My average speed for most of the year is 58mph. Doing that 76 yesterday the tears in my eyes were so heavy i had to throttle down. Im all about having fun. Ask the guys i fish with. I’ve been known to play pranks while on the water. 😁

Don’t let the facility, or lack of stop you from exercising. There is lots you can do at home. Grab a broom and start sweeping. That’s great cardio. Put on some rubber gloves, grab some cleaner, kneel down and scrub the toilet. That down and up is good for the legs and hips. Load/unload the dishwasher which is good for the back. You see, no need to leave the house, AND your wife will think you have been traded in for a better oneshot.

Haha, true Bill. I want to ask them how they throw that entrapment. The few times i have fished one, I didn’t enjoy it much.

I must be the only one that likes seeing the ramps active. It’s nice seeing people get out that have probably been cooped up 4 months on those nice warm sunny days. There were probably 20 rigs at Cedar Ridge on Stockton yesterday at 1pm. I was one of them.

Good point, as it wasn’t my point to do so. With that said i am pretty confident in saying that every guide, including Bill, catches deep fish, and fish that are deep hooked that don’t survive, several outings a year. I know it’s the name of the game but in my original comment i was just doing math in my head of the fish taken out of a fishery in a years time by a single guide and his paid supporters. Now multiply that by how many trips they do a year, and multiply that by the amount of guides on the water daily and WOW.

I fished a jerkbait like usual the first hour, then switched to a Ned on points. Seen fish suspended on several points but nothing. Even threw a jigging spoon for a bit. I’m ready for some mid 50’s water.

Im starting to think that this time of year is when i should be doing anything but fishing. 3rd trip out in 3 weeks, each trip short, only 2 hours each, but not a single nibble in those 6 hours. Finally got my rear transducer mounted last night so wanted to see if i had it adjusted decent. Pretty happy with the new units. Definitely need more water time to get them dialed in. Back in December i ran across a sand bar and scuffed up my new prop and knew i had lost some speed. I haven’t opened it up since that day, but today the water was nice so i let the Skeeter go. Before the incident i could get a pretty constant 80.3 out of it if i held on to it long enough. As you can see i lost about 3mph. Guess i will send it off and get it touched up. I did mark several brush piles for those summer months.

Guides…..We beat the bass tournament chat to death here, but rarely mention the other, more devastating demon to a fishery, and those are the guides. Yeah i know some here make their living by doing so but there are guides for every species nowadays. If you do the math on the number of fish taken by guides and their paid supporters it would be mind boggling, including bass.

We were at Orschelns today getting stuff for our soon to be hatching chick eggs and wondered over to the fishing section and was surprised to see they have their own line of soft plastics. They are actually great looking/feeling baits. Anyone know who makes their baits? i picked up a few bags.

My favorite guy is Arkansas Mark Davis. He won the day yesterday with over 10 pounds more than 2nd. He was doing the same today until Chris Lane pulled in a fish with seconds to go, pulling ahead of Mark. He really needed this win. It’s been awhile. Anyone watch the MLF on Stockton yesterday that aired?

You should be able to use the Garmin Connect mobile app on your phone.

I was at Bass Pro today and there was a Garmin sales rep there. I overheard him telling a guy that was asking this same question to update his units via wifi. He said that was the fastest and easiest way to do it. It will update to the latest software.

Just take a bottle of bait dye with you and have them use that. Yellow shows up really well in the blood stream.
