Got an issue that needs your attention. 2014 Ford F-450 6.7 Powerstroke. Turbo went out this morning headed to work pulling one of my box trailers. Limped it home with no turbo boost. After checking cold side and return side pipe for cracks, and not finding any issues there, I’m 99.9% my turbo has died. It has been making a whining noise for 2 months now. I gave it the goods this morning passing granny and that whine got loud and lost all boost. When can you fit this in, and cost to replace? I have a trip to the dunes in Oklahoma next Thursday leaving at 9am. Any issues having it back by then?

Did you just refresh those cast irons i see there? 😁 The tank is the route i will take, and dig deeper in to this game during the winter. I know a few diver guys that i hunt with. I guess any scuba tank will do? The bigger the better?

Holy smokes. Just spent 30 minutes looking at that pump site. Those guys get into it and make this “filling your own tank” way more complicated than I’m set up for.

Oneshot, the guys have corrected you already, but watch a couple youtube videos with the moderators installed as BH suggested. Like wrench said, the thump is louder than the shot. These things are very real as far as a serious option for hunting vs a 22.

Well crud, guess i will hop on YT and see exactly how this stuff happens. Sounds like i will need a gun, compressor and tank. Looks like i might be selling my sandrail buggy sooner than later. Nice thing is, is that once the jab of buying the tank and compressor are over, then any pcp gun will be ready to go.

So looking around, air tanks are anywhere from $150 to $600. A nice compressor is $300 to $600. Would it not be the way to go to buy the compressor so you can charge the gun at any given time while at home? Maybe buy the compressor and later get a tank if needed for taking to away day shoots? I’m going to buy something “pcp gun wise” and want to take the correct route.

Yes absolutely. There are a few different stories out there about those 2, and if it was really over the watch. By all accounts tho, Tutt drew first and Bill was the more accurate shot hitting him between the ribs ending his life. They arrested Bill, tho he was found not guilty. Awesome info wrench. So a few months back, when the better half asked what i wanted for my bday, that is when this PCP thought started again. Tho i chose a vacation and fishing gear, I’m still on the hunt for the first. My budget, if i keep the gun itself under $400, maybe $500 with optics allows me to purchase a compressor and goodies as well. I would like to find one in that 500cc onboard air tank, but those are in the $800 and up range. If i stop eating $30 a day at Sonic between breakfast and lunch, i could up my budget in a few weeks. If i go the $800 up range, I’m pretty certain my choice will be the Hatsan NeutronStar in 22. I have read about everything i can find on it and the looks, FPE, shot count, and all fits right in to my wants. Check it out when you have a minute.

Carl, I’m the same. I have more 150gr than any other. Not sure if it’s due to availability pre-covid times, or if it just shoots better but it is definitely the popular grain in this house.

Quill, reading the reviews on that link is interesting. Didn’t see a bad one. One of the hardest hit battles of this country. Loving history and artifacts, it’s hard for me to have tons of compassion for the white men at that battle from what readings i have done over the years, but that gun in itself made some serious history. From 1873 to 1892 that gun was used in so many range wars, world war, and the indian wars. To think that our modern firearms are shooting up to 200 grains and beyond, those of the past shot mostly 40 grains of lead balls that didn’t fair well past 30 yards before they took a nose dive towards the ground. Awesome one to have for sure.

Sorry to wake up a 3 1/2 year old thread, but it is fall time so the feeling of guns and not rods is in the house. I have spent the past few hours searching online for my first PCP gun. Looking for sub $400. I’m undecided on a 22 or 25 cal. Love my Hatsan in 25 spring gun. As of now my top 3 picks are: The Vectis comes with the same Hawke scope i have on my 25, and love it so wouldn’t have to buy optics, tho the combo is $500 I still have 7 air guns but no PCP still so going to add one soon. True. Atwoods was out of 410 also. I go to a few farm auctions a month and pick up ammo at some of those.

I ran into Atwoods, a farm store last week while in Joplin and they did not have any 30-30 rounds, zilch. The 308 were plentiful tho. I will look into that Ruger 10. I like the revolvers.

So disappointed in the lack of rain since planting. It’s not the time i spent on prepping it, or the money for the seeds, but that i did it for the betterment of the deer that come to fill their tummies. Tho it hasn’t had any rain on it, the deer are out there every day.

The past few weeks i have picked up a few new guns to add to the collection, tho i wasn’t in the market. Was at a buddies Wednesday and he was talking about his DU fundraiser and golf tournament and said he had won the same gun he did last year and had no use for it, so he threw out a price and i agreed. It’s nothing special but may replace the Rem. 870 Wingmaster on a few outings. It’s a Winchester SXP hybrid matte tan finish with camo in 12g. Pretty good looking gun, new in the box. This next is a caliber i have never personally owned. Used my brothers a few times just to use it. Marlin model 336 in 30-30 in new condition. I was doing an addition to a house in Joplin when the neighbor came over to the fence talking guns. After a few trips to the fence, he brought out the Marlin. He said he may sell it one day as he had never fired it. Well, it too followed me home. I have a few of these, but when the price is right i have a hard time passing it up. A Glock 19. Off to the safe it went to only be seen when i move it to get ammo. Next is a match to one i had, so was pretty excited about it. Savage model 24, 22-410 over under. As a 6 year old, that was the first real gun that santa brought. Not really sure what ever happened to it, and have spent the last 30 years wanting another. I purchased the first one last year at a gun sale, so when i came across the match i just had to have it. Man do they look good sitting side by side. Next is to purchase a match to the Ruger single six. Not sure why but i really like shooting this one.

Nice write up. I speak for wrench and myself when i say it’s nice to see another air gun hunter out there. I’ve got a 25 cal and it stays at the ready by the back door for the dang armadillos tearing up the yard, even after it’s been treated. If they are within 50 yards that gun will flip them. Put a nice Hawke scope on it and a great combo.

I personally could not think of a more severe punishment. That guy was feeling the stabs with each weight pulled out, and then the fillets on top of it. They deserve all they get, but none will compare to what he already went thru for that 15 minutes.

The tournament director is a police officer and told the guy helping him at the weigh in, that you can see running to get the knife, to call the local officers before things got bad. They walked the one guy out as the other had locked himself in his truck. These guys had gone full scale, padding those fish with fillets stuffed in too. Kinda crazy when you think about what it took to cheat.

There is a single lane, private drive in the Nixa area that my buddy lives on. There are 5 houses. 1 of those are a Biden guy, and he does not get along or play well with the others. My buddy just keeps to his self, and out of the drama, but goodness, the biden guy is a loose canon. The White signs are his, and you pass his house “he is the 2nd of the 5” to get to my buddies. This has been going on for at least 2 years. Went over last week and these are the newest additions. Red sign is a Trump guy. These 2 guys do not get along. “pictures were not sideways until uploaded here”.
