  1. And it wont fall in the bottom of Stockton Lake. ?
  2. That was a 24 volt hooked to a single battery?
  3. Replaced the trolling motor this past weekend, and had a guy come look to buy my old one. He drives up from Forsyth this evening. Likes the unit, and before he pays, I said " I just took this off the boat and I know it works as it should, but for peace of mind, I want to show you it works". He obliged and so I had a spare battery sitting next to it. I hooked up the red to positive, and black to negative "took plug off to put on new motor". Hit the button, and nothing. Dead battery I thought. Lifted it up and onto the rear deck of my boat. Popped open the battery compartment, again hooked up red to pos. and black to neg. This time I kno it's going to spin as my boat batteries are charged. Had the guy hit the button as I held the wires, and nothing. Hmmm, I thought, I just took this off the boat and knew it worked. After a few minutes of looking for a reset, loose wire, anything, the guy said if I got it figured out that he would come back and buy it. Well I called a buddy on this site, and ran by my delima. He didn't know what it could be. Well about an hour later, Andy calls back and said " you know what, that's a 24 volt system". Duh, and I call myself a boat guru.
  4. haha. Good choice. I ran my boat yesterday after moving my hot foot closer to me and made a big difference. I wasnt reaching so far to reach it, stretching my nerve out as much.
  5. Nice weekend. Fat sows
  6. Great job. Good to see the youth able to travel and fish. Awww the new era. I got to ride my bicycle with my fishing pole strapped across the handlebars 3 miles to the golf course. Yes, it was up hill both ways.
  7. Sounds like my day today. Fished 4 hours out of Cape. Wart, RC, and Ned. My only fish came on the Ned. It was 3 pounds but man what a long 4 hours. I ran down and thru the snaggers, which were out in hoards. That wont happen again.
  8. Hope everything is ok Cheese. Prayers from my family. If you need anything, hollar.
  9. Man D, you are going to set a record at this pace. Did you join in on the festivities they threw on Bull this weekend?
  10. I understand, but we, including the fish, would give ya a free pass. Im still coming up there for you to now not only show me how to catch LOZ lunkers, but now with a A rig.
  11. The pros talk a lot about this. I see them feeding, but haven't done more than just watch. Like the article says, I need to fire up the motor and go fish around the birds.
  12. We talked about some of this in person. I have been having right side hip issues for 2 years now. As I sit here on the couch, my nerve running down the back of my right leg to below my calf is throbbing. I have a hot foot and do notice when I push to extend the throttle I could feel the nerve more. I have a slide hot foot, so yesterday I shortened it making it less distance to push. I'm hoping this helps. Stay with it buddy. You have a passion for fishing and it shows.
  13. Wrench, our aluminum bass club is having an open buddy bass tournament this May. It's posted in the event section. Open to all boats. I'm sure those here that are fishing it would like to have ya join us.
  14. Nice catch. I see your learning that A-Rig pattern pretty well.
  15. You have a business card, an email, AND a FB business account? When do you have time to fish? Your in good hands Lvn2Fsh
  16. I was at Cape today, and the park hosts have been there setup for 2 months now. Today there were campers hooked up to water/power. We camp there and thought they didn't turn on water/power until April 15.
  17. What Bo said.
  18. One of those activities where booze, food, and boats come into play Phil. Probably at the same time for some.
  19. Haha, well I was on the water for a short time, but not on that end. I'm sure those there are having fun. Beautiful weather and good food and it makes for a great get together. Guess I could always show up with a name tag on my shirt with the name "fishin wrench" and see what happens.
  20. No pics on my end.
  21. read that the other day. Gotta carry when your in that area i guess.
  22. Well crud Mac, someone else liked the boat that started this, as it sold that fast.
  23. True. The debate of Tin vs Glass has heated up over the last few years, and even moreso now that aluminum boat makers are producing boats that can and do handle 250 HP motors quiet well. As i have stated several times, i've owned a few nice glass rigs, and nothing against them, but there are advantages of an aluminum bass boat, and one of those is getting more speed from an aluminum boat with the same motor as you would have on a glass rig, due to weight. Do you suffer handling, i dont think so. Maybe the only disadvantage i see with aluminum is the wind factor due to how light they are, but its more than made up in all the other qualities. My next step up, and knowing me, you can ask those here that know me, probably sooner than later, will be the boat that started this thread, the Xpress X21 with the Yam 250. That stable platform and the layout has my brain convinced thats what i need. Maybe that flashed to a 300? Who knows but its a very nice boat. We as tin guys arent doing this for the savings on the initial costs anymore, as they are now at glass boat prices.
  24. Just scan youtube Champ. those fast tin boats are out there there is a video above that I'm sure those glass guys that he was passing would love to take back
