The STX series of Abu Garcia spinning reels are really nice. Not the SX, but the STX. They seem to be hard to find though. I can only find them online, not at any store.

We didn't feel anything here near Branson, but in my hometown of Omaha, NE, they felt it. The Humboldt fault goes north through KS and NE, so the "shockwaves" propagated along the fault northward, rather than eastward. Now, if the New Madrid fault ever cracks, the entire Table Rock region should be feeling that.

I have been unable to catch any catfish at all this year, live bait, cutbait, stinky bait. Probably due to not finding the right location. -

This ^. I tried using a minnow trap all spring, and all I could get was small green sunfish and longears. -

Ozark Marine may have some, and Extreme Outdoors advertises shiners or chubs (I can't remember which or both). -
Service at that one was spotty. Some people had great service. Others were met by surliness from the owner.

I've caught a few smallies while trolling spinners similar to the Erie Dearie. I tip them with a nightcrawler or plastic grub.

I haven't found them yet this year. Past years we've usually found them around sunset schooling off points and dropoffs, and could catch them trolling spoons and spinners.

Very true. They are known for their carp and catfish. I've eaten there many a time. I wouldn't say "line out the door", but they are Very popular., Now, fridays during Lent is another thing entirely

I'm across from the Indian Point marina, and it's horrible out there. Indian Point, Stillwater, Numerous other resorts, and the Houseboat/Giant yacht marina. Weekday mornings (non-holiday) aren't too bad, but evenings and weekends it's better to just stay off the lake.

@Indian it is correct. I was out early last week a few times, and the jet skis/water skiers were out on the lake by 730am. Use the weekends to go fight road traffic and see the sights, rather than fight the water traffic.

Nothing. Water Patrol continued to do sonar searches in the evenings occasionally for about a week or two after (I could see them from our cove), but no word has been said in any of the media.

It's most likely all the rain. The recent gully washers we have had have washed A LOT of debris down into the water. The back end of our cove at the looked like someone had dumped a couple tons of mulch into the water.

Yeah, it is well over 100 feet deep out there. I live in one of the coves across and south from the Marina, and it is 100 feet deep (and dropping) just after you pass our no-wake buoys. Given how many boaters (including big yachts and houseboats) were out there tonight, wouldn't surprise me if the wake turbulence moves and/or brings the body up.

It's really funny how bluegills will hit large crankbaits that have no chance of fitting in their tiny mouths
