  1. Curtis, still have the GT56?
  2. Caught this slime monster at the marina by the dam last Saturday during our tournament. 26” didn’t see much feeding activity from whites then. Hope ya had a good trip Wrench. I will be there Friday through Monday.
  3. It has been tough. I bass fish 99% of my time on the water, and that bite has been tough so not much to share. The tournament results the past 8 weeks have been depressing, but it is that time of year. We will soon be back to cooler water, less traffic, and fish busting topwater and shallow baits, so until then i just enjoy reading.
  4. I spent 4 hours this morning, just before the rain started washing the camper from roof to tires. Amazing the amount of crud these things can have attach to them. We will be at Damsite on Pomme for 4 days this week, so thought i better get on it. Was still winterized. Walking back to the house from the shop, i just had to snap a picture it looks so good.
  5. And this is why we have a camper, and use it in those remote places far away from that type of crowds.
  6. Same here. I started wearing the very light weight tan Wrangler pants 3 years ago for work. The only time i wear jeans is my insulated ones for hunting, or headed to a rodeo.
  7. He will have suspenders and nothing more.
  8. I ran my GT54 to my Ultrex TM and to my Garmin at the bow. Easy peasy
  9. 100%. They are nasty critters but will clean up a lake in a hurry. We never left our boat in overnight but those that do have them stuck on by the handfuls.
  10. Tons of good water from Belle Isle down to Elizabeth Park. The Grassy Island area has some good water on the east side of it. We used to put in at Captain Jims Marina and fish towards St. Clair. Great times. Im headed over there in late September to fish with my buddy that lives there. He’s more of a walleye guy but we used to bass fish together a lot. Going out to the bass islands on Erie to chase the smallies.
  11. Having lived on Lake Erie, and fishing St. Clair a hand full of times a year, here is my suggestion: It is a big lake. Yellow perch are the main summer forage, so get off shore and look for clumps of cabbage. Look for that 15’ to 19’ of water with grass. If you spot the perch fisherman out there, mark that spot and come back when they leave. Anchor Bay is probably the most popular area, and has TONS of fish this time of the year. The lake is like a big bowl, so even 2 miles out it will only be less than 20’ deep. Move until you find fish. Careful for the huge barges. They have a huge wake 100 or more yards behind them. We hit one running mid 50’s and thought we were dead. Scariest i have ever been in a boat. Drop shot, tubes, crank bait, and vibrating jig would be my only baits. You’ve got a great chance at landing some hogs this time of year. Have fun and enjoy, it’s a magical lake.
  12. Awesome that you got the new unit. Did you go through Bass Tank?
  13. You need a local high school kid to act as your legs. You want to go fishing? Have the kid go for you and smell his hands after to see if he had success. You want to go hunting? Have him take 6 or 8 of his buddies out on your land and wait for the deer roast to be delivered. You want the chickens locked up? Have the kid come over morning and evening and pay him with eggs. This kid could do what you can’t, but still include you while sitting on the deck chatting about it.
  14. Boat warshed, rods spooled, topwater tied on, now come on 3am.
  15. They do sell just the head units. Looks like the 93 without transducer is out of stock, but the 93 with is in stock. You could sell that gt56 ducer all day for $300.
  16. Yep, if you buy the combo you can sell the gt54 or 56 transducer easy. I bought my Garmin units at The Bass Tank. Awesome customer service and fast delivery. They may even sell just the head units.
  17. More and more people are spending at least 2 hours graphing to locate fish before they cast. It’s a great way to be successful but quite boring at the same time. Those big worms are a staple there, as well as most bodies of water this time of year.
  18. Awesome that you made it down. Middle of last month we talked about heading down that next weekend, but chose a trip on the Harley instead north. I seen that picture Jason posted of you guys doubling up. Glad you got to go and caught fish. My last trip there my biggest was a 7.4 the last hour of the last day. Trip before that i caught a 7 on the very first cast of the trip. Did you guys go back into Little Caney and check out all the gators?
  19. At BB, there is that driveway on the north side, east of the bridge. There is room between the fence and road to park 2 trucks. Property owners just asked not to block the gate. Lots of deep holes from there to 215.
  20. Same here. Started fishing from BB to the lake in the 90’s. About 12 years ago started doing more from the Sac Stables down to BB. Our normal float is from O Hwy to BB.
  21. It was a perch catcher. Rarely went more than 3 casts without getting bit. Decided to change over to the Plopper 60 and worm to target smallies.
  22. Buddies and i floated a few hours Saturday in the Willard area. Water was pretty low, so had to drag at times. Weather was perfect and so was the catching. Caught tons of 8” to 13” smallies, a few largies, and these beautiful sunfish. Pictured are my 2 baits of choice this trip. Had a few stops in the holes where i would catch up to 8 smallies on consecutive casts.
  23. Feral hogs? Problems? Never heard such ruckus.
  24. Finally found 6 boxes at Walmart. Still about $10 a box higher than i feel they should be, but my little guy likes to shoot his little 410/22 over/under so i gotta pay to play.
  25. Sorry about that, those english use kilometers, so 155 miles in just over an hour is correct.
