  1. Had our club tournament Saturday. The bite was tough for everyone. We have a 4 fish limit. I had 2 keepers for just over 4 pounds. Both square bill fish. Several others caught fish on the same bait. I caught several shorts on a wacky around docks as well as a shakey. Just couldn’t find a good fish. Word was jigs caught the better fish. Winning weight was 7.14. Solo and 4 fish limit. We have our last tournament of 2023 on October 14 out of Aunts Creek on TR if anyone wants to fish a solo event. $50 entry $10 big bass Both pay back 100% No A-Rigs
  2. Now there are times when it does get pushed to its limits, but day in day out i have been keeping at 60 and under. I’m getting older ya know. 😉
  3. Anyone have any info on that pop-r type bait at the bottom? It’s got a wire leader with tassel tied to it. Did it come that way? It appears to be one piece.
  4. I meant to ask the group about that one. I thought it may except a rubber body in that slot, but didn’t know.
  5. I don’t run anything i own very hard, but i do know it appears to run on less fuel now than it did. I assume due to it not needing to try so hard to get out of the hole, or have better mid range performance, but my fuel consumption as a whole has gone down since i had it flashed. When they did the work, i had them do a full tune up on the motor, so I assume again that plugs would have been part of that. What ones i have no clue. I used to enjoy tinkering with engines, but the last 10 years it’s easier to drop it off somewhere. I do do my oil changes on my trucks so i can keep my man card.
  6. I need this thing fixed then. Before the flash from HydroTec i ran 89, as that is the recommended octane. The guys told me when i picked my boat up that it will run on 87/89 but will run better on 91. I had just filled up when i had the lower replaced and the flash done, so i ran that 89 for several trips. My speeds were 78 light loaded, but the hole shot and mid stunk. After i ran that tank i filled up with 91 and added some booster to it as well. After putting around Pomme i decided to see what it would do, so from the Nemo bridge to the dam i let it go. The hole shot was more noticeable, mid range was great, and speed was 81.2 mph. Light chop on the water last January. Since then i have ran some 87 in it and it was not the same boat. It has its best days with 91 ran through it. FXP 27 prop
  7. For $5.00 a post, tjm can proof read your stuff, make it readable for the rest of us, and will leave out the accidental stuff you add.
  8. Possibly, but the recommended octane ratings differ, as should be. Same with automotive engines, RC engines, etc. so a 250 should technically run poorer with 87 vs 89 vs 91 vs 93. Picture one of those go fast, 200 mph LoZ boats running on 87, or an NHRA funny car running on 89.
  9. You need a new cook.
  10. Oneshot should put you on his payroll.
  11. Tho true for most engines, compression can play a part in that. A Yamaha VMax 150 will run fine on 87, but you will see a slight performance decrease with that same fuel in a 250. Flash that 250 and run 87 and you aren’t helping yourself. That’s where the 91 comes in. I’ve ran 87, 89, and the recommended 91 in my flashed 250 and no comparison between 87 and 91 in it.
  12. The great thing about this time of year is it can only get better. Come up and fish our Pomme tourney next Saturday. You can come up the night before and stay at my place.
  13. I was at an auction and the sellers had probably 60 Hot N Tots, new in packages, as well as many that had been used. Were these things really a fish catcher back in the day?
  14. The best part of this website is coming on here and playing the “can you guess what I’m talking about” with oneshot. They say crossword puzzles keep the mind sharp. If you don’t like doing those, just step in to this section daily.
  15. Dang buddy, it has been tough. I know it’s tough but that Ned and wacky bite is the ticket on certain days.
  16. Thinking of nose hooked, did the Banjo spawn the drop shot in a way?
  17. I know there’s lots of baits out there much older than the Banjo “1995” but none have a 2am commercial. 😁 The Bionic Lure was another one from that era.
  18. Haha. Ya know if I didn’t have a boat storage full of other random purchases, i may have considered it. On a side note, i did pick up a like new Abu Garcia Roxani baitcaster at an estate auction yesterday for $11.00. $200 at BP.
  19. Just flipped on the tv and look what i get to watch. A 30 minute segment of The Banjo Minnow. I didn’t know it was still around. They have put together a well made advertisement.
  20. This is the only way i fish when i have youngsters with me. We do exactly as described but use mono as the kids aren’t to quick with flipping the bail when they get hung, and have snapped more than 1 rod. We will be out there early tomorrow morning throwing topwater for bass before switching over to Flickers around 9. My go to is black/silver #7.
  21. He hadn’t worked with me for a day.
  22. I knew I shouldn’t have read to the end. I was 99% positive that the fearful shock you felt was when you went to grab hold of your winky and finally realized sugar britches has been telling the truth all these years, it really is only 1 finger wide.

    We’re those cut off bibs?
  24. There is a stone quarry just down the road from me. A buddy of mine is a part owner, and has hired us to build a few buildings over the years. We have been there this week building a shop. Normally i do my 10 hours “6am to 4pm” with no issues, but with OSHA running around we have to wear long pants, long shirts, steel toe boots, and a hard hat. Normally I’m in shorts, light colored t-shirt and shoes. Putting the metal on the roof this week had been brutal. The temp alone is nasty, but that glare in the face when bending over screwing it down is yuck. Today we jumped down to Sparta and dug holes for a 3000sq. ft. wrap around deck. Last month i built a 20’ x 82’ dock “pier” on his 30 acre lake, so i took 30 minutes today and fished off of that dock. Caught 14 bass and 2 crappie.
  25. Had some time to spare today so swung in to visit wrench and here’s what i walked in to. Usually when i see a guy is that deep into something i just walk away, but because i brought my pcp to do some friendly target shooting, i had to stand there 20 minutes listening to him hum the song from the new Barbie movie. Not sure if he seen me snap this, but here it is.
