  1. Bring them. Good weekend to spend near Branson with the family. You fish Sat. and they shop.
  2. Looks like today is a day to be out.
  3. We will be bringing a case of water, a desert of some type, and a mindset to have a good time.
  4. ?
  5. I ran glass boats for 15 years, the last being a Stratos with a 225 Merc.. My little motor might take me longer than the 225, but its quiet "4 stroke" and sips gas very easily. Not sure I will go back to glass, but one never knows.
  6. Ok i believe Quill thought we had a few non-boaters that could use someone with a boat. Im sure he will chime in on it.
  7. I can guarantee you that evey bait known to man has been fished at LOZ. Its a great fishery, and gets pressured with folks from new to Pro caliber guys.
  8. Well heck, my 50 is gonna get hurt feelings.
  9. Will you be bringing a boat?
  10. Hey everyone, The first club meeting will be March 21, at 10:30am. I reserved the meeting room at the Golden Corral located at 2734 N. Kansas Expy. just south of Interstate 44 in Springfield. Tell them your with TinBoats BassClub. Meal prices are $8.99 adult, $7.29 kids age 9-12, $5.19 kids 4-8, and 3 and under free. They will have breakfast and lunch at this time. At this meeting, I will take names of those interested in holding a spot on the commitee, as well as yearly dues of $50.00, or that can be paid before the March 28 tournament. This will be a good time to be active from the first meeting, and meet other people who love the sport. Hope to see ya there. Jerry
  11. John, you sound just like myself. Im not sure that ive even turned one on in a year. I still try to read the shoreline, and contour depths from that. I know i cant see humps, depths, brush, etc. in 20' of water "unless i turn mine on" but then again, i think i do ok with flippin, pitchin, chuckin every stump, tree, hump, etc. that i do see. One day, when i win the lottery, that i dont play, i will get me one of those $3000 GPS,Sonar,Digital,Catch all locators, but until then, I will keep my eyes on the bank. Maybe if i went to BassPro during their Spring fishing seminars, and watched how to operate one, i may rely on it more.
  12. Do you think Bobby Murray, the winner of the first Bass Masters Classic, used the same hi-tech stuff on the market today? Nope, but he still caught 43lbs of fish. Yes i know with todays vast array of tech. baits,he could have caught 63lbs. "maybe" My dad used to say, when the goin gets tough, the tough go back to the proven ways. Some of those proven ways of the past have been lost, and would work like hotfire in todays world, as we just dont force feed them to the fish like we do the newer baits.
  13. I, like most, have my go-to baits, but since i bought the Mrs. 10 of these, im going to try my luck. Just looking at the design, they look like they should catch fish. I filled the kitchen sink up, and dropped a floating jerk in there to see how it sat. Can ya tell im ready to get out?
  14. Thats my next boat investment. Upgrade the TM. In calm to light wind, im like a scalded dog, but after the wind picks up, i duck and hide.
  15. I just hope those that came after you are grateful of the time and effort you guys put into it. Those types of charity doesnt only help you out with safety, but everyone that puts in after you, before the next blast.
  16. We live in the Springfield area, and have an extra room if your interested. May be a tad chilly at night by the water. You can follow us down Saturday for the event then.
  17. Nice catch, and I need to follow you guys around. Im guaranteed a clean ramp.

Dang that looks cold. But water appears to be pretty calm, so minimal wind. Nice catch in the winter weather.
  19. Are you pulling a boat down? Staying in RV?
  20. I moved here from Ohio also. I lived in the N/W part of the state, and Lake Erie and the Maumee River "mommy" were my homes. Walleye and smallie galore. As you stated, this is white bass country to a point. Theres decent areas of walleye and smallies, but nothing like Lake Erie area. Are you wanting info on where to fish from shore, where to put your kayak in, or a boat? Nice job introducing those to fishing, and the taste of fresh fish.
  21. I carry a tow rope at all times.
  22. When i started fishing in Mo. in 1998, I had no clue as to what time of the spring to start fishing. I met a local guy filling up his boat at the gas station. I jokingly asked him when a good time to start fishing would be, and he smiled and said "Son, when you see boats being pulled to the lake, thats when their biting". As i pondered his comment that day, it made alot of sense. So, the time to fish when their moving up, is to watch for more boats going down the roadway. The serious fishermen know when, and the more boats you start seeing, is when you best hook up and go... "These are my observations, and no scientific data has been taken "
  23. was that the old wood barn and he lived up the hill?
  24. Well dang J, I was thinking i bought the lady her own baits that wouldnt catch fish, but after your post, i may tie one on myself. I just took one of the suspending jerks out of the box, and put it next to a Rapala, and the contour is slightly slimmer on the H2O, and a "softer" feel to the finish. I will try these out soon, as will she, and if they perform pretty decent, I may try a few other deep divers they had. Most of the 10 we grabbed are shallow, with 1 being 15'. The bearings inside seem to make noise, so i know Mr. Fishy will hear us jerkin' by.
  25. Says they run true out of the box, are hand painted, have a 3-D live eye, AND, made in China. gotta be good baits then.
