  2. Happy Bday to @FishnDave! I hope that you have a great day but no Gar-an-tees and that you get some Carp gifts today🤣! Just be sure to wash the stink off before eating any cake! Happy BDay to @Ryan Miloshewski! I have no puns for your next trip to Taney or if you are going out for doves soon🤔. Hope that you have a great day regardless👍. Also be sure to wash up before eating any cake 😉!
  3. Ditto to previous post😅
  4. My wife has been a fishing widow In the past😅
  5. When it comes to rough fish, getting "skunked" should refer to a good day of catching 😅!
  6. And to think that we couldn't catch one on hook and line when fishing with @FishnDave since they kept eating our floats and not our jigs 🙄. Maybe we should have just shot one instead 😉. I would have thought this was a longnose gar as well, since it is a huge shortnose! Rich Porter’s 14-pound, 6-ounce fish also beats the current shortnose gar bowfishing world record. Nebraska man shoots new state record shortnose gar Rich Porter’s 14-pound, 6-ounce fish also beats the current shortnose gar bowfishing world record. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) congratulates Rich Porter of Omaha, Nebraska for becoming the new state record holder under alternative methods for shortnose gar. Porter was bowfishing at the Lake of the Ozarks May 16 when he shot the 14-pound, 6-ounce fish. The previous state record under alternative methods was a 13-pound, 1-ounce fish taken from Mark Twain Lake in 2006. “I generally come two-to-three times each year to fish in Missouri,” said Porter. “I have a friend I fish with at the Lake of the Ozarks. We were out on his boat that day bowfishing and he was playing guide for me.” Porter said they boated out to a final spot when he caught the gar. “Shortnose gar usually only weight three-to-four pounds,” noted Porter. “So, to catch one that big, we thought it was a longnose.” After contacting MDC, genetic tests were completed to confirm the fish was a pure shortnose gar and not a hybrid with the larger longnose gar. Not only does the fish qualify as a Missouri state record, it also beats the current shortnose gar bowfishing world record. “I’m a long-standing member of the Bowfishing Association of America, so to catch a gar of this size is very exciting – it’s something else,” said Porter. Porter’s gar is the 5th state record fish recorded for 2022.
  7. Can't wait to see how your son does this year. Good luck to you both!
  8. Thought of @fishinwrench when I saw this meme. 🤣
  9. Been to a couple of spots like this 🤣
  10. one or two nice stinkers there😉. Catching stinky fish is why they invented soap🤣
  11. Looking great @Daryk Campbell Sr! Can't wait to see it on the water!
  12. https://journalstar.com/news/local/itll-smell-pretty-bad-state-to-chemically-kill-wagon-train-fish-to-eliminate-unwanted-species/article_88c2765f-f737-550b-9890-bd66c54caaad.html Not sure how I feel about treating a 300 acre lake with rotenone then restock with three or four fish species. Getting rid of the invasive fish is important. However, I question what native fishes that were in the system before its impoundment that are getting dumped with the proverbial bath water? I also would not want to live anywhere near that lake until the smell goes away🤑
  13. This is a heck of a big blue catfish caught in Mississippi. Not sure where the photos was taken but a big selection of cast iron behind this guy as well😉 https://www.foxweather.com/earth-space/giant-catfish-mississippi-river

    What's Cooking?

Cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden in the salad. The parmesan eggplant with eggplant from the garden.
  18. That surprises me Rick since I know that you fish the 11pt. They are common up by greer and in the lower current.
  19. @Ik314 some great variety in those catches. Those look like fish that i would be chasing 😉. You may have two if not three species of redhorse suckers in that mix.
  20. That's a nice redear sunfish!
  21. I just see the URL links, which do open when I clicked on the links.
  22. Big Bluegill. I wonder how his neighbor feels about that catch. Maybe there are bigger ones in there, especially if they provide supplemental feed.
  23. That's a great one! Pretty certain that I tossed a bait to that fish but it spooked at the slight splash🙄
  24. Corn or wheat dust will do the same. So don't smoke around grain storage 🤔 During our first day of physics in HS the teacher placed a paint can on the lab bench. He pulled off a piece of tape from the bottom and the lid of the can. He lit a lighter and a small flame appeared when he waved it above the hole in the lid. It burned for a bit and we all began to ignore it. About 5 mins and BOOM! the lid blew off and hit the ceiling. That got everyone's attention😉. He had filled the can with propane and once the gas and the oxygen within the can were equal that set off the explosion.
