the accommodation, I would have been taking my 3 weekend (60hr) course starting the first weekend in Dec... SO, now that I am not being punished for My Body My Choice and being put on an Unpaid Leave Of Absence, ....with punitive swipes defined in my employers LOA (being billed for the company share of my health insurance during the 30 day leave of absence and then if I still had not complied termination without any severance for 17 years)... And, Several rounds of emails with legal posturing I am still employed... I can still enjoy jigfest this year and that make me just as happy as having a job still... Pork is still on the menu boys (I dont think we have any gals... we should fix this )
  18. Hate to say this but some things have come up that may require me to bow out of the Jigfest activities this year. (looking pretty likely right now). I might be able to do something on Thursday but that is even in question at this point.
  19. I have a pair of cheepo walmart boots 1.5 sizes too big and wear pretty hefty murino wool socks in them... toasty. IMHO - In the winter you need room... Tight = low circulation, Tight = Sweaty = Cold.

    Nets??

I have two fishpond nets (pricy) one short handle and one long handle "Nomad"... The long handle Nomad boat net is the one I keep in the TW. Buuuutt.... I had a challenging time of fitting a 24 inch+ brown in it with a guest fishing from the boat... after that I think maybe I need a bigger net for those special occasions. I hate to rabbit hole a thread with this tangent....but it is net related...! wouldn't mind some insight for others in this thread on how you manage hogs and what your preferred big boy net is... I kinda like this one ham is using. Wider mouth.. I kinda like Frabil's collapsible or Attwood fold and stow.
  21. "Lets Go Brandon " - I'm sure I can come up with a jig related (JigFest Junkie) or articulated streamer Chorus for the rest of that chant... ......I promise to use it "only" as a cheer if your name is Brandon and you are not keeping up with the "Fish-on-Count" No pressure - Just to be Clear..... I'll yell "Let's Go Brandon" what "you" reply is of your own volition.... I will not be held accountable if anyone on shore or within earshot is triggered Captain N9BOW
  22. I'll fill that seat if you'll have me
  23. @JestersHK yes and I see the sugar glazed oatmeal cookies are custom fit! - ahhhh... those bring back memories of going to Nannas house and her pulling the tin down from the top of the fridge.. can I fish in your boat? BTW - It looks like the new motor from Jasper will not be in and installed in time so I am without a ride on both counts.... So are we discussing Boat seats yet?
  24. I used to camp in my Jeep at Reds Landing before buying property down here. on "one" (just one) occasion I heard a pile of them squealing and carrying on across the river before sun up.. I'm guessing they were south of the bluff across from the ramp but there was no mistaking it. Im sure they are here though. I cant speak to anywhere else..... and I have not see or heard any in Rivercliff
  25. unless you are directly above said rooms after a night of gastric indulgence.... just saying: (pick your spot in the basement first!) gas permeability, thermal updrafts and leaky sleeping bags tend to weigh against that opinion especially if you are up draft/stairs
